I am fairly sure that the implementation date for EGNOS is as yet unspecified (still quoted as "summer 2004"). I can hardly wait for the accuracy of my GpsR to improve.....

How do other cachers get to know about newly approved caches so quickly??
I am registered with "Skydiver's New Cache Alert Tool"(!) which supposedly E-mails me as soon as a new cache is approved within my specified radius BUT on two occasions recently whist online a "New Cache Alert" came through, I instantly went to the cache page........only to find that the caches had already been logged.
Particularly frustrating when one of the caches is only four miles from my front door!
I would welcome comments from any other FTF aspirants...

Sportrak Pro bought in UK Feb 03 date code 19/02 has cracks on 4 of the 6 srew mounting points.

My Sportrak Pro shows cracks by 5 of the six lugs..... but I am in the UK

Having read "Daisy&me"'s post about applying the upgrade and findig that "it worked fine", and also the statement on the Magellan page that the fimware upgrade was for North America only, I decided to go ahead with the upgrade.
I find that the upgade has increased the number of features that the Sportrak pro offers significantly over those which were previously available to me in version 3.01.
As I use the GPSr for other applications as well as 'caching the added functionality is a particular bonus. There appear to have been absolutely no negative effects from the upgrade

Decided to upgrade firmware anyway....some useful modifications so worthwhile (for me....)

What actual difference to your Sportrak did the firmware upgrade make? My Sportrak Pro is running version 3.01, 2002, and I would like to know if it is worth upgrading?

I have a Magellan Sportrak pro on which WAAS appears to be seamlessly integrated, in that it enables whenever it sees the satellites are on, and gives excellent accuracy! I can hardly wait for EGNOS to go permanently live......
