  1. I give up for now. At least I've doubled my post count in just a few minutes.
  2. If second time round you don't succeed....
  3. Testing. Euphemisms Audrey, Euphemisms.
  4. Hi Scoff! make sure your firmware is up to date. I was chatting with peeps at an event and people have said that updating the firmware on the device is one of the best things you can do to improve performance especially as regards to the accuracy. Any problems - give me a shout. Its not like I don't live a million miles away! Hi Scott Thanks for the offer. I will drop you a line if it doesn't improve tomorrow. I have the latest software version 2.51 Beta, and the GPS software version is 2.60. When I run the Garmin webupdater, it tells me I have the latest everything. I think I'll be sending it back
  5. Thanks for the suggestion, but I calibrated at the start, then when I changed batteries a couple of hours into the walk, then again in despearation later. Gave up with it well before the end of the walk, just left it on to measure the total distance of the walk when I finished. I was so tempted to throw it at the closest big rock on more than one occasion, but I'm not that wealthy. If anyone has any more suggestions please fire away, I don't particularly want the hassle of sending it back etc, so anything that may help would be great.
  6. Took mine out for the first time on Saturday. Lovely 15 mile walk which would have been about 1.5 miles less if the arrow would actually point me to the actual location of the next waypoint instead of making me walk in L shapes or semi circles. Not impressed with that. Again on Monday did one of Scottpa's Lakes series and was being pointed to the other side of the lake until I got within a third of a mile or so. I knew all along that I was on the correct side of the lake. Hopefully out with it again tomorrow, and if it doesn't improve, it's going back. I'm giving it time because I've found some threads on the internet talking about switching various things off, like the compass or the backlite etc. So I'm going to have a play with it.
  7. ...but the differences being you (probably) had an education yourself once, any one of us could be disabled at any time through no fault of our own, and one day we'll all need facilities for the elderly. Dog ownership is usually voluntary. Dog ownership is usually voluntary, but so is using the local park. I don't use it but should those that do pay more because of the grass cutting, bin emptying etc. Should I pay more because the Countryside or Highways departments maintain some pathways that most don't use but I choose to. Maybe it's extremes, but there's always some things that one group of people choose to use whilst others don't. Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go, but as you may have guessed I'm a dog owner, but I like to think I'm quite a responsible one.
  8. On my bit of the North Wales coast there are 50 within 5 miles and 86 within 10 miles. The problem with being on the coast is that half the area covered by the radius, is of course under water.
