Yep, I think it looks good also but may not be quite right for this project, let me tell you why. My only concern is that I would personally prefer (IMHO) a design that reflects ALL the forums rather than just the geocoin forum. This is why I like these designs best: Likewise that is why I like the name GeoGab // GeoGabbers without a reference to coins because it represents the whole forum community rather than just one segment of it and it reflects what the forums are all about . . . . Yep I got that Mexico coin. Very nice looking coin and brings back fond memories of the five weeks I spent there when I look at it. Looking for a Guatemala coin for the memories of the eight weeks I spent in Quetzaltenengo or as the Maya call the town Xela (Shay-la). Would like to move to the Chiapas area of Mexico or the western highlands of Guatemala some day if the opportunity presents itself. Anyway that is more info than you wanted or needed but it felt good to me to expound ......

Anyone know if there is a Central American coin or more specifically a Guatemala coin in circulation? Yea I know there are probably only 6 geocachers in Guatemala but I just need to ask anyway.

My personal preferences for an Icon is the stamp design with the following symbol(s): or With the name: "Community GeoGab Coin" // "GeoGab Coin" or something to that effect. Both the Icon and the name most accurately reflects the "community" theme of all the forum discussions not just the coin thread. If that makes sense. Just my two geocoins worth.

Now, let's rectify the issue of you being able to post pictures. I use photobucket, it's way easy to use. so all you do is go to photobucket.com and create a user account. Then once you find a picture you like you can upload it to your photobucket. Once it's loaded under the picture will be 3 sets of code, URL Link, HTML tag & IMG code. You will need to copy the IMG code then paste it into a forum post. So for the example of this thread, you had the idea of a stamp, so you post the stamp and say I like this design with X(whichever image you liked) as the theme. Thank You I like this image ALOT. Just a test to see if I figured out how to upload an image.

Ok I had a couple drinks and was't mad or anything just frustrated with my inability to take an idea to the next level by creating a design and posting an image here. So I think next on my long list of things to figure out is posting images in the forum. Then how to make designs electonically.

My last post in this thread. Coin Name -- Groundspeak Geogabbers Icon Design -- Stamp idea (big surprise) with the Groundspeak logo though it is unlikely I will receive recognition for the original stamp idea if it is if fact adopted (reference to post 39 of this thread) because I lack the designing skills as well as the knowledge to post images here. I certainly learned that it definitely didn't serve my best interest to share an idea as many are picking up the idea as their own. Now I will bow out and learn to keep my mouth shut in the future. Ok maybe this is obvious but how bout naming it "Groundspeak: The Language of Location" or just plain "Groundspeak" after all this IS where the forum is. It would also be a shout out of sorts to all those who work so hard volunteering here that makes this all possible. And the icon maybe being the Groundspeak Logo at the top of page (in a stamp form of course) I would post it here just as I would have posted my stamp idea originally if I wasn't so techno challenged and knew how to post images here . Definitely puts me at a disadvantage so at least give me props for the original stamp idea if it is in fact chosen as the icon.

Seeing it is a forum related theme how bout naming it the "GeoGab Coin" or GeoGabbers Club" or somehting along those lines. Oh and did I mention I STILL like the stamp idea for the icon.

Name: Urgent Delivery And I STILL like the idea of a STAMP for an icon. Would say with a cancelation mark on it but it would probably be lost in the resize.

I think a (Canceled) stamp would be a good ico. As for the name..."First Class Delivery of the day" Or just "First Class Delivery" I just lack the skill needed to create an adequite icon.

Parenthetical to this discussion I am releasing a TB tomorrow I hope. You might like to see it reference TB150WC. Take a look ,sorry the photo isn't very good I have a hard time with close up photos. I think it is funny.

I wish I was rich or could work out a deal on a design in exchange for some coins so I could release a few unactivated coins. I am envious and I bet it is very rewarding to do that. I think it would be neat to just hand a new guy a coin (not that I am completely a veteran but think I am past the newbie phase) at an event so I would be able to educate the individual and explain how it works. This way he/she is educated on how the logging process works and such, plus I would get the immediate satisfaction of seeing the reaction in person rather than in print. I myself have only seen 1 coin in the wild but was activated and I moved it quickly it made me so nervous having it in my possession lol. This is a very kewl concept though. Actually it just occured to me that if you handed a person a coin face to face this woudl illiminate the posibility of caches being pilphered (sic). Just a thought. Peace jAY miLLS
