Hi I've recently bought some TBs, activated them and now hold them in my inventory.
But now I plan to place my first night cache and wanted to offer one of them as a FTF prize.
Is adopting the only way of giving my TB to the FTF my cache or am I able to Re-De-activate the TB so it can start from fresh?

I've just started placing geocaches around my home town and am thoroughly enjoying the experience.
Now I have a few on my list I was wondering if there are any plans to add a column to the list which shows how many 'found it's there are for each cache.
I'd love to be able to see which of my caches has been found the most without having to go into each one to see.
You can arrange the list in order of 'date found' and 'date placed' but no 'amount of finds' which would be handy.
Yes I'm a stats man so for me it's stats, stats, and more stats :-)

Not asking to change the guidelines for caches that are bigger.
Just wondering if, where caches that are placed at train stations that are too small to carry TBs, a second larger cache within the .1 can be placed.
I only mention train stations as in the UK they are actually a HUGE form of transportation.
Hotels, Rest areas, major highways and restaurants are too common but train stations and airports I think would be a great place to have larger containers making it easier for TBs to gain long distance.
All the time micros are placed near these methods of long distance travel with TBs in hand it prevents larger caches being placed which would be more effective.
If I got to a train station or an airport and had half an hour spare I would most certainly look for a large cache to see if there were any TBs to take with me. If the only cache nearby was a micro then I couldn't.
A no brainer if you ask me

So you're asking to change the guidelines for caches that are bigger? Well why not include bus stations? Airports. Hotels. Rest areas. Major highways. Restaurants popular with travelers. Where will it stop? Then there's the fact that trains are not a large form of transportation.

Yes most train stations are indeed very busy, and could have the bomb squad intervene too.
I was thinking more along the lines of placing them within the .1 radius but far enough away from the station to make larger caches easier to hide.

I decided to go with just the four waypoints but the novel idea of using QR codes which open up a picture of the next waypoint to find each one I think will make it an interesting enough hunt.

I think its just a shame that this has to be a mystery cache instead of a multi cache, as personally I think mystery caches aren't quite as popular as multi caches and seem to be avoided.
Should my cache really be a 'Mystery cache'?

Whilst thinking of ways to help my trackables get further afield it dawned on me that having cache containers big enough to hold TBs next to each train station would certainly help.
You turn up at the local train station to go on a trip, arrive a few minutes early and think to yourself, lets do a quick cache hunt and see if we can find any TBs
However, the so called 'sidetracked' theme seems to have taken up practically all of the train station options around the UK meaning no more can be added close to the entrances.
I've looked into the caches placed near a number of stations and they all seem to vary in size but the number of micro caches easily out numbers the size big enough to carry TBs.
Does anyone else think its an opportunity missed to get TBs further afield just because the containers placed near train stations are too small?
I know there is a strict rule regarding caches placed next to existing caches but in the case of any Sidetracked themed cache, could there be an exception and larger containers placed close by just so that train users can pick up and drop off TBs with great ease?
Or even a rule stating Sidetracked caches must where physically possible be a size big enough to carry the average TB
Just a thought

I agree the final container is worth upgrading to accommodate swapables etc.
I am now in the process of tweaking the 6 mid hides to include something a little more interesting.
Just a thought though,,,
There are two existing caches in this park already that are situated at the far end, opposite to where I plan to start AND finish my hunt although a couple of the mid hides come close to them.
As these wont be shown as a cache on the map I'm presuming they will be fine to have there.. Correct?

Hi, being new to Geocaching I'm eager to set up my first cache hide.
Are multi hides popular or avoided?
My plan is to navigate users to the first point that then has the coordinates for the next point and so on covering the radius of my local park.
Six in total hidden magnetic strips with the coords for the next one written on the underneath of each magnetic strip with the final hide a 35mm container with the log book inside.
I've applied for permission from the relative authorities.
Just want others opinion whether this is a popular type of cache?

Hi, me again,
My brother has downloaded the app created a username and password,
So I logged the trackable as dropped in a cache not visited seeing as he now has an account.
I checked his profile and it says account not verified.
Will this make a difference when it comes to logging his drop in the states when he gets there and any future activities?

I then hand the trackable to my brother who takes it to Orlando and drops it in a cache. He notes the cache name for me...
Do I just then log it myself saying it was dropped there by my brother visiting.
If I'm in the UK won't it look odd that I've dropped a TB in the states?
Surely my brother has to register so it looks like he took it?
Any chance of a step by step guide as to how to start the TB on its way?
You do not start the logging from the TB page.
Here's what you need to do; Decide what cache you want to start it from (closest to home maybe).
Go to the cache page and click on Log your Visit. If you are not actually finding the cache, you choose Write Note. Then write whatever note you want. At the bottom of the page where it says "Dropped off any Trackables?" you select the action of "Visited" for the appropriate TB.
Your brother will have to have a geocaching account, unless you want him to use yours. Edit: or you want to do the logging yourself as you mentioned.

'Tis true... it's a baaaad idea to rely on a muggle (family or not!) to do your beckoning.
You fail to mention -- business or leisure trip?
If business, he is gonna have other things on his mind. Your TB probably won't be placed at all.
If leisure, then there is a stronger possibility that he will at least make an attempt.
Either way, if it is a 'whirlwind' trip, it will either be not placed or muffed-up. Geocaching isn't his thing... so it is of little importance to him.
If you do give it to him for the trip, did you even consider logging a first cache with your TB at home? That is... "launching" it locally. Seems like a waste of 3400+ miles (London to NYC) for having it travel so far.
There are TB 'exchange' people available. There is a current, on-going thread in this particular forum dealing with that. Personally, I would go that route rather than to subject my bro to something he has little to no interest in doing.
I dare say, you have a bit to learn about what happens to trackables. Not always, but often at the hands of muggles.

He is off purely for pleasure. Meeting his friends in Orlando then travelling north to New York in a vintage English style UV
He's there for a few weeks stopping off at various motels the lucky so and so, I'm very jealous
I had a quick look around for some possible cache locations and I'll teach him to search for the larger ones to fit the TB.
I was thinking of logging it in a cache first, that would be a good idea.
I'll talk him into at least looking into the whole GC idea/ experience to get his juices flowing a tad.
He's a keen photographer so I'm sure he'll find some inspiration from the locations he could possibly stumble across.
And give him a hiding if he leaves it in a trash can somewhere. Ha ha!!!

He does have the GC app on his iphone though so will be able to locate caches when he gets there.
If I give him a TB to place in a cache, are there any do's or don'ts beforehand?
Should I just activate it and enter the details of where it was left on the activation page once he has done so?
Id just like a TB to work its way back to the UK from where ever he drops it in a cache.
