  1. But the perceived difference is the topic. Is this something that should be discussed elsewhere?
  2. I've moved a mini ammo can TB but have no idea where to buy one.
  3. I've noticed the same thing. I'm in Savannah, right on the Georgia / South Carolina border. Judging by my thrice weekly '100 mile radius Not Found PQ', the new caches in Georgia easily outnumber the new caches in South Carolina by perhaps three or four to one and have for quite a while. I suspect the cemetery issue plays a major role in these numbers. For a long time, new caches in Beaufort County were few and far between. Used to be, a new SC cache popping up in my PQ was a rarity. Now, there's often one, maybe two a week. And, like Brett said, most of the caches that are there are quality hides. But, so were HL's cemetery hides that started this nonsense. So, I can understand if a cacher is apprehensive about submitting a new cache.
  4. If you like micros then the Meterie Cemetery has some great hides. Center your search around Viridian and you can't go wrong.
  5. That's pretty small. Can you geocache with it? The Garmin page didn't mention anything about waypoints.
  6. I have a GPSmap60CSx and Mapsource Topo. Can I load City Navigator at the same time and have them overlay each other? Is the top layer transparent so I can see both maps or do you some how select one over the other? I have a 2gig sd card, So I don't think memory will be an issue, but I assume I will need to identify an area of interest and just load the maps for that area. The 60CS allows toggling between City Select and R&R, so I suppose the CSx does as well. All I do is, in Mapsource, select the the City Select maps I want to send to the gps. Then I toggle over to the Roads and Rec maps (Pull down window - Top left of screen in Mapsource ver 6.11.1), select which of those I want sent to the gps, then save the file and send it. On the receiver, page to the Map page, press Menu, then Setup Map then use the rocker button to go to Information. Then press Menu again and you should see the options to toggle between maps, show both, show none, etc.
  7. What's the smallest handheld gps that uses the USB protocol?
  8. I found Roads and Recreation to be the most useful for me. I bought it for my Legend but often use it in my 60CS instead of City Select. It shows smaller trails and paths and streams.
  9. They're dollar bills. Do what you want with them.
  10. I don't have that model but if my Garmin 60CS was doing that I'd suspect it was trying to 'Follow the Road' to the cache. Try selecting 'Off Road' when you Goto a waypoint.

  12. GoogleEarthTweaker will turn your PQ results into a much nicer package. Google it for lots of D/L sites. http://tinyurl.com/2adpwm
  13. On the right side of your account page, ( http://www.geocaching.com/my/ ), you'll see: Google Mapping Features Download Geocache browser in Google Earth *About Google Earth KML Download that, as well as GoogleEarth if you don't have it already. That'll do you. (EDIT) Marco Island, huh? Nice area, I sailed from there to the Dry Tortugas once, had a great time.
  14. Nope. But you can link to a page with flash on it.
  15. I'm determined to keep my find count greater than or equal to my post count. A personal choice. Right now they are both 429. How's that for a coincidence?
  16. From my observations the site is running far better now that it has in the past several post-Christmas months. Perfect? No. But much better.
  17. This photo I took of the sunken shrimpboat Treasure won a contest for inclusion in the Georgia Geocachers Association 2007 calendar. The cache is called Sunken Treasure
  18. What was Darwin speculating on when he wrote that?
  19. You're probably right. But if it bothers you so much you should use this opportunity to educate our fellow cachers. Hide a puzzle cache based on Richard Dawkins' The God Delusion. Turn about is fair play, eh?
  20. This thread? Looks okay to me. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...151996&st=0
  21. Here you go... http://www.floridageocaching.com/paperless.htm
  22. So the string will reach to the lock? Seems like they're likely to find the cache well before they find the key. Could be fun though. Go for it.
