  1. Hi, I bought an Oregon 200 about 10 months ago and it was working just fine until yesterday when it started not loading the startup screen. It has blank lines at startup and doesn't connect to the PC either. Since it's under warranty I have the option of getting it replaced but also the option of returning it to Costco where I got it and buying a GPSMAP 60CSX instead. I am somewhat new to geocaching with GPS (used to do just the ones we could find with the tips and descriptions and a rough idea of where to find it) but since getting the GPS unit I also got a droid phone and have the geocaching application on it. So...my question is...what should I get? A simple replacement to my Oregon 200 or a GPSMAP 60CSX? That as a backup to my droid which did a fantastic job his afternoon with the bonus of being able to post the log immediately. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you, Flah
  2. Is there a way to navigate to an address with a Garmin Oregon 200? I got this device for geocaching, but I would also like to use if as a driving GPS. Thanks for the help!
  3. I am selling a Delorme PN-40 (Its in perfect condition) with everything other than the Topo software and the West Coast maps. (I lost those two CD's that came with the package, but I do have the west coast maps installed on the device) If you are interested please contact me on my E-mail at onewaytorock@live.com and maybe we can work something out! Thanks!
  4. I have not yet found a way to manually enter a set of coordinates into the Oregon 200. Yesterday we were cacheing and it was a progressive cache. Got the first one, based on the coordinates downloaded, but couldn't figure out how to put the next cache coordinates in. Any help or advise is appreciated.
  5. I am selling my beloved Garmin GPSmap 60 CSX for $200 USD. The gps has had a screen cover on it since new, ( Just removed it, and the screen is perfect).. The gps includes Mapsource Topo software, and city navigator north america dvd. I will pay for shipping anywhere in Continental US. Feel free to call / Text Robert - 970 480 7253 ( Colorado, USA)
  6. Trying to get rid of my Delorme PN-40 again now that the warm weather is coming back. I bought it last summer but never had time to get into geocaching. I opened the box to make sure it worked and to load some local maps and caches on it, but it never left the house. It even still has the protective plastic on the screen. Everything is in the box, and it is almost exactly as if it just came from Amazon (other than the maps I loaded). Amazon has them going for around $240, so I'm asking $200. I also have 4 unused rechargeable energizer batteries and a charger that I bought with it (total cost was ~$30), and I'll throw them in (along with the original included regular Energizers that came with it) for an extra $10. Nothing is missing from the box (comes with Topo 9). I can leave the stored downloaded maps (Bloomington, IN) for you or completely reset to factory settings if you prefer (If I can figure out how...like I said, I never got to use it). Shipping is free unless you want insurance or shipping confirmation, etc. P.S. If you're within an hour drive of Bloomington, IN, I'd be happy to meet you somewhere rather than ship it. In short: - Delorme PN-40, unused with plastic cover on screen - Included accessories (lanyard, USB cable, batteries) - Topo 9 - 4 rechargeable Energizer batteries with wall charger - Shipped for $200 ($210 with extra batteries)
  7. Well I have decided that I would like either the garmin 62s or the delorme pn-60 but I don't have the available cash to buy one new nor do I have the patience to save up for a couple months or wait for a great sale. So I thought I would post a WTB here and see if there are any good deals on a used model. Willing to take a generation older model to get started. Thanks for looking. All offers will be considered. 8. Hi All I have a garmin oregon 300 which i have added OS maps to via the "Custom Map" folder, now a friend has the 200 which does not appear to have the "custom map" folder. Do any of the 200 owners out there have the folder on there units, possibly via updates, it may be that he has not updated it recently, or is the unit software that different from the 300? Just trying to help a friend out. TIA
  9. Cav Scout was banned, I was looking forward to doing his Earthcache when I went down to Washington DC. I noticed it was archived by Brad W. Looking at his account, every single one of his caches were archived. Why did this happen? Why was he banned? And why did so many caches that are still out there and still exist get archived. I can understand the 200 earthcaches he owned, you can't answer the questions if you can't E-mail. But, why archive the physical caches? What happened that I am missing? This happened recently they were archived on December 5th.
  10. I have for sale a Garmin Oregon 200 touchscreen handheld GPS that is loaded with North America City Navigator 2011.10 and 2008 100k TOPO maps for $200OBO. It has a 8GB Micro SD card in it that the maps are loaded on (card can be put in any Garmin that has a SD slot to update that units maps). The unit is used and has a few scuffs and scrapes on the housing but the screen is in excellent condition and the unit works great. It comes with the original box and all paperwork, carabiner clip, vehicle vent mount for vehicle navigation, and the sync cable. The unit with maps and accessories cost me over $500 new when purchased less than a year ago. I only used the unit to Geocache and the only reason I am selling it is I got a newer upgraded unit over the holidays.
  11. So, I picked up an Oregon 200 for 100 bucks today. I am a relative noob, but isn't this a fantastic deal? It should be here within a week and I can't wait to get out there for some Iowa winter caching! Up to this point, we have been using our BBs with pretty good results. We were starting to think about doing some hides, so I thought it was time to take the plunge. I really want to make sure our coords are spot on. I was just looking for a little feedback from the community on the perks of this unit, or anything I need to watch out for. Thanks a lot and happy caching!

  13. How many geocaches can I load into my Oregon 200?
  14. Howdy, I have a Garmin Oregon 300 with TOPO software for sale. I'm asking $200 for it. The unit is in great shape...there are 12 specks on the case that are lighter in color than the rest of the case, but nothing major. I changed over to a Colorado 400t, because I use GPS to hunt as well as geocache, and didn't want to risk scratching the touch screen. MERRY CHRISTMAS! BT
  15. Ok...feeling really stupid here.....I have an Oregon 200 with a microSD card. If I plug the GPS into my computer I see the extra storage area provided by the SD card. But if I store caches on this card, how do I access this information from my Oregon while out geocaching? I see no way to do this...so, what is the point of the card if I can't get to the information while "in the field?" Help.....what am I doing wrong?!!? Thanks in advance!
  16. Hi all. I have an Oregon 200. When doing multi caches I often key in coordinates from one cache to find the next one. The map feature accepts the new waypoint and plots it on the map, but the compass will not. The compass always shows the last geocache I seached for and that information stays in the compass until I select a new geocache. There seems to be no way to clear this information. So, basically anytime I "hand enter" coordinates or even select something of the "Where to" menu, the compass won't recognize it, but the map will. I find this very frustrating when doing multi caches. So, why is it that my compass will only accept/recognize geocaches and not other waypoints or GPS coordinates I enter in the Oregon 200. Anyone have any idea of what I'm talking about, and if so, can you help!??! Thanks!

  18. I just loaded a new gpx and map onto my oregon, and now when I turn it on, it starts to go through the loading process, until it says "loading waypoints, tracks and routes", when it just turns itself off. Any ideas? I can't really take it to Garmin, because I'm traveling with it tomorrow.
  19. ola boa tarde a todos venho pedir-vos ajuda procuro uma loja em portugal que venda o cabo usb para o meu triton 200 se alguem souber de alguma coisa que me diga por favor . boa tarde e obrigado
  20. I'm relatively new with this GPS, and GPS's in general. I use the Oregon 200 (which up til now has been quite good) and usually have a Blackberry with Geocache Navigator going as well. We're driving through town the other day and I notice that the Oregon is showing our path is about 15 metres parallel to the road. My friend who has an older Garmon 60Csx(?) says I may need to recalibrate the GPS but we couldn't figure out if that was possible. Also the distance to cache on approach was way different than the Blackberry and way off the mark much of the time. How do I rectify this problem?? Thanks
  21. Using GPS trackmaker and my Oregon 200. The realtime navigation feature don't seam to work. Any ideas?

  23. Is there any way to use Garmin's mapsource topo 2008 to place maps in the Oregon 200?
  24. Ez a tema foleg a fenti GPS-szel rendelkezoknek szol. Nem tudom, szoktatok-e egyaltalan a firmware-t frissiteni es milyen gyakran. Szerintem a stabil verziokat megeri rapakolni (Garmin WebUpdater-rel lehet). En eleinte frissitgettem, aztan el is feledkeztem rola. Ma ujra frissitettem es sok ujat talaltam benne.
  25. I've been looking at the Garmin eTrex Venture HC. It seems to be positively reviewed by most people. I don't need much in the way of paperless caching, as I have an iPod touch with the official app. I just need a relatively basic but reliable GPS to help me find caches. That's about all as far as my criteria goes. What do you all suggest?
