  1. Any printable ones Or ones, like swampier, higher and rockier or Bradley Campbell type as in use no bacon grease. We are all in your debt, you have redeemed the honor of New Jersey, you and your partner are to be congratulated for your dedication to your sport and your community. What a gargantuan effort. Rock On!!!
  2. Woops , another facet of the mysterious process cleared up. Thank you!!! Will make sure that I did, I think I did but now I have a direction to go in. Good thoughts to you for being so patient.
  3. If the approver places a review note and the hider responds and thereafter does not receive feedback, should the hider assume it will not be approved, it has not been explicitly rejected, it has not been approved and should the hider then archive the listing and go and retreive the cache, if it has been out for ah lets say 3 weeks or so, not that I am talking about any particular hider --Seriously, for those of us who do not have that much hiding experience , I find that the approval process remains something of a mystery. I do have one out and I was thinking maybe I should go pick it up and archive the placement. Being that it is 3 blocks from work it is not that big a deal. There is a TB in, so I don't really like the idea of just leaving in limbo.
  4. After it is done, come back and give us the cache by cache-- just have fun.
  5. The fact that you ask indicates that you may think it is. Boston is 1 day alone and that does not do it justice,. Acadia and Bar Harbor is a full day alone, sunrise on Cadilac Mtn. is one of the 1000 things to do before you shuffle off the mortal coil. Coastal Maine is a full day alone. Newport RI, Fall River Battleship Cove and Museum Mystic Seaport 1.0 days alone. See the aquarium in Boston instead of Mystic. That is 4 days alone just for must sees, not to be missed and the like without (blasphemy) any caches. And if I were to put in a 5th day is would be on that magnificent spit of sand, Cape Cod. So my trip would be Newark to Mystic/Fall River/ Newport overnight at Courtyard Marriot North Side of Town. Next Day Cape Cod , early whale watch and shop P Town, Fish and Chips at the Surf Club and walk Great Island in Wellfleet, stay in Orleans and catch the Sunset from Rock Harbor. Next Day Boston--all day, Faneul Hall Marketplace, Freedom Trail, Constitution, Swan Boats in the Commons, Aquarium, Next day Cape Anne and Gloucester and on up the Maine Coast, LL Bean in Freeport, Kennebunkport, Kittery, slow meander and last day Acadia and Bar Harbor, try and get a flight out from up there. Try and get a few caches in just for the heck of it. Cape Cod has a pretty active group as the paper Cape Cod Times has featured geocaching stories several times, in fact I think it can be read on Cape Cod Times On Line. I would do a zip code search on each town mentioned and select a couple to incorporate, for instance in Newport RI there is a magnificent cliff walk--yep it has a cache--right in mansion area. Similarly Wellfleet on Cape Cod has Great Island Cache. Boston has a couple on Freedom Trail. Have fun.
  6. It was a tongue in cheek, but I pulled the post because it offended you. My apologies if it did. I mistakenly thought that a little good natured chiding would be taken as such. Believe me, I fully understand this is just a diversionary pasttime meant to be enjoyable and a little fun.
  7. http://voncachstein.tripod.com/id1.html Try these guys in NE Pennsylvania
  8. It is like a tupperware container with tabs that clip down on a latch type of configuration and theoretically create a water tight seal. Water Tight is essential. Best plastic cache container is a large Metamucil container, after all contents are gone. The big wide mouth **has a screw top, it is roughly the same size as a 30 Cal Ammo Can and can be spray painted or taped. It is free and readily available in households through out the country. The wide mouth allows access to the contents easily. ** Sometimes referred to as the LI Mouth.
  9. And people wonder why there are lawyers
  10. No he says he put it in a JMBella owned cache---clear as well MUD--he even mentioned the name of the cache. Neutrals don't know about new unapproved caches do they ? Completly innocent query from one not so experienced. "Since there were no rules against it, I have already placed the bug in a new cache - TCJP. It's owned by JMBella and it's not meant for kids (not anymore at least). Since I don't want to choose sides here (although I should favor NY) because I think that it will be more fun, I placed the TB in a neutral location here on SI."
  11. An unapproved cache, oh, like the floor of my car!!! It has not been logged in anywhere yet. Another TB picked up and not logged, oh that is another thread.
  12. So much for the 10 mile limit, the NJ Flag has already moved 25+ on its first move.
  13. That looks like a Jersey Rabbit, here is a picture of a LI rabbit. I saw the other day He was eating a dead coyote. My son thought it was great sport to wait until I walked up to take the photo and then give a sharp yell. Forgetting that I would be driving home.

    FYI

Rt 202 closed just below Sunnybank, Rt 23 closed. Oakland flooded. I hiked into Briansnats Longpond Ironworks, the level of the Wanaque was frightening, 5++ rapids , so I did not want to get to close. I was also on the wrong side of the river, with a gps reading 112 feet, so getting too close was not really a factor So that is why that bridge is there? I was by myself this morning. East Road Parking areas flooded, road had water over it at points. Wanaque Res at historic high levels. Went into Burnt Meadow from north, road washed out at bridge 244. Was able to get across, started to walk up to Lake Sonoma, road was a quaking mess of mud, so I went elsewhere. Dangerous conditions near stream, stay back. Downstream flooding will increase probably well into tomorrow.
  16. I went to check conditions , predict it will not move for a week. Local property owner (near trail head) gave me permission to cross his property and told me where I could make stream crossing, but he said I would have to walk downstream along the river, make sure you don't slip he said, I said I'll pass. Anyone tries to cross Westbrook will most likely die. It along with the Wanaque are moving at Class 5+ levels. East Shore Road had running water on it. The approach from the back side was washed out at Bridge # 244 Burnt Meadow Road.

    FYI

All of Northern NJ is covered by the flood warning, areas hit by flooding last week have not had opportunity to subside and as such a severe potential exist for additional damages. Pompton River, Ramapo and Passaic River Basin is one such locale.
  18. Uh, Harry, I am not sure of this but I think it might only be 4/2/05. I know that the streams and rivers are beyond flood stage, raging torrents, water moving at biblical proportions. And at least one requires a steam crossing described in one log as daunting, and that was by a lithe 25 year old.
  19. There is no game. cache test, they are gonna have people running from cache to cache and it is always gonna be oh, you were 15 minutes late, oh, you were 20 minutes late. That's the joke, they are all in on it. Got watch these guys, great joke.
  20. Finally dawned on me this morning, now I know why this was kicked off on April 1, it has been an elaborate hoax and joke on the community by several well known jokesters. What with the bluster, bravado and the shifting rules. Very Funny gentlemen APRIL FOOLS I could not imagine a more screwy game with rules changing while underway. YOU HAD US BUYING INTO IT. Even put it over on the New England crowd.
  21. I no longer watch any television at all. There are myriad little places that people know about , places of historic or cultural or natural significance and beauty that are infinitely more interesting than who is diddling who on the tube. It is also a good way to get a little exercise in.
  22. You both are. As of Sunday at Wawayanda there was still a solid cover of 8 inches of slush on East and North facing. With all the rain we had all that snow should be arriving in Wayne, oh right about now. Yep right on schedule. Oliver's Army at Sunnybank was flooded after work. Suspect Miami to be the same and of course the unapproved I placed on Saturday last past is most definitely swimming.
  23. Do you know if this is over by the Feeder Canal?
  24. I think they said not more than 1805 feet above sea level.
