  5. I introduce those wooden nickels to the rubber stamps I have for such items. Paw on one side, jAY miLLS Milwaukee 2007 on the other. Speaking of which . . . .I need to make a trip to the craft store tomorrow for more. Thaks for reminding me.
  6. Congratz Jen . . . just gotta love it! ROFLMAO
  7. I got no problems with questions, that is what teh forum is for. But I must have missed something along the way because all I have seen is VERY persistent and relentless begging of coins (not to mention a GPS) for months now from this guy. But hey . . . who am I . . . it seems to be working just fine for him and pays off because he got another coin. Maybe I can learn something from this so my hat is off to him. Can I have a coin too? Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Can I?
  8. WOW the GeoFairy is getting around. Congratulations to all finders
  9. Its been said before and its obvious you missed it so I will repeat it here that relentless begging is in poor taste DeafHunt and it is getting old. Peace
  10. Received a padded mailer from Arizona today and thought it was my DDOS mission package at first. I opened it up and saw this: 01101100 01111001 00111111 00111111 00001101 00001010 00001101 00001010 00001101 00001101 00001010 00001101 00001010 01101100 01111001 00111111 00111111 00001101 01111001 00111111 00111111 00001101 00001010 00001101 00001010 00001101 00001010 I don't know what any of that means but there is similar text all over the coin I received. This is the Mystery Binary Coin I have been wishing for, such a pretty blue too. The symbolism is great ROFLMAO and I am honored to have received this coin. Thanks for thinking of me MBC who ever you are. Peace jAY miLLS

  12. Congratz to the latest finders, well done
  13. Volunteer, yes, thanks for doing a largely thankless duty. "HAVE to" <____>, no. The mods made a decision to do this, they don't HAVE to do this. As far as owing the community something, IMHO I believe the individual who mentioned that statement was simply pointing out that unlike the mods alter ego coin (or any commercial coin) the individual can do as they wish with the entire process but because the mods are representatives of Groundspeak they should maybe consider going the extra distance to accomodate the community when/if they produce a coin because they are the first face of Groundspeak and by extension the first impression of Groundspeak that most people will encounter. And it appears this is being considered in this case. Of course I could be mistaken and the person could have meant something entirely different. I have been wrong before and will be wrong again. Anyway, I am glad I am not clamouring around the mosh pit for this coin, it sounds bloody but I am happy for you that it is selling well.
  14. Just so some kid who happens to read this thread thinking this is a great idea and wanting to try this I want to point out that there are serious health and safety concerns to consider when working with melted lead - or any lead as far as that goes. I wish the OP would have mentioned these risks in this thread to make sure people are better informed about the risks but be that as it may. Something I grabbed quick from the net: The list of what NOT to do is probably the most important thing to review when working with lead. Both lead dust and the vapors from melted lead are poisonous, especially to children and pregnant women. Lead poisoning in children will cause brain developmental problems and in adults it will destroy the kidneys. There is no treatment, and no way to remove the lead once your body is contaminated. Serious burns are more immediate as lead melts at about 630 degrees F and at that temperature it will easily burn through clothing and skin. Also moisture and hot lead do not mix. Water instantaneously expands to 30 times its liquid volume when vaporized by molten lead and will cause an explosion. So here are some precautions you may want to follow: 1) Wear as much protective gear as you own or can stand, including a face shield, leather apron, boots, gloves, respirator, etc. 2) Work outside or in a very well ventilated area. Do not smoke as the dust will be vaporized by the burning tobacco. 3) Clean up all spills. 4) Keep your work cloths separate from the family laundry. 5) Wash your hands or shower when you complete a session. Do not eat, until you and your cloths are clean. 6) Work in a dry location and pre-heat lead, tools, and molds. 7) Once the lead is melted, turn down the heat in order to reduce the fumes and potential for serious burns.
  15. Congratz to all the new finders. Wisconsin is very nice this time of year GeoCoinFairy, come visit.
  16. Not to take anything away from Mark's victory . . . Just want to give a shout out to TeamLegend4. Thanks for an entertaing spectacle. There are 38 other people (presuming 40 entries) who played who would love to be the first loser (second place). Good job albiet it without the glare of the spotlight.
  17. . . . He basically was very generous with his winnings. Indeed.
  18. Also FYI-These are nickel as well which differs from the chips used at GeoCoinFest and GeoWoodstock poker games which were gold. Maybe a black nickel poker chip will be on the horizon. Love these poker chips . . .
