  1. I like it so far... change doesn't bother me much once I get used to it... I do miss the little button beside the report button that said "top" and would take me back to the top of the thread instead of scrolling through 40 posts to get back to the top... other than that ....
  2. still waiting here too... looked at the tracking # provided with my invoice and nothing since being checked through the sort facility in Eugene, Oregon on the 13th as of last night. I'm thinking the extra Holiday packages this time of year may have them delayed somewhere. I wouldn't get overly worried yet. Check your invoice for tracking and it may tell you how close it is, I'm not sure of your location, but I would expect delays in the Upper MidWest where all the snow has travel slowed as well.
  3. yep, coins arrived! I have to say they look great even without a golden ticket! Thanks!
  4. It's a dogs life... My bulldog just had surgery when these were taken this past summer. He was still a bit drunk from the anesthesia... his little buddy knew something was wrong and kept a close eye on him while he was recovering...
  5. Mrs LionsLair took a pic today of our litter before they got split up and all went to their forever homes...
  6. I think I'll play a trick on myself and put a return address of: Chris Kringle C/O Ho Ho Ho 12 25 Artic Circle North Pole then I'll think it's from Santa!
  7. awesome news! order placed and paid for! Merry Cristmas to me!
  8. and I got..... wait for it... wait.... NUN! ...sorry, cheap humor, I couldn't resist!
  9. I don't believe we have ever been referred to as a sockpuppet before ... and to imply we might have screwed over anyone is a bit premature. Let me know how you want us to present ourselves and we would be happy to do so. See our comments further down ... we will be pleased to do better in the future. I'm sorry you misunderstood me, my intention wasn't to imply you are a sockpuppet or that you had screwed anyone on anything. My intention was more to let you know that you would probably get a warmer welcome if you introduced yourself and let us know your intentions. I was only offering advice to you about introducing yourself a little better if you wanted a better reception. The reference to sockpuppets and screwing folks was to let you know what has happened before and the reasoning behind why introducing yourself would be a good idea... your first post was all we had to go on and nothing more than a sales pitch and all we see is you are new to geocoins and trying to sell us some overpriced coins, your GC profile tells us you don't cache or collect geocoins... which leaves us to conclude that you are only here to make $ by selling your coins... given the situation, it's only natural for questions to arise... who? what? where? I must have missed your website link somewhere, because through a little investigation all I found last week was that you sell cuff links on ebay.... from there I stopped further investigation because I wasn't interested. Please accept my humble appologies, and good luck with your coin sales!
  10. just an observation when folks are thumbing through my collection... I've noticed that most folks don't recognize coins according to metal differences, so LE, RE, AE, or whatever 'E' doesn't matter to most if it is only a change of metals regardless of rarity... color changes are noticed more often and are generally asked about if someone has seen a particular coin before and then runs across the same coin in a different color combination...
  11. that's fantastic news, and gives us something to look forward to in the upcoming year... I know it's a huge undertaken, but it's earned you a reputation and respect that couldn't be matched by "schlepping your designs off to other vendors!"
  12. After seeing another thread and thinking about the tsun coins I haven't gotten my paws on yet, this coin popped up and I had to re-read where things left off at... Steph, do you ever plan on reminting these? ...or are the 160 that were initially made going to be it?
  13. What makes geocoins so different? Shiny metal preciouses. That's the only way I can describe it. I won't comment on the rest; my own philosophy is to do reservations only. An exception to this was (and will be) the Mini-Doubloon project. I do ask for money up front for those, but only when we're ready to actually place the order (after all the designing and stuff is done). So anyone whose heart really isn't in it can back out at any time up to that point. Could I pay for the whole order up front and collect money when they're ready to ship? Probably. For project coins, though, I'd rather not. They're highly personalized and I'm not sure how successful they'd be if I had a handful of, say, "Schmuckcacher" doubloons that Schmuckcacher decided not to pay for. I am liable to think that people (other than rabid coin collectors) would rather have their own personal coins, and not someone else's. This point about project coins I understand, when ordering individualized custom work, a pre-sale is the only way a coin producer has to protect themselves from "Schmuckcacher" not paying for something they asked to be minted, but IMHO this should be the only exception to "pre-sales"
  14. I'll bite... I've got to ask... If you are worried about "getting stuck with inventory" then why are you minting coins for resale anyhow? I would think it was inherant risk for anyone that wanted to mint for resale? Is there an unwritten law that says once minted they must all sell within XX number of days or the minting wasn't a success...? ...personally I've never understood the logic behind thinking this way. please explain, and help those like myself understand... I am minting coins because I like designing them. My profit on a sale is pretty slim, so if I'm left with extras because people backed out, then I'll be losing money and will eventually have to stop altogether. If I factor in the time it takes to design the coins, then I really am losing money. For me, coins that don't sell in the initial run rarely ever sell. Period. If people back out on a reservation, I will likely never sell them through my store. I don't know if people just never visit my store except when I announce a presale or what it is (I am fairly far down on the approved vendor list). Sorry, I don't buy all that... the reason you don't factor in your time should be because you enjoy designing them, you mint them for resale to make $.... The only way you could lose money is through "over minting" or not selling about 1/2 of what you do mint.... if your losing money I would suggest not minting them at all, but simple answers would be to mint fewer (start small and remint if neccessary) or feel the design out and see if it appeals to potential customers... however, if you are worried about either of those then again I ask "why mint coins for resale?" it seems having them readily available to potential customers can only help you in the long run, If someone comes to your site and sees them available then they may be back in a day/week or two to purchase. If they see they are sold out or only available through pre-sales then they may not return. As stated before it's a risk you take as a producer of coins. I don't think that risk should be on your customers through pre-sales and financing your coins before they are minted. it works on the same principle that nobody should buy a bottle of wine before the grapes are picked or buy a burger while the cow is still grazing....

  16. I'm always asking these same questions when I see the words "pre-sale" I think many are confused on the diference between "pre-sales" and "reservations" ...quite honestly, unless it is something from a vendor that has earned my respect, I get turned off by the whole "pre-sale" idea and often don't bother to try and aquire the coin even after it is minted... I will however jump on a reservation, knowing I'm not responsible to pay for anything until the coin has been minted and ready to ship, if I like the design....
  17. nice design, but..... ...you've obviously done some homework to know to add tracking at GC.com to them in order to sell them here, but as stated (and for the record, I'm one of the leary ones) I don't think you'll get too many willing to take a risk on someone that has not established themselves in the coin community. All we see is someone with a free account, no cache finds, no trackables and very limited use of the forums, coming in here and offering overpriced coins.... For all we know you could be a sockpuppet for someone that has wronged several of us in the past. We're a pretty good bunch of folks, but as the old saying goes, screw us once, shame on you, screw us twice, shame on us... Maybe you should take the time to introduce yourself a little better and use the constructive criticism to build a better platform to sell your coins from.
  18. It is a very nice coin and I feel honored to have recieved it. It'll stay in the 'keeper' pile for sure! It's a travel bug I picked up at the event, it has a compass rose micro tag attached to it.
  19. Wow! get out of my head! I had to read this twice and make sure I didn't write this or was being quoted on several points... This is the exact reason I strated creating difficult puzzle caches, to make the cacher work for anything they feel they must steal from my caches, and they aren't broken mctoys and cheap mardi gras beads after the first 10 finders... ...the burr under my saddle lately revolves around hiding difficult caches and through the "a smiley at all costs" attitude, once one person finds it, or solves the puzzle, or finds any shortcut they can, I end up with 30 "found it" logs... Lately I've been placing micros until everyone locally gets the find and then going back and replacing it with a large after a few month... it seems to increase the life of the cache quality and swag I generously place in them...
  20. wow, take a few days off from reading a thread and you miss alot... ...although I haven't been chosen (if the devil is scared, I know the aliens are too!) I'll still make a guess in the cointest... An antenna topper for your geomobile so that Mr Gray can track your whereabouts at all times! ...they are out there and they are watching your every move!
  21. That is Andy and Ellie of TeamSnook, currently ranked number 2 in the world in logged finds. They where presented the medal for reaching 25,000 finds at the time last year when this photo was taken( I think they have 31,000+ now) ...as far as what it is or says? I have no idea. Cacheapalooza is an awesome event! It's very well organized by a great group of cachers! I'd encourage anyone that can attend to do so. I'm looking forward to three-peating this event and hunting down Capt' Hook and his booty! I'm bringing rum and pirate wenches for bargaining power!
  22. I don't brag about my good coin acquisitions as much these days, but I am pretty stoked at all the pathtags and awesome coins I either purchased, traded or was gifted at the "Going Coastal" event in Savannah, Ga. this weekend... here's a few that stand out that I've unpacked so far... I huge thanks to some awesome coiners as well! - I'm forever grateful!
  23. Who you calling old? I believe it was UOTrackers that did them. I'll see if I can dig out the old thread.... edited to add old thread link... http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=178812
  24. I've got one I'd be willing to part with... got any traders? want to purchase? email me if you're interested...
  25. I was hoping and looking forward to doing a table dance for a tip from Capt. Hook at the "Going Coastal" event in a couple weeks while I was manning the grills, but the Bell Witch just posted something about him not being able to make it... guess I will have to wait until Jan before I get to see "Capt. Hooks Mystery Booty"....
