Thanks a lot for your reply. I've done it all as you suggested and it works a treat. I'll read more logs on this as you've suggested. Many Thanks to all who replied.---Shank's Pony

Plug your 450 into your computer. It should go into "mass storage mode". Go to "my computer", open up "garmin", then "GPX". Delete the gpx files you have, then reload new ones. "found" will be gone. Also if you have logged all your finds, delete your "visits" file also. Do a search on this forum, this has been talked about 10 times at least.

Hello Friends--I am currently using a Garmin Oregon 450 and can't find a way to delete "found caches"
The memory space seems to be blocked because of nearly 600"found" caches and has stopped taking any more new caches on board. New caches will record and say they are registered but the machine is not able to display them.
Any help please.

I guess that part of the geocaching game is FTF'ing around this area and it can be an advantage to have early indication of new caches. I will try to set up the Gmail for it till android has its own app or whatever.
Thanks for all who took the trouble to respond---Thanks "shank's

Ok... The iPhone had a head start... But still its GPS is very Early Learning Centre! I'm on my 4th... So I know what I'm saying iPhone users. I cache with iPhone app and my old trusty legend.
Android is pretty good, but needs it's apps to be measured in hundreds of thousands, not hundreds. Steve Jobs reckons 2011 is the year if the iPad 2... Nope, sorry Steve... It's the year when most iOS apps get ported to android!!!
My guess is wait and see!!!!
That said... My iPhone doesn't alert me to new caches... I dont have an official FTF on any of the accounts I've used... But I check the site if I have free time several times a day and have been to several caches before the first to sign the book!
Just hit your nearest 10 every day... And you'll be pretty happy!!!!

Why can't the system handle the android phones "new cache alert" Is it only I phones that are in favour ?

The only way to delete caches is to use a computer and remove the GPX files from the /Garmin/GPX folder on either the unit or the memory card if you have one.

Thanks for the info Andy I'll see what I can do with it. Cannot understand why this couldn't be sorted out between Garmin and geocaching!

Its a new machine to me and its probably a setup issue but everything else works o:k.
I've done the updates on the machine via the garmin site and still can't delete geocaching waypoints.
Self entered waypoints are deleting ,no problem.
Can anyone assist please. ?

Not really, Publishers are volunteers, and work in their spare time.
So it could be anytime.
Thanks for replying --It was a badly phrased question and what I was after was an email notification time
-
When you submit a new cache for review you should get an automated email which says that it has been received for review. It says something like 'the reviewer will respond within 72 hours'. This doesn't necessarily mean it will be published within 72 hours as your local reviewer may need to check/clarify some aspect of the cache with you.
If your new cache is within the U.K. there's a useful section in the link below which gives some further information on how you can assist in the smooth publication of your new cache. (See links to left of the site)

Got it sorted --It was the notification via email that I needed----Thanks for the reply

Just in case your question isn't, "when will my new cache be published?" but is instead, "what time was a particular cache published?" I'll tell you that there is no visible time stamp on the publish log. Those cachers who have notifications set up can receive an email when a cache is published. That email time is a close approximation of the time of publication.
Yes it was a badly phrased question--The email time is really what I wanted.
Thanks for your help

Is there any indication of when a cache publication time might be?

Since the new page format has been introduced my printers will not print about 25 mm of the cache descriptions on the l/h side of the page.I've tried everything I know to correct this but no luck so far.
There are no problems with any other web pages, only geocaching seems affected.
Anyone had the same sort of problem ? as i its causing me all sorts of hassle !

We're experiencing the same , but using the printer friendly option fixed it for us .
Thanks a lot, as usual I've missed the easy fix but is it al part of a master plan to reduce paper waste ?. If so its a good idea.

Alas I've tried trawling through ebay and can't get any sense from amazon. Still hoping a cacher can turn up with one.
