Yah the app for android is total crap now. I already paid for it and premium membership so I don't feel bad about switching to cgeo. It works so much better.

I'm on the Buffalo area where we cache in snow more often than not. I made a query of caches that include the snowflake symbol. But, usually we cache on hiking trails that double as snowmobile trails. I j u st assume an extra half star difficulty with snow cover and leave phantom tracks as well.

Where should I go for Western New York/North Eastern PA info?

I am a newbie as well, and I have the Explorist 500. I think it is more than adequete. It did take some studying and question asking around here, but I finally got the hang of it after about a week. Im not sure what the differences in features are, but this has everything I need and its even waterproof.

I found a container I really like that is a lot bigger. I have a micro in the spot now. The new container is big enough for a travel bug motel, which is what I would like to do. Do I just update current listing, or archive it and start a new one?

Allright. I got them onto the EasyGPS but now, cant get them on the GPS. After I hit send it askes me where do I want to save the file....etc and end up in a big circle. Maybe my GPS isnt set to recieve or something?

So, I followed your instructions. Only, my pop up said save not save to disk. So I just hit save. Then when I opened the EasyGPS there was no waypoint downloaded. Am I totally hopeless or what?

There is more to becoming a premium member than just downloading caches. Check out
http://www.geocaching.com/subscribe/
Besides being able to automate your searches and have them delivered to your Email, you are supporting this website (please correct me if I am wrong). Being new to this whole thing as well, I wanted to support this site, because they have been very helpfull(patient) with my questions.
I'm sure there are lots of people who can talk about the membership, I'm just discovering some of them myself. I figure $30 means in one year, I have to drink 10 less Hot Chocolates.
Downloading:
I use the pocket querries to load information into GSAK.
GSAK=Geocaching Swiss Army Knife.
From there I load the caches into my 500 and load them as waypoints into Mapsend.
You could data enter that information into GSAK. I don't have that sort of patience, and would go crazy.
OK, so, I guess I forgot to mention I need it spoon fed. Forgive me but I dont even know what pocket querries are

Do I have to be a premium member to download caches? How do I get them in there? The instruction page on geocaching.com just confused me even more since Im REALLY dense when it comes to this stuff. Also, the box for the GPS says Geocaching application is built in??? OMG. what have I gotten myself into??
BTW every time I hit download on the website it gives me an error page. Tells me I am not authorized..

My Explorist GC is stuck on a screen that I think might be a windows type thing? It occured when I was downloading PQs to it. I tried resetting and rebooting, taking batteries out, etc. It wont even restart unless I take out batteries, To further complicate matters, my computer is a Chromebook. So if the fix is relaint on Windows, I might be SOL.Can anybody help?
