I just keep them in a small box and look at them every couple days or so but I only have 5 coins so far and don't know what I would do if I had more. I think I will display them though in a similar way as you (but maybe in a stepped display) in my little corner of the house where the computer is and my library and such once I get a few more coins added.

I think the white part woudl look good as white having a foot prints in the snow look

Mike: Does opting for some non-trackables reduce the cost at all or is the cost the same regardless? Ex. Is 20 trackable, 5 non trackable (20%) on order of 25 still $100? or less or is 40 trackable, 10 non trackable (20%) on the order still $160? or less I will likely go with an order of 50 and am trying to work this into my budget - SHIVER! Lets just quit talking about Deafhunt and move on. Yes Deafhunt did get off on the wrong foot by asking for coins before he even made a find or a log. I think he has humbly seen the error of this (READ THE TOPIC NAME) and has since TRIED to apoligized and has appeared to make some honest effort to improve his knowledge of geocaching in general. Lets accept this in good faith with the understanding that there isn't one of us in the forums who can make a claim to never making a major public blunder so lets TRY and be a bit more gentle and civil by giving Deafhunt a chance to prove himself to the community. Lets quit beating on Deafhunt now and just watch his progress and maybe offer productive advice, give guidance, or point him in the right direction to help him adjust to the forums and geocaching. There enough hate and discontent in the world already, lets not have it here too. Geocaching is just one way to escape from all the BS in the world as far as I am concerned lets not spoil this. Imagine how all this looks to a new guy/gal coming into the sport. Relax and go find a geocache, better still go hide one for others to find. If you can't say anything productive don't say anything at all. Please enough is enough. BTW I was also a skeptic but am willing to give the poor guy the opportunity to join the community. Well I solved my my problem with upside down text along the bottom anyway. Unless I want to add my first cache date of 1/18/2007 in that location. I have risen to my level of incompetence

You can contact him at toyhappy at gmail.com There's no doubt in my mind that Jamie can take that picture and turn it into something that will not only be "do-able", but it will also look great! The tag Jamie made for me was made from a picture of my dog that I sent him. He did a great job making it actually look like my dog, rather than just "some dog" well worth the money. I don't doubt Jamie's ability, I am sure he and any number of folks would do a bang up job. I am just on a very stretched budget and have a very limited income at the moment (in between jobs and in the middle of a career change). As it is I will have to find a way to pay for this project, and it is the cheapest way available (I think) for me to have a personalized trackable. I just don't want to add to the expense if I don't have to, that is why I tried my hand at the design. Might have to just surrender and pay, or practice my GIMP designing skills as well as what is required for the design and wait for the next project. (Tongue in cheek) I tell ya I kind of regret ever stumbling into this forum, thisis a very slippery slope indeed.

I need feedback. Ok I know the edges of the circle could be smoother and I can't figure out how to get my geo-nick to appear right side up but otherwise you kinda get the idea I have. How is this? Will this image work on this tag/coin? Thanks

Thats what I would eventually like to do but I need to establish a desirable collection to trade with first. But to establish a desirable collection you have to know what to buy. I will just keeping looking at the forums and let the rest take care of itself. I think I have already made 2 bad coin purchases I just don't want to make too many of those and get stuck with a bunch of coins no one wants.

This is as far as I can get using Gimp with my limited skills and have a couple questions. - Can someone help me by telling me how to fill the color in with out going past the edge of the disk? - How do I add text to curve along the disk? I want to have it say "Rasta Heart One Love" across the top with the text maybe a bit bigger and the hole between Rasta Heart and One Love. And "jAY miLLS" curved along the bottom. How do you get the text to curve along the edge. - Will this image even work for this project? Any help (advice) with Gimp on these things would be appreciated. If this an inappropriate thread for this I am sorry. I am just trying to get an idea what a coin/tag might look like. This is my first attempt at this so be gentle I know its not professinal looking and all that. Please don't assume I will know what you are talking about explain it in term I will understand nto lingo and such. Thanks

Not asking anyone to do a design for me or anything, I just want to know if my Avatar can be used on such a coin/tag and whether there would be room to have Rasta Heart-One Love along the top with jAY miLLS along the bottom? Also if anyone here uses GIMP please pm me and tell me how to manipulate a square image into a round image if it isn't too complicated. Also keep in mind I am new at this so keep that in mind if you respond. Don't assume I will know what you are talking about, so keep it as simple as possible. Thanks

I just downloaded GIMP but it is a complete mystery to me how to use it to put my fantasy personal coin design from pencil form to digital form. Even though I can't afford it to produce the coin at this time it would give me something fun to do and look forward too.

Exactly what I am getting at. WIth my very tight budget I need to find out what is hot and what is not so I can at least recoup my money if the need arises down the road. I hope it doesn't come to that but I know I have probably two coins that I bought in the first days of my geocaching that I wish I had a do over on. I won't mention them publically to save embarassing myself and to prevent the appearence of disrespecting someones geocoin design. Anyway ....... I am not looking to get rich on geocoins, I am just trying to protect my invenstment in geocoins by making well informed decisions. Thanks for your post.

Very nice looking coin. Good Job! Very impressive. Unfotunately $18.00 including shipping is beyond my reach. Definitely have to put this one on my wish list. Maybe the gods will be kind to me and let me win a lottery or something.

I asked a similar question in a recent thread. Its a mystery to me too but I am just getting started and still learning this whole coin thing. My main concern is that I am on a fixed income and just don't want to waste money on geocoins that aren't worth buying. If I am going to scrimp and save to buy a geocoin I would just as soon that it be a coin that I can consider an investment of sorts that I can enjoy, but if I need to I can recoup my money. I have five coins I like and I get travel bugs and generic coins to put in the wild because I like watching the logs and where they go. Anyway I said all this in the other thread.
