  1. I'm having a bit of a run on cameras! We've replaced the camera at Park Lime Pits, and the pics are online here. Please add comments to confirm names I've put in, or name people I haven't. I'm still looking for some names at the other caches, so check out My Geocaching Album and see if we can get the full set. As per usual, be a bit patient if the server is slow. I'll move them all somewhere quicker when I've got all the names I can. Chris
  2. Hmm. I had that thought after my experience, but it's a long way to go IIRC. I'm very dissapointed that someone else has had the same experience with this particular person. I have been guilty of hanging on to bugs for too long, but I would at least have the courtesy to reply to mail. as to "then there is a certain degree of legality to debate about using this information!" The information is publically available to anyone with the knowledge to obtain it. IANAL, but I cant see how it would be illegal. Shouldn't be neccesary, of course. Chris
  3. dadgum. I didn't think of that!. It does work out to a UK address. If The Real Badger wants the info (and doesn't know how to find it themselves), drop me a mail.
  4. You might like to check the history of Piglet as this might give you some encouragement. I did try a post here when Piglet went missing, but no-one had contact details.
  5. We had a bug unmoved for a long time(supposedly in the hands of another cacher), and it was then found in a cache and moved on- the cacher never replied to my mails. The only thing that annoyed me about this was not knowing where the bug was. I'd just suggest mailing the owner and asking.
  6. Could you have a look at the shire oak ones too? I've marked one as taken by you. Same goes for anyone else who can help identify. Shire Oak Photos
  7. Photos are online for Blithfield Port at this location. When I have names to photos I'll put them somewhere faster!. Click on the photos and leave a comment if you recognise youself (or others).
  8. The photos for Shire Oak Cache are online Here Please confirm my guesses at the photos by leaving a comment (click on the photo). When it's done I'll put them up somewhere a bit more permanent and fast than an old PC in my spare room!. I'll be putting up pics for Blithfield Port soon too. Chris
  9. Personally I think charges should be stated if possible. One of our caches has a choice, with the nearest parking being chargeable.
  10. Wait until you place your first cache and then spend the rest of your life saying 'That would be a good place for a cache'
  11. Hi. We're not too far away: Walsall.
  12. If it's any help that's what we got. Very pleased- but we liked the venture we had before too. Ours seems to do some UK mapping- It knew the very small village we were saying near in the lakes. www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk have been good in the past. We didn't use them this time though, as we were facing a week's holiday without GPS and didn't have web access.
  13. If it's a landline, does she have a PC connected to it? Could be a 'porn dialler'
  14. Just read that story......amazing that there are some honest people in the world......just a thought, would WE do the same?! I would return it, but I'll bet there's a few people that wouldn't . I'm living in hope. Ours does/did have a waypoint called home...... I've reported the loss to the local police, but no response so far.
  15. Just in case, has anyone found a Garmin Etrex Venture around Grasmere in the Lake District? We lost ours last weekend :-(
  16. I always use spray cans of hammerite, as it's very tough and doesn't need primer. I also bought some of the official stickers as they're a good size for an ammo box.
  17. Hoping some fellow cachers might be able to help. I released our first TB 'Piglet' some time ago. Another cacher asked if he could take him to Malta (I'd said I wanted him to stay in the UK for now), and I said yes. This was all agreed, but now nothing has been heard or seen of him since July. The cacher doesn't answer my email, direct or via GC.com, though he does ahow up as having visited the site. Any advice on what to do now? If the TB is lost/stolen/eaten/formed a new society, all well and good, but I'd like to know. http://www.geocaching.com/track/track_detail.asp?ID=27372 Chris.
  18. Same here. Thanks for the quick setup. The Devil may care, but I don't mind.
  19. quote:I like the idea of featuring a WWII bunker but I guess the cache should get archived and the container and its contents reused for a different cache with a different name. You're probably right. I don't think there's much in the way of ww2 bunkers near here- I didn't know about that one. If I think of anything will post/mail. How did you enjoy your driving on the 'wrong' side, with manual transmission, and west midlands traffic? The Devil may care, but I don't mind.
  20. quote: Anyone able to help this gent? Paul I might be able to. I was the first to visit that cache. I don't know the area intimately, but I do live fairly nearby. I could have a search perhaps. Hammack, have you returned to the US now? The Devil may care, but I don't mind.
  21. It's scary. We're already showing symptoms! Caching since Dec 02. We now walk about saying things like: "That would make a great cache site" The Devil may care, but I don't mind.
