thanks, makes sense to me. I have never been to the Canadian/Us border but I have always heard it was very easy to get across. I never new there where bottle necks at the Border. I thought it was like crossing a state line. Where everything in the next state was 33% off I have been to the Us/Mexico border and there is a huge delay there so I think I got some what of a grasp of what your Talking about. But just an FYI Americans like to be done to. LOL www.ManuelCasillas.com [This message was edited by manuelcasi on October 12, 2002 at 05:03 PM.]

K2Dave America=liberty=freedom=commercialism You can always move to Russia and Geocache there. I just checked there are four caches to keep you busy. Oh, wait there no longer communist. You could move to Cuba there are two there to keep you busy. But wait didn't Castro just buy a couple of million dollars worth of American hamburgers and other goods (yes he did). Ok never mind I guess you just have to stop playing. Bye. www.ManuelCasillas.com

I Got a FRS Radio. Now what? (reconsidered)
manuelcasi replied to manuelcasi's topic in General geocaching topics
I started to think last night that if we do come up with an official "call" on the radio, we may be giving the enemy our position. What I mean is that park Ranger (not all) who are looking to Ban geo-caching may start to monitor the radio as well and move in for a surprise ambush. So I thought we should make a "call" that only geocahers would recognize. We would have to change it every so often. I came up with something. It goes like this. 1st geocacher on the radio "The purple cow sings moon-river at midnight" 2nd geocaher would respond with "The chicken eats mercury in Main" What do you guys think? www.ManuelCasillas.com -

No drugs in caches, huh?
manuelcasi replied to VegasCacheHounds's topic in General geocaching topics
Man I hate it when there is a new cache in my area, and I am not the first to find it!!! And what proof do we have that the campers only "found eleven suspicious, tape-wrapped bundles" I have a feeling that there where more than eleven. What a great cover. Turn some in and your the good guy. But what was hidden behind that rock before the cops got there? www.ManuelCasillas.com [This message was edited by manuelcasi on October 10, 2002 at 04:37 PM.] -
I kind of feel silly running Threw the woods by my self with a radio hoping that if there are other geo-cachers in the area, they are 1) more than one of them 2) they will be using radios? Last weekend, I would press the talk button and say "Geo-cache" Hoping that if some had a radio they would respond. I was in middle of the city and I did get some responses. Mostly "what? over" I respond "Geocache over" response "what? Geo-cat over". My question is should there be a STANDARD, for lack of a better word, call on the radio? I think there is as many if not more cachers out there caching alone. What should we say into the radio? Hopefully it will be something that doesn't make us look any funner then we do running Threw the woods with a GPSr, Cell phone, Frs Radio, and a bag full of happy meal toys. www.ManuelCasillas.com [This message was edited by manuelcasi on October 10, 2002 at 06:20 PM.] [This message was edited by manuelcasi on October 11, 2002 at 11:55 AM.]

11th find for me. But more important my four year old niece, Catlyns, and My first find together. I help my brother (her father)with transport to and fro from Houston to SA. When ever I am blessed with the call to help and spend time with her. We were on a tight schedule, but I had my GPSr and my Palm pilot with my newly loaded pocket quarries. It was right there. I had to take her on her first hunt. I would have gotten a no if I had asked if it was OK to stop for this (their tight schedule). After the find and she got to take a prize (she picked a pencil for school and the peze dispenser) she is so ready to go with Nino (spanish for godfather/uncle/daddy's brother)to look for more surprises. YA! www.ManuelCasillas.com

Louisiana Fall Meeting/Camp out -- WOOHOOO!
manuelcasi replied to TJ Willy's topic in South and Southeast
OH man! I WAS going on a road trip to Louisiana. I never thought a little rain would keep Geo-cachers home? Now, Before you respond I am from Houston Tx (we get hurricanes too). I think Geo-caching in wind and rain just makes for an even greater challenge. Come on Louisiana LETS DO IT IN THE RAIN! www.ManuelCasillas.com -

Jamie Z. "I'm working on plans to paddle the Yukon River in about four years." Wow a 32 year adventure guy would love to join that expedition. I am a Cyclist my self and I can assure you the challenge is not empty. Your profile mentions long distance human powered adventure, I ran as a pacer for Dr. Ramp. in this race. http://www.badwaterultra.com (sorry I haven't learned how to insert links yet) Thought you might enjoy this. We are going back next year and we can always use an extra runner or crew. Be-leave me it is one of the toughest races anywhere. They also have a 400 mile cycle race the link is some where on that page. www.ManuelCasillas.com
