  1. He has spent thousands of $$ on Travel bugs and now he wants to release 1000 traveling geocoins. Guess what I am pretty sure he is gonna be investing thousands more $$$ when this is done. Even at $15 each you have to sell a ton of geocoins to be able to release 1000 activated geocoins into circulation. This is gonna be a money losing venture As far as the 91 finds and 29 hides... I can't answer to that but perhaps Tommy trojan has choosen to spend his time on bugs because he is not physically able to cache as much as the rest of us. Or perhaps that is just how he is having fun tracking his travelers and is more interested in that than finding boxes in the woods. It seems irrelevent why he has more bugs than finds. I just find it suprising that people are so quite to critize someone who has invested thousands of dollars in geocaching. I wonder how much $$ these people that were quick to critize the price have contributed to geocaching. Then of course there is the old argument "if buyers quite buying the higher price coins the sellers will stop selling high priced coins" But guess what.... from what I can see the buyers are still buying... and of course the complainers are still complaining..... Honestly I wondered if the complainers are ever buyers or just always complainers So SUPPORT GEOCACHING! SUPPORT TOMMY TROJAN AND ALL HE HAS DONE and DOING FOR GEOCACHING! CLICK HERE FOR YOUR GEOCOIN TODAY!
  2. I don't think it is very appropriate to accuse Tommy Trojan of trying to Finance his venture by selling this coin. First he is offering them for sale because people keep asking him. Second take a lot at Tommy Trojan Profile You will see that they own 675 travel bugs. Take a min to do the math on that. not sure what it cost them to buy them but if they were $5 each that is $3,375. So Honestly I think I would encourage people to buy a coin to show thier support for some people that have given so to Geocaching. SO SUPPORT GEOCACHING! SUPPORT TOMMY TROJAN FIGHT ON! ORDER NOW CLICK HERE! BTW it looks like the price has gone up to $15. I REALLY hope this is in response to all the people in this post that did not like the price. I am going to order one right now. THANKS TOMMY TROJAN for doing this coin and all your other significant contributions to geocaching.
  3. If you don't want to people to copy your idea then don't make it public. If they still come up with something similar then you know they did not copy you. Lot's of ideas have come up in these forums. Some ideas have become reality yet many more have not yet happened and may never happen. Making coins is a big investment. Ecspecially now if you want to do GC.com tracking you are talking about a 1-2k investment. I think there are a lot more people with ideas than there are with 1-2k that they can just throw around and not care if they get thier money back.
  4. Hey AtlantaGal, Did you put out that relief auction yet? I hope I did not miss it. Please let us know
  5. I did not see exactly what you saw at geocoins.net but It sounds like the same thing as www.pathtags.com. I personally would avoid calling them geocoins. I think they are very cool sig items and I also like the term geotokens. I do think they are very cool but honestly I am pretty sure I would not trade my trackable geocoins that cost me over $5 each for a thin metal token that costs about $1 like the pathtags.
  6. Wreck Diver thanks for putting out that cache. I really like the additional requirement to include the fire fighters names in the logs. Really makes it personal. I have never been that far east but this cache is now on my "want to do someday" list
  7. thanks for sharing your positive Sushinegang geocoin experiences. I know some went missing from the first cache I placed them in. It is so nice to hear some have had a chance to Spread the sunshine!
  8. Odd too since I know who that is. Anyway, nielsenc sent me one of the LE sets to eBay for his nephew Tanner, but when I saw that other one on eBay, I decided to wait another week. So if you want an LE set, watch for the Tanner Relief auction coming soon. AG please let us know when that charity aution is up. Will want to get a bid in on that
  9. FYI the auction has been updated to clarify that this coin was not one of the free coins that were given away to honor those special people for thier duties FALLEN HEREOS LE COIN AUCTION Otherwise I would agree with the SHAME ON THEM for EBAY ing a free coin they were given in honor of thier service
  10. Cool Idea. I suspect that auctually having a system that is automated that could tell the difference between a geocoin and some other item someone could try to pass for a geocoin would be pretty near impossible. Geocoins come in all shapes and sizes. I do really like the idea. I suspect any system would not be completely fraud proof and would need to depend on a little bit of the honor system. But I suspect there may be ways to put something out to minimize your risk of theft. Of course you could always get one of these machines. You would be limited to trading for a certain kind of "coins" or of course dollars but that would be kind of cool
  11. got my Copper LE coin and it is activated TB PAGE - TB17E3F THANKS TO THE GEOSWAG COIN CLUB FOR THIS COIN. IT IS SUCH AN HONOR!
  12. Sent PM THANKS... That is so very generous of you...
  13. What a treat to get this coin today! THanks for making this coin! like the coin says NEVER FORGET
  14. treat them as swag. Basically any item that does not have directions on it or attached to it asking for it to travel or be logged I would consider swag. Trade up or even and you are doing right. We have wooden nickels with our team name on them and drop the in caches all the time. While I don't think they are as highly sought after as metal geocoins they are way more affordable. We got 1000 for $150 shipped.
  15. Does anyone know when they will be shipping this coin? just curious. would be cool if it came before monday
  16. Just for the record I am not an investor in this coin nor will I make a single penny if you click on the link below and buy one. ALIEN GEOCOINS Now getting back on topic I received my alien geocoin and it looks AWESOME! Great work Loggerhead!!!!! thanks for investing thousands of dollars so we would all have a chance to buy one of these! Signed, Very Satisfied customer!
  17. I have said it here before and will say it again... Cats make great swag. You just have to put your back into getting that ammo box lid closed. You could put a lot of cats in this ammo box no problem GCXTPX
  18. We like trackable coins. If you can swing the money I would say make them trackable BTW We buy and trade most any coin. We could care less if you sell it or trade only.
  19. My advice is to never assume just because you sent an email to someone that they got it. Or perhaps they did get it and replied but were blocked by your spam blocker With all the spam and spam blockers no adays it is very easy for a good company to miss messages. My advice is to post here with a attitude of "hey does anyone know another way to contact this company?" I had the same problem contacting them a few months back click here for the thread Someone suggested I contact nielsenc I did and he took care of me promptly click here for neilsenc profile
  20. Okay kids you pick out what you want and mommy and daddy are going to do a few more caches and will be back to pick you up

  23. we do a game our our event each year kinda of similar. except we ecourage every team to complete a sheet of similar questions When they complete the sheet they can turn them in to get a prize drawing tickect to win prizes. This year we gave out a brand new garmin 60csx GPS as the grand prize. So everyone did what ever they could to get an extra prize ticket Age of discovery 2006 GCVPF4 This game is a really fun way to make people meet new people at events.
  24. Wearing a FDNY shirt on the 11th is a great idea. I am a network administrator in a public school so t-shirts are a bit underdressed for me. but it is gonna be a FDNY T-shirt on monday the 11th. I am also a paid on call firefighter so I am trying to think of something else I can do. I know we have been putting a empty set of gear under our flag pole at the fire station. Wonder if my school would let me put a set of gear under the school flag pole. Anyone else have any ideas how to remember/honor 9-11?
