  1. I was at the main page and decided to click on West Virginia caches. I noticed the West Virginia License plate at top that said "Cacher"

I was just wondering if anyone has that plate, and if so, who?

This is what I'm talking about. Upper right

  2. I looked at my schedule to see what weekends I have my boy. I can make it to a gathering in May on 1, 8 or 9, 15, 22 or 23, and 29.

I think a good place to hold it would be Sutton, or Bulltown near Flatwoods, but I can also make it if it's in KSF.

I'll let some of the locals know about the planning of the get together and the link to this thread.

Really hope I can get to this one to meet everyone.

  3. I'm interested. A friend of mine has one of those dingo dogs. There pretty.

How much do these frisky little furballs cost though?

I've been wanting a good dog to get into search and rescue.

  4. Great idea Eli. Great to hear that your MIA bug has been placed into a cache.

I have one (Marine Recruite) near Charleston that has only seen the cache I placed it in. It really needs to get moving again because my buddy will only be in Paris Island till July of this year. Then he will be moved somewhere else. Ryan and Debbie (don't remember the exact screen name) are the ones who have it. I've sent several polite emails, but have not recieved any response. They also have one of Man in the Wilds TBs.

I have a couple that I've had for a while that I need to get moving. Just haven't been able to get out as much this winter. Plus one of them is too large for the caches I've been finding. May have to pay a visit to your backyard again to drop off this one.

Hope everything is going well with you Eli.

  5. I recieved an email from a reporter with The Exponent Telegram in Clarksburg, WV. He is wanting to do an article on the people of geocaching and wants to talk to some of the Geocachers in the area.

I talked to him by phone today. He also asked me to pass along contact info if anyone else would be interested in talking with him. He is hoping to run the article this weekend.

    Here is his contact info:

  6. Once I was in the approval queue, I looked at a cache, then returned to the queue one minute later. When I refreshed the screen, a new traditional cache had appeared from a veteran hider. It raised no issues so I approved it within a minute of opening the cache page. All told I think it was approved within 3 minutes of submission.

It is all luck of the draw. If you submit your cache while the reviewer is busy working on cache reviews, you often see very quick approvals. If you submit your cache 10 minutes after the reviewer leaves to go geocaching for three days, you get a 3 day delay.

I believe that was one of mine Keystone. I remember that I was very impressed.

    Keep up the great work.

  7. I'm not much of a reader, but I was interested in the DaVinci Code, bought it and read through it in a week. I loved it. For my birthday, my mom got me "Angels and Demons" and "Digital Fortress," both by Dan Brown.

I'm in the process of reading "Angels and Demons" and it is great. It is the first adventure of the main character of the Davinci code.

After reading the "DaVinci Code" I started thinking of putting together a cache to be similar to it. I see someone has already done that.

I was thinking about the Football TB thing the other day too and see that someone has beat me to that idea.

  8. Wow!! Impressed with the number of Eagles, and the number of Brotherhood O.A.

I spent four years in cub scouts, earned the arrow of light. Sit out a year then joined boy scouts. I earned my Eagle scout in '93. I had enough badges for three palms, but ran out of time. I was also in the band which caused me to miss a number of camp outs and meetings in the fall of the school year. I was also brotherhood in the O.A.

I went to the '89 National Jamboree.

I was a member of Troop 124 in Charleson, WV. After earning my Eagle I was an assistant Scout master for my troop for the next 5 years while I was in College. Then I had to move 3 hours away for work and have not been able to go back anymore.

I hope my son will get into scouts when he gets older and goes through to get his eagle.

Had a great time, great memories, and pricless skills came from my years in scouts. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

  9. They've been getting them from Keenpeople.com

but you'd be wasting your time now.

Geocaching.com has taken out the option of using an image in signature lines so thes will no longer work.

Some people are putting them in the actual body of the post now, but it'll only be a matter of time before that is ended too. Plus it gets old having to copy and paste all the time that way.

  10. I must be getting to old.

What are IP sniffers? How were they in the forums?

  11. Did someone forget to think about this one? What happens when the snow starts falling, and it gets covered in a couple of feet of snow. (No air) Or when the temp drops below zero. Or a flood. Not every one will put one in a flood plain, but there is always one idiot that dosn't know what he's doing.

I think this is a bad idea and cruel to the animal.

Also, think about the person who thinks it would be cool to put a snake in one and dosn't realize it't poisonous?

...Dan's happy that I'm dating again. But don't think I don't still have my eye on him. As for me caching out of state. Why? There are more popping up in WV than I can get to...

    Congrats!!!

Praying that you get married so it takes up even more of your time so I can get ahead. icon_wink.gif

    congratulations to MITW, and Eli.

  14. We now have a willing adopter. I emailed Strider_greybeard since he is closer to the cache than I am. He said he'd gladly adopt the cache and has already sent an email to Keystone approver.

Thanks quest Master for saving it prviously.

Thanks Strider_Greybeard for adopting a great cache in a great area.
