  1. The waiting would have been the appropriate response from the beginning. Simply because this is the oldest active cache in Washington, does that mean the CO has lost the right to replace it at a time of his own choosing? Frankly, I'm pretty shocked that some people seem to think otherwise. I see no reason why we should not trust that Hypnopaedia is quoting the CO accurately. AJ already disabled the cache, which is an indication that he is aware of the situation, but he is under no obligation to communicate if he chooses not to. I sure hope no one hikes all the way up there to log the throwdown, only to have their log deleted later. If you head out and find a cache missing do you just walk away and document your DNF due to cache missing or do you pull out a reserve cache from your Backpack and log your find then notify the Cache owner telling them you replaced the missing Cache? Most folks who have been around the Cache Block would agree. Most Cache Owners would be very much pleased that you replaced it. Northwest Cache Owners & Cachers are a tight group and everyone is out to help each other. We want folks to find them. Spare a tank of gas for any owner and drop a cache & drop a note to the owner you replaced it. It's all about TEAM work and helping each other.
  2. Since I'm not a member I should not say anything but if I were. I try to place a cache so the person or group will wonder about the Unique Location, View or just interesting idea of the Cache. I find Micro but I do not like them, Lamppost Caches are a bore, just to throw something out there is not what its about. Challenges are exciting for some, while others will ignore. I do not have time on my hands to run around here & there. I choose my next cache carefully as if I will I be anywhere around there in the near future. Sure I have a few FTF but only my pure luck. So, if someone want to build a Challenge then either accept or ignore it. I will now scurry back under the rock from which I crawled from under. Mutt PS.. Has anyone seen my Flea Collar lately?
  3. Maybe this creature is going for the record of FTSC 'First To Steal Cache'. I know someone has stolen Pole Hole many times but I keep replacing it as I refused to give up. We all do or should carry a backup Cache in our packs. Each should do their best to replace the missing Cache and notify the owner of the replacement. But do not mention the replacement in your log of that Cache. This may or may not confuse the Cache Thieve. I wish there was a way to know who the Watchers are on my Caches as I've wondered if I could narrow down the Thieve. There are many cachers who and they are Super but somewhere this Thieve knows when a replacement occurs. So, everyone just replace, notify the owner and do not mention in your log you replaced it. Good Luck Everyone, Mutt
  4. Interesting.... for those out here in the NW and those in Europe, there are about 30 of my Coins named after special Cachers and some even now have ownership of those coins. Then there are a few which Cachers have traded for but these are very rare. You can never know where these can pop up. I do notify the Coin Namesake as to where to find the coin prior to letting the public know its location. One unique thing about these Coins is they are not for Flatlander Caches as these are hid in the Mountains around the NW. You maybe at a event and next thing you know is I hand one to you.... Who will be next?
  5. Thank You for a wonderful time! You did a FANTASTIC JOB putting this together and I had fun working with your crew. I hope I can help out again sometime in the future. That my story & of course I'm sticking to it., unless I forget. OK, I forgot where this was leading to.....................
  6. I use the Wilderness Pungo 120, the Dashboard can hold all sorts of Goodies.
  7. I'm trying to get a Pass to go! Three Fingers Jack... oooohhhh, Cold Beer, Burgers & Fries, Caches Oh My!
  8. What about a couple of large Garbage sacks, plus they cover packs very nicely when Hiking or that overnight.
  9. I thought the road to the Lake is closed during the week due Logging Trucks moving very fast. Weekends is the best since no Truck traffic. Hope to be at QFC by 0630.
  10. Interesting as it is 12 miles as a crow flies from QFC or about 30 minutes. I'll try to be there at QFC then...Thanks. I can't wait to see the NEW Ride.
  11. Pick me up at Pour House or QFC at 7am or a tad earlier?? Please?
  12. Within the Geo Community there has to be numerous Artists and several talented Welders, who between them could create a Virtual Cache. This cache could be very similar to the the Mission 9 Project A.P.E. Coin. This huge steel plate Plaque could be set in the old location. It would require a large team to place & no individual would be able to walk off with it. Everyone would want to have their picture with it. Just throwing another option out there as a Memorial to a great cache....
  13. Since my last time out in this area was an HOTM going the other direction and have been in need to finish these, I'd like to go. Now the kicker here is I'm supposed to head to Oregon for another Dog Show. If I can pull the 'You owe me Trump Card'; I'd be able to go but would need a ride from the Pour House or QFC in North Bend. I know someone hates the Pour House Blue Cheese Bacon Burgers... after a long Hike a Cold Beer. I guess maybe the QFC would be a better chioce I should know more, by Wednesday.
  14. Too bad you do not have access to some nice 2" Plate Steel and a welder. You could build a superb Cache that no one is going to walk off with. The hinges would be of Plate and the locking mechanism would be armored. It could be the same size as the original and it would be APE Proof. Even the design could be Welded in. I'm still having issues with this thief... How can they show it off to friends? 'Dudes, check this out I stole. Look at everything that was in it.' They must really like being Branded a THIEF & lower than Whale Doo. This is simply amazing...
  15. I was checking the COWWS Site today and it appears that a Aldonza643 added several thousand JUNK TOPICS. It seems as if it a BOT has taken over. So sad........
  16. The following Caches are being Archived as I have removed the actual Cache Containers today. If anyone want to place their own Cache where these were Located, you best jump on these Locations quickly as they were Prime Real-estate. R-U-Nutz - GC10QNJ The Ridge Night Cache - GC10MCD Just Hanging Here or There - GC10KKQ Go-4-It - GC10KM1 Two of these were Night Caches... MtnMutt
  17. Draw a line through the current plate number keeping it visible yet voided, then put on the NEW Plate number. you even put a note below explaining you sold the vehicle and you should not have a problem. DMV will have the record of date of sale to cover you.
  18. Ok, Ok, Yes , I forgot to tell you who the new MtnMutt Coins will represent. Here's the the new list of 5 Coins which will be thrown to the Wind. First was WRASTRO, Boonie-Medic, W7WT, Kiersolvd and of course FugeFinders Thanks to all who threw their vote either by this link or sending me an e-mail. So, with that said.... Please keep an eye out for these Coins as they are released in the wild. I try to notify the Coin Representative ahead of time as to where they can find the Coin but sometimes someone else grabs the Coin and either moves it or just grabs its for themselves as there only a few out there and those that have acquired one you should feel very lucky. Catch Ya'll on the North Side of the Slope................... MtnMutt
  19. Very nice ride. I just do not picture you in Black, I can only see the White ride. Still it's a very nice ride. Congrats to you & the new ride.
  20. Interesting fact......... 07-01-2011, Little Si Parking area & Mt Si Parking, signs are up and say Discovery Pass Required. I roamed in to check on all these REQUIRED PASSES. How about 80% did not have them and did not see any TICKETS on those without the PASS. Just maybe the 1st was a freebie day. Today, 07-02-2011, will be a true test as Saturday Morning these lots are packed, we shall see if anything is done to those without a PASS.
  21. I'm still having problems with this issue that a Grown Child could act in this matter. Then sit back in their Child Cave and smile about their actions. They have lowered them self to a Common Thief or lower than Whale Doo. They must not have any self respect and those that may have called themselves this person's friend can now no longer look them in the face and say 'FRIEND' only 'FIEND'. So sad that they never grew into adulthood and understood 'Life is Tough & only they can make something GREAT of themselves.' This was great game that anyone could play and enjoy, then have someone step forward to ruin it for others and those new to the experience. I step back into the Woodworks, knowing this is a SAD day for all. I'm for one that is Heart broken on this day as others are as they learn of Tragic Action. May we all find PEACE/CLOSURE someday............................
  22. Say it's not Gone! This can not have happened...
  23. The Rover comes to my neck of the Woods, does not say a thing. My feelings are hurt! Still Congrats on the 5000. I'll just go sit in the corner
  24. Just to give notice, that a MtnMutt should be in your neck of the Woods around September 20-25 at the Manitowoc, WI Expo Show Site. This happens to be the 2011 Basenji National Specialty. So with that in mind... do you have any super Caches I should try and hit during my stay? Now with that said, 'Do you have any very nice Micro Brews, where an old Mutt can lap up a few good Cold Beers? Think about it Caching & Cold Beer go hand in hand out here in the Northwest. So, I figure you must have some for the Mutt to drink nearby. For those who don't know me but went to GeoWoodstock in the Northwest last year... Remember the COWW that parked you? Yep, that was the Mutt. Now if you have any nearby Mountain Caches I could get to I could or may drop off one of my very rare Coins. So keep an eye open as the Mutt cruises your neighborhoods. Bye for now and let me knows...PLEASE. MtnMutt
  25. This is interesting as I've seen the vehicle with Compass Decal on it's windows on Mt Si road and even in North Bend. I'll have to stop them and ask a few questions. Like.. Has Groundspeak approved this venture?
