Found Physical Cache Without an Online Entry
OlManJeb replied to RedjackRyan's topic in General geocaching topics
Is it possible the cacher was hit by a train and unable to post. -
I deleted the log which was in Idaho titled "I Have Archived A Resolute Ambivalence". Hope that cures the problem.

Today I found GC2ZN0C in Illinois but my log took me 1200+ miles from my location. How do I correct that?

Explain why did you choose your Users Name/Geocaching name
OlManJeb replied to DisneyXtreme's topic in How do I...?
I'm an Ol' Man and my initials are JEB. -
My "goto" repellant is Absorbine Jr. I dab it on the bill of my hat. Others apply it behind their ears and knees.

I'm still looking for mine... I feel so inadequate.

Who Are The Lurkers? Introduce Yourself.
OlManJeb replied to Bloencustoms's topic in General geocaching topics
I'm so new at this I haven't left my recliner. Been poppin' in here off and on since 2007. Trying to get the Mrs. interested. I think it would be a great activity for us both. We're from NW Illinois -
Thank you for the tip. I sure have a lot to learn

I still use my Legend with no problems. It's a great little GPS as long as you don't care about paperless caching. I've since combined my Legend and my smart phone so I can have the best of both worlds. My phone isn't all that bright, so I'll just have to wing it till I gain more experience.

Hello All, I've been lurking here off and on since 2007. Back then, I obtained an eTrex Legend and was wondering if it would be worth the effort for locating caches? Thanks for your replies, Ol' .Man

Update: I thank all you gentlemen for your patience in trying to get me up and running, but, alas, nothing worked. So, I gave in and called Garmin once more and connected with a support person that is going to repair it under warranty since it has been an ongoing problem. Ol' Man

Guilty as charged... all except the caching part...

Is it a blue Legend? If so, I'd guess there is a failed detailed map upload somewhere in there. I'd snag a free Garmin compatible map and try again to upload it. Or reflash the firmware. Or do a reset on it. Yes, it is a blue legend. How go about doing any or all the above. I am a complete Garmin greenhorn...

That's the one. It came with 3 CD's. I must be doing something wrong. I have the latest firmware. I'd like to see a map, any map... all I get is an arrow on a blank screen. I'll try that marine POI, thanks.

I know, I know... I'm a day late and dollar short, but I've come to my wits end... (or half of it). 2005, I received an etrex legend. Whenever I turn it on, it comes up with my name, address, etc, along with "No Base Map". I have scoured the net, tried to contact the company, asked owners, all to no avail. I get frustrated and put it away only to get it out again to start over. I was told I could d/l maps but when I try they tell me my model does not support transfers... please help... I only have so many hairs left
