  1. I dropped my Magellan MeriGold in the river, it was in there for two minutes. Fished it out, it was all wet inside. Magellan advertises this unit as waterproof and meeting the IPX7 standard, which is 1 meter immersion for 30 minutes. It was in 4 inches of water for 2 minutes, and completely wet. (Everything was buttoned up properly). Anyway, tried to contact them, was on hold for 45 minutes. I finally hung up, and sent them an email. That was 5 working days ago, no reply. After reading about all the trouble others have had with their miserable "support", and my experience, the replacement is not going to be their Explorist XL, it'll be a Garmin 60 cx. Magellan has gone down the tubes.
  2. Epson is pretty fast with their shipping. I ordered some Epson parts one afternoon, they were here 20 hours later. But I hope the BC coins show up first, I have a couple of them in there...
  3. I'm bringing a batch of tradable geocoins. For you poker chip collector/traders, I will also have a batch of "Special Edition" poker chips for trade. The only place they'll be available will be at the geobash, for trade only. Bring along your geo-poker chips and wooden nickels 'cause I collect them too.
  4. Took Nothing Left Nothing Signed Log You'll also see TFTC quite a bit. Thanks For The Cache
  5. The one at Cabela's is GCBA53, Tamarack Cache. There are two in the northbound US23 rest area just south of Cabela's, and you should be going right past them if coming from PA. They are: GCT13V -Northbound 23 Travel Bug Stop, and GCC4FB -Northbound Rt 23
  6. At one of my caches that I had in place for several months, a letterboxer placed his container right on top of mine. My first reaction was, "hey, what the....", then I realized I didn't "own" that spot and that letterboxing was cool too. So, I just modified my cache description to advise geocachers that there was also a letterbox there and to be sure and sign the proper log. That seemed to work OK. I like to move my caches every 6-12 months to give local cachers new stuff to hunt and to minimize environmental impact, so that cache has since been archived and another one placed a hundred yards away. Last time I checked, the letterbox was still thriving in its original spot. Hmmm, I was going to place a new cache today, maybe I'll make this one a letterbox hybrid and place it next week. Haven't done one of those yet, and it'll get me a new icon! []
  7. OK, how are they activated? No activation codes with the coins, geocaching.com wants the code, and the manufacturer, kvcoins.com, is down for another week.
  8. Would you believe...... WYOMING !!!!!! 2 bronze and 2 pewter
  9. They FINALLY showed up here in NW Ohio. Postmarked April 3, not March 17, 23, or 27th.
  10. Nothing in NW Ohio yet. This is getting REAL old.
  11. My Ohio mailbox was devoid of coins today.
  12. Here's my 2 cents worth, since I too have some money wrapped up in this. At this point, he needs to do 3 things: 1: Get all the coins mailed out NOW!!! 2: Get on this forum and tell buyers -again- that he has mailed them out. That won''t mean diddily squat right now, but he needs to communicate. 3: Several days or a week after people begin reporting the receipt of the coins, he should write the forum again and apologize. Sincerely, with no excuses. A similar thing happened on another forum I belong to, where a guy offered to make up some hats for the forum members. He took the money, ordered some hats, stalled and stalled, and finally mailed out a little over half of them. Then he disappeared from the forum, but he couldn't disappear entirely, especially from those forum members who lived locally to him. Now he can't show his face to these people or attend events related to that hobby. If he had just made it right, his life would be a little less complicated.
  13. Since it has the correct GPS unit, I'll order a couple more than I normally would have.
  14. Received notification, PayPal sent for mine.
  15. Put me down for about 3 of them.
  16. Looks like they're sold out already.......
  17. Yeahhhhh. Mine showed up today. Nice coin. Thanks to everybody who put this together.
  18. This is a great looking coin! Looked at the Coins and Pins website with the link in a post above, and noticed that the section for the 2005 Compass Rose had this notice: "Each coin is marked with a copyright notice on the edge of the coin. If your coin does not have this mark, then it is not a genuine compass rose coin." Has copying been a problem with geocoins, or just this coin in particular, or is the notice just a preemptory thing?
  19. Ordered my 4 regular and 1 LE, paid via paypal.
  20. Received invoice but got charged for international shipping to Ohio. Email sent to address Thorny1 listed above, asking for correction.
