  1. No one sets up a cache assuming it will be looked after. However, no one sets up a cache thinking that in pooring rain, the cahe will remain dry.DUHHH

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly, but I expect my caches to stay dry in the rain. Obviously cachers need to take care with the logs and cache containers if they open them up in the rain, but I expect my cache logs to stay dry even in bad weather. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding.

Nice that the rain is dry in your part of the universe.

Does 205 finds make a cacher an expert???????

  3. We have 85 caches placed everywhere so cachers can have a great adventure. I know it is our responsibility to keep our caches in great order but when some cacher goes out in the rain and claims the cache but could not sign it cause log was wet, it really ticks me off. wE TRAVEL WITH A FULL KIT...EXTRA LOGS, EXTRA SWag, extra plastic bags, pencils etc. Would it be unreasonnable to ask a cacher to slip a dry piece of paper in a log????? Sorry but that really makes me want to archive each and every one of my caches to avoid the "cursed" 'needs attention. We are a community ....is it wrong to help a little? If so, we have been wrong a lot! We have even replaced broken containers! Someone tell me is this a game or a marshall law sport?

I'm sorry you lost your friend.

Here are my babies. They love to go with us, esp if I can let them off the leash.

team_goobie It looks like we have twins, but Stormy is much younger.

Your black dog looks like our Muggles except that she is (was) all black. Now she is getting grey like us.

  5. Now this is a mega. GeoWoodstock VII. 757 "accounts" have posted will attends. I wonder if they are spamming in logs, caches, and Facebook, like people are for spring fling?

At the risk of saying something that later, I may wish I had not ...

I wonder if Keith is as nasty as his words sound or if he is just kidding around?

    edit was to fix grammar

My feelings exactly ..,...from the Mon of Monterry

  6. Had a ball with the Discovery 5 crew and LNBJJF. Extremely well organized and a whole lot of fun. Conrats to all the planners, assistants and orange shirts. Even the CITO was great fun with the gang.

Thanks and congrats from us all. Monterry

  8. Probably one of my all time favourite caches. I found it because I am an English major not because I am a geocacher. :D

I tend to do numbers runs in the winter because I don't like the cold. In the summer I prefer less quantity and more quality although my stats might indicate otherwise.

Are you kidding? Just the fact you took less than a millisecond to find an almost impossible, invisible, ammo can under a bridge last summer tells me your stats are pretty close to true.

We do lpc and very interesting caches. Thanks for visiting our bridge and understanding our language.

  9. what do u hide?
    Whatever I feel like.

and today it is not your feelings aye? haha smile, relax, have a nice day - go on nice cache hunt!

    Huh?

Just go out on a nice cache hunt, and roll with it. Not like the Buffalo Bills are going to win or anything.

come on people, try to be nice

  10. I don't see any sort of trade rule on that cache other than - trade fairly, and your bug has only been Discovered twice since dropped.

You can certainly retrieve your own bug or any other bug you can assist towards its goal.

DARNED RIGHT - GO FOT IT

  11. I just put a TB decal sticker on my car, how will I know when someone logs it???? Will I get an email ... or do I have to put it on my watchlist??? If it's a watchlist, how do I put it on the list?????

So did M<onterryt - whatch for thr blacl Dofge ram. hunmtsville to Myrtle beach

  12. Recently, a few fellow geocachers and I started a TB race to see who could travel the most miles within a time limit. (You can see the current standings at www.TNLNSL.net) I liked the idea so much, I have been working on a website where you can create your own race for you and your friends, create a race for anyone to join, or join a race someone else has started.

Would any of you be interested in using a website such as this? It is quite a bit of work, and I have had a motivation issue getting it done. I thought maybe if many were interested, it might motivate me to get the site ready for deployment.

Also, is anyone interested in beta testing the web site? Actually, at this point it would be more like alpha testing (developing/testing needed features as well as nice-to-haves). If you want to test the site, email me via gc.com, and I will give you the URL.

So, what do you think? Do you like the idea? Would it be fun and would you use it (or not)?

    Let me know,

    Sam

Heck yes, we hav 3 ready to go.

  13. I think that is one of the most interesting and constructive ideas ever mentioned in this (TB) forum. B)

Wow! That is even better feedback than I expected. :anibad:

Our is a heck yes... we are there. he

  15. Ethical? Yes.

Would I run it on my PC? No.

Even though I might trust you, what's to prevent someone else from replacing your software with something that is malicious?

    Too risky.

    +1

and i dont want people sending emails from my machine or uploading anything form my machine.

put a disposable camera in it or somit

This all sounds great but soooooo risky

  16. Both Retrieve and Grab do the same thing so it really doesn't matter which one you pick. Normally you would Retrieve a bug from a Cache and use the Grab option when the bug is listed as being held by another cacher. There is no Retrieve option when it's being held.

Thanks BlueDeuce, just one last question though - under what circumstances would one want to grab a TB when it is listed as being held by another cacher?

If the other cacher fails to log that they have placed the TB into the cache that you found it in, you would need to Grab it before you could log that you Placed it into a cache.

However (there's always a However), you should allow the other cacher time to log it before you Grab it.

Yep, or perhaps someone handed you a bug. I work with another cacher and on occasion we trade TBs this way.

OK, all is clear now. thanks for your patience guys.

We still contend that you trade like for like. It is more fair that waY to the "bug" originators.
