  1. An etrex unit will get you as close as any other. A couple of things to check: Make sure you have your Lat/Long units set to hddd mm.mmm. And make sure your map datum is set to WGS 84. When those two are set correctly, and you've entered the cache coordinates correctly, an etrex will get you within 30 feet of the cache.
  2. Are they all very recent finds that you just logged? If so, sometimes it takes the cache maps time to update the data.
  3. Like a litty bitty GPS? Sorry, couldn't resist. What kind of equipment do you mean? Cache cnotainers? Try ebay, search for 'geocache'.
  4. Nice image. Any chance there is a full-sized version available online somewhere?
  5. The Garmin Legend fits your criteria perfectly. $122.95 http://www.gpscity.com/item-garmin-etrex-l...etrexlegend.htm
  6. Ohhhhhh. I'm thinking a Mapsource Route can be saved then converted (via GPS Babel perhaps?) into the appropriate file type. Not sure of the specifics with that, though.
  7. This explains how to do that with Mapsource, GSAK and PQs... http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...s+along+a+route
  8. This will help... http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=8749 And this... http://home.earthlink.net/~prime.suspect/geolex/
  9. There's a recent thread about this around here somewhere. Here.... http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=135432
  10. Another thing that would be nice... If you could build the PQ from the cache page you want the PQ to be centered on. That would save a step or two. The GC#### could be a clickable link with the option 'Build PQ Centered On This Cache', or something similar.
  11. Here are some sites I have bookmarked that concern codes and cyphers and such. It ought to give you a good idea of what's available. Introduction To Codes, Ciphers, & Codebreaking http://www.vectorsite.net/ttcode_01.html A quick and easy ROT13 encrypt/decrypt http://www.rot13.com/index.php This is a very handy site. It not only encrypt/decrypts ROT13, it encrypt/decrypts ROTALL and several other conversions. Lots of devious conversion puzzles can be created with this site. http://www.pookey.co.uk/binary.php This is handy for creating and breaking substitution codes http://www.kirby98.fsnet.co.uk/Decoder-Random.htm There are lots of different tools available. Like the man said, Google is your friend.
  12. 1. Auto parts stores, Wal-Mart, lots of places. 2. I don't think so. As a premium member you could search by the 'less than 1 hour' and 'kid friendly' attributes. That would get you in the ballpark. 3. No, entering the coordinates by hand is not considered cheating. Nor is sending 500 waypoints to your gps all at once via software. Whatever way you use to get them on the machine is fine.
  13. My sentiments exactly. (Except for the adding a waymark part.) For me, Waymarking itself just doesn't have that WOW factor. Dunno why. I wish them the best of luck, but... back to caching.
  14. Thanks, that is exactly what I needed. Right click on the KML file, click Edit, click Refresh Rate. Knew it was something along those lines. Appreciate it...
  15. Create a PQ of the caches you want then bookmark the resulting search page.
  16. Can you get PQs with Waymarking? I looked but it doesn't seem like you can. For that matter, does Cachemate or GSAK support Waymarking?
  17. Can someone tell me how to adjust the refresh rate of GE's placemarks so they refresh more often? Thanks...
  18. When the log is so wet you have to add your own scrap of signed paper. When you're FTF and the hider did not include a logbook.
