  1. Then maximum distance that a cache owner may move a cache is limited, but a reviewer can help extend the limits. The maximum distance that another is allowed to move a cache is limited to exactly zero feet zero inches! Some people have big...nerve.
  2. Good on ya. We all stick our foot in it once in a while. We are human.
  3. Nothing cheezy about it. I often do things for strangers and only ask that they help a stranger in need some time down the road. I don't know if it will raise my standings in the universe, but it can't hurt. Seems like you owe one to the cosmos. Change a flat for a little old lady. Next time you go shopping buy an extra couple of cans and drop 'em off at the local pantry. Mail a couple of bucks in an unmarked envelope to your favorite charity. Doesn't matter what just as long as you help if you can.
  4. Keep in mind that many place will consider that a motor vehicle and prohibit it's use on bike paths.
  5. That can't be right. Someone wrong about something? On the internet? I think you're mistaken.
  6. Hi FM. (It has already been established that you are watching this thread.) I see you are still listed as a PM. If you contact Groundspeak I am sure they would be happy to cancel that for you. Happy caching. GOF
  7. Crap! Does this mean that I gotta learn how to text?
  8. Start with wearing boots and jeans if you are going off the pavement and manicured lawns. Sometimes it is just a matter of saying to yourself "Self, we need not go there." and walking away. No your limit and cache within it.
  9. Perhaps this is that cacher finally making good on that promise?
  10. Well huh. I didn't realize that those Google adds were there. I think it is a matter of having trained myself to ignore the ever present banners on the internet. I think you should email Groundspeak to get an official ruling on the situation. These adds are not a direct form of commercial attack on our wallets. What they are is the way that average Joe gets to run these kind of things without hocking the house. It isn't like you are saying that people need to click on an add to log your cache or even saying "As long as you are here look at the neat stuff I sell". Seems more like "Oh, that stuff in the corner? That is some crap that belongs to the landlord. " Good luck.
  11. HAHA. Keep in mind that geocaching and this forum are two different things. Around here complaining is the big sport.
  12. And here I was, wondering if it had oil or mayo on it.
  13. The discoloration at the end of the spring looks to me like it was heated. The jaws look as if they are sitting loose on the spring, as if they are not supporting any tension. I believe that the "I shoulda disabled it" comment was in jest. But if you are in doubt just toss in a puppy.
  14. I see no problem with having the information on the cache page. You could even use the info on the plaque as part of a puzzle cache. The question you need answered is if access to the building, plaque, and/or bench by the general public is permissible. I think you will need specific permission, with contact info, from the school if access to buildings is going to be required. It may be required if access to the campus is not open to the public. Contact your local reviewer. They may have more info on any policies the school may have. Your reviewer, at the least, will know what he/she will want to see to satisfy permission and access issues.
  15. As long as there are no issues with the cache don't worry about it. Those who want to find it will. Those who don't, won't. Such is the way of it.
  16. You need to take a step back there CW. TPTB take a dim view of name calling around here. Civilized, Jeesh!
  17. From afar, but not so far as not to be heard, shout out "HEY! What the hell are you doing messing in my drug stash?!"
  18. That song always made me want to puke. Your version ain't any better. Sorry.
  19. Using a unit specific account name links the cache page to a profile page that can be tailored as needed. I'd think that in the profile you'd be able to say this is who we are and this is what we do.
  20. Create an account under the name "Whatever Count Sheriff's Department's Search and Rescue Unit" Your account name is on the top of every cache you place with a link to your profile page.
