  1. CONGRATS- VISITING N.C. IN OCTOBER SURE HOPE TO FIND ONE. THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO (DID?) Thanks. Hope you find one of them. Currently there are 4 of them as TBs traveling around. I think atleast one of them has made it out of state (Ohio, I think). I think the other 3 are still in NC. I've released several others as swag and have no idea what's happened to them (other than some good logs that they've been found). I know it's not a fancy geocoin, but I would think these would fall into the "very hard to find" category for collectors, I just hope some of them keep moving.

  5. My favourite is Fairbanks. He's heading for Fairbanks Alaska. We keep running into him locally and can't figure out why he isn't going home (other than maybe he doesn't want to). The first time we found him, he was heading for Winter and was improperly dressed, so we added a sweater, warm jeans and a toque to his appearance. Then we found him again in Spring and changed his outfit to suit the Season. We gave him a lighter sweater and a cowboy hat. Haven't seen him lately. Does anyone have Fairbanks and how is he? 6. I just have to ask, would you care if a local cacher went and retrieved all the bugs as soon as you put them in there, all the time, every time? I'm sure there's a lot of people who would do that, seeing as it's just a prison, as you call it. I really would not care. Its just a game to me. If I called this a Travel Bug Resort with a lake view, no one would get upset but the location, concept and design would all be the same. Of course you would care. If you go to all the work (fun) of designing and setting a hotel cache, it does matter that someone empties it, leaving nothing for the next poor cacher. It's a matter of courtesy.
  7. I feel the same . If I don't like the imposed rules, I just don't go there. The same could be said for all the people who complain about micros. If micros offend you, just don't do that cache. READ BEFORE YOU SEEK. Happy caching

  9. For StarBrand who quotes definitions: think about it. That was the irony of the title. They are the destroyers of their own game. As long as they have their fun (& numbers), they don`t really care about the next cacher. Thanks to all who have responded to my query, I appreciate all the help and suggestions. We have over 50 hides now and find the maintenance time required after a numbers group to be too much. If cachers treat a cache as if it was their own, most problems would be eliminated. We could go caching instead of doing maintenance. A lot of our caches were just to visit new or interesting sites. We have now reverted to adding a greater challenge to the finds in order to keep away the ``lazy ones``. Again, thanks to all and happy caching.
  10. I do not see anything useful in this comment (sic)
  11. The harder the cache the fewer lazy cachers. not so, I find the more genius the cache, the less likely muggle cachers take the time to replace properly.
  12. I have an issue with geocachers who hunt in a group and do not bother to replace the caches properly. We go to a lot of trouble to design and place our caches only to find them just dropped near the coord. They are left in the open or not securely closed so that everything gets wet. We find that the "all about numbers" groups are not true geocachers, disrespectful and rude. If people did not go to the trouble of providing fun and interesting caches, where would be the fun in caching. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO STOP THIS?? Some of these muggles also walk off with the TBs and they are never heard from again!!!!!!!
