  1. Congratulations on hitting 200 at Lidwell Chapel last Friday.. well done !!
  2. this is my first gps and it is great for geocaching. I get within 10 feet of the cache under a decent amount of tree cover. defenetly great for anyone starting out or at a medium level of intrest. Good, tough and water resistant. the case is decent also. note: go to amazon i got it for $99 before shipping. After shipping it was $120 and the case was 10. I also got an unexcpected rebate that ends tomorrow for $30 so i ended up buying it for $100 case and gps.
  3. Congratulations to skate, who reached 200 finds at my and Maz62's Torquay View (Devon) cache today!
Was hast du denn - Größenordnung! - bezahlt?
  5. what should i get? im not compeletly sold on eirhter
  6. I've read through the full manual & can't seem to fine an answer to my question. I have several local (close to home) POIs in my unit. When on the map screen they all show. Is there a way to only show the "GoTo" one you're currently working on? The rest just clutter up the screen. Thanks for your help.
  7. Bought one yesterday for my grandson. He doesn't want it unless there is an audible beep when the cashe is close. It does not tell on the packaging. It does not tell on the website. Can someone that has one please answer this? TIA
  8. Congratulations to my UK geocaching friend, walkergeoff, for reaching geocache find #200 on Saturday, September 23, 2005! Geoff, may you find many more caches! Happily, Darsantre (in Turkey) PS I know this isn't under the Pinned: Congratulations thread, but after seeing it was 9 pages long on the discussion of whether to have a pinned thread on this topic or not, I didn't want others to get so bogged down by reading the whole 9 pages before they added their congratz to WG as well.
  9. Congratulations to rev n doc on reaching 200 caches over the weekend. Great show and thanks for placing some cool caches around these parts, we have enjoyed all the ones we have done. We have now forgiven you for grabbing the first Milton Keynes White Jeep the other week. Gary (KiwiGary)
  10. All right everybody, yes, i know, im probably nuts, but if anybody has a used eXplorist 100 or 200 and wants to sell it between $25 and $50 dollars, i might be interested. Keyword is MIGHT, still thinking, but i am trying to maybe get my friend a GPS for Christmas. I would also like a backup for myself, so that when i go geocaching with friends it is not necessary for one of us to miss out on the fun of holding the GPS ALL THE WAY TO THE CACHE!!! It helps eliminate questions similar to are we there yet, only in geocaching terms, "How much farther" every, i dunno, 60 seconds. Take mercy on me, im young, don't got a job (don't blame me for that, they won't let me until i'm sixteen.) If you have one of these models (or a different one for that matter, im not to fussy, especially if you wanted to give me a eXplorist 60 for 15 dollars or a Garmin Legend for 2) and are interested in selling them at these prices, drop me an email at tucsongeocacher@gmail.com and we can negotiate a potential deal. At this point i am not too serious, but depending on the price i just might buy it!
  11. Hi everyone, Another new guy here, trying to figure out what works best for caching and of secondary importance--road trips. Radio shack is selling the Ex500 for 175 after rebates, and I saw a Cx for $242. Which is the way to go, or is there a better option? I saw a very attractive 210 package, but I'm a little worried about not having a card for it. Which brings me to my last question--I just bought a Palm M500, so do I even need a GPS with a SD card? If you made it through all that and can help me, many thanks!!! P.S. Found my first cache today--hoorah!
  12. I see that the running cache info on the website's homepage is about to roll over to 200,000 active caches! Wow. Congratulations to all who have contributed to geocaching's growth. I just passed my one year mark and am having a great deal of fun. Kudo's to Jeremy and staff, moderators etc - this site runs pretty darn well given the number of people involved in this activity.
  13. Jeremy and all Geocachers, Congratulations on making it past the 200,000 mark!!!!. This is a major milestone, and means I only have 199,590 to go, and 216 more countries. Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!
  14. I have a Magellan Explorist 200...just found out this weekend at the INKY Geo Picnic that I can enter in waypoints! What else am I missing??? )
  15. Hey Fellow Geocachers! I just bought my first GPSr and dont know if the results are fair, good, or bad. I bought a Magellan eXplorist 200. Ive been using it and finding that it takes alittle time to get a connection and then the accuracy is so so, its either between 80ft and 130ft, or it goes down to 20 ft to 36 ft. How does this compare to units within the $150 to $250 or so price range, and is there a better unit? Also I dont need many bells and wistles. I have a GPS navigation system in my car so that helps me with getting to caches on the larger scale. Thanks, Jeff B
