If you go to mygarmin you can see if you got yours registered. Mine registered just fine, but I just do not get the updates. I did notice that the revision date on their webpage where you sign up for the updates was changed recently, so that may indicate they are aware of the issue. In the meantime, I have just bookmarked the webpage for the updates and will check it once a month or so.
With regards to customer service, I have been very pleased. I get in fairly fast and the reps are helpful and courteous. Software updates have been reliable and worked every time I have applied them.
