  1. Why would 38 candles be too many, unless it's a Cupcake? Darn, I'll miss the Monkey because I'm the Cook that day. I just noticed that April goes without a HOTM...Hmmm. Anyone up for a Friday the 17th, 3 Night Caches and maybe a side trip or along the way Cache?
  2. This Night cache is there as I have just wandered back from there. 4/2/09 1700 But for some unknown reason it has been just archived. Please bring it back! One of the folks wanting it Archived has never found a cache nor has a DNF on this extremely fun Cache. Sure a few of the Glints had been covered by dead leave but I fixed them for Cruiser Guy. I'm sure he would not mind a nice fixer upper. So with this in mind go find it... N47 30.670 w121 50.982 It's Alive!!!
  3. Wow! Jackster what a milestone for only being 28..
  4. Do you mean this... http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=163350
  5. PM has been sent.... Thank you for all.
  6. Watch both in action but had stayed with 60csx but I'm experimenting with the Nuvi 500 and have positive results once you learn all tricks.
  7. First, are you using a Mac? If so you should be using Garmin Road Trip, Garmin Mapinstall, and Garmin MapManager. My GPSR 60 series and even the Nuvi500 work with Topo 2008, 2009 and of course Northwest trails. Now the Nuvi, I must turn off the Street Maps use the Northwest trails instead and just remind myself if I need to go to an address turn on the Street Maps. To add a topper the Nuvi was got me the correct way into 'South of the Falls'.... I'm sure this is what you may need to do for your Oregon by going in and turn NWT on. The one problem I do see is and That is in work is to view BOTH Topo/NWT at the same time within Roadtrip on your Mac. Good luck and happy caching... DasMutt
  8. OK.. Try this on for size. Go to an REI, find what you like and fits you the way you like. Now go home, remember the sizes, brands and research sites for a cheater price than REI and you have just done yourself a big saving. Yes, us REI members get a rebate a year later and we still shop around. Campmor and other places but not the Cabela's for stuff for camping/hiking. Scout around for sales.....
  9. There I was heading toward I-5 on Friday the 30th and in front of me I spy a black vehicle 710-YKQ with the legendary Flying Spaghetti Monster emblem on the back. Who could this be or was I having just one of those ... oops, I just forgot.
  10. Interesting.... I just wonder if the terms 'Mover & Shakers', best describes this feast you call Frito Pie?
  11. If you used the small lunch size bags you could just scoop the Chili into the bags and use them as bowls. The clean up would be so easy. Next would be the capture of the next generation of BioFuel. Did I say that out loud?
  12. If If can get a Hall Pass, I may just make this one. It's been a while since the last HOTM in May.
  13. You call this deep? Just at our fence line on the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie... Anyone for a swim or perhaps a Kayak Trip?
  14. OUCH! Tibula at that point of fracture not good and you kept going. What an animal! Check the corner of the ankle common to fracture. Do you see the small chip? Upper corner. Now for the bright side, this X-ray could become the NEW Signature piece for your hike of the month. It could be given out to only member of the group for that month for some unique reason. The rationale would only be known to you. You could still do drive by caches and you could be the first to accomplish the North Bend Phoon to show off your walking cast. Good luck to you on your swift recovery. MtnMutt May HOTM
  15. Has anyone tried adding Northwest Trails to the NUVI 500 or Oregon T? Was it a success? How did you go about it? Anyone?
  16. I came, I cached, I saw, I cached, I survived & today I think I'm tried. Thanks for a great event and thanks to all to make one feel 'Welcome'. Now to slowly log all these finds, so I can officially claim my 600th find.
  17. I checked and re-checked, then made my decision as 2 Bronze. The Bronze just makes this one stand out as an old Treasured item you dug up someplace wrapped in oily old canvas. The silver just didn't suit this coin for some reason but that just me. Now if it had come in Black Nickel I would have gotten more. The fact remains it is a fantastic coin to be an owner.
  18. A BIG THANK YOU! for all your work. It seem to get easier to load each time now. Garmin Road Trip is working better with it as it evolves.
  19. Where does everyone meet on Saturday morning as I'll not be able to make friday evening if my schedule stays the same.
  20. As I said on the event page... Ok..Ok.. I'm trying to get a pass so I can attend. To be very honest I have no clue as to what to do or expect. Once I arrive is there anyone I can tag along with, so I don't just stand there stare out in space? Please let me know! I would not do dinner thing but try the event. MtnMutt
  21. Have you considered this to help your weight loss program? Meals, eating utensils and etc. A Spork can be a spoon/fork, knife you already carry why have 2. Meals, can be prepared before hand, sealed in a nice Seal-a-meal container, then frozen to last a few days on the trail. You can boil water, which cooks the meal and eat out of the bag, then wham.. you now have a hot beverage to drink with your meal. Now go unpack your pack and lay everything out before you. What do you have which has been duplicated? Do you really need it? Check over every thing you have planned on taking and then ask yourself will I really used this. A tent is nice but a lite-weight tarp can make a lean-to. Are you taking a couple of treking poles, these can be used for poles for your lean-to. What I'm saying, 'What items can be left since I have this which can be used for that? One last comment before stepping down from this soapbox. Make a list of EVERYTHING you take including pack, clips, what ever. As you sit down that first evening check-off everything you used. The next morning do the same, once you return to your vehicle again go over your list. What could you have left? Please enjoy your trip and keep smiling, provide someone with an ECD of your return. MtnMutt Yes, I would loved to have been going on this adventure.
  22. OK.. MAC Head, as some of you have seen today that Project Bobcat has gone away. It is now called Garmin RoadTrip. Fixed a few bugs/glitches. Ready for your Upgrade.
  23. Great... Just Great! I get home early, log in just now and find everything sold out! Just Great! Thank you very much!
