  2. no need to worry, there is no such thing as a platinum membership. the replies you get from this are bogus and have nothing to do wiht anything. it;s just a bunch of poeple saying "if i tell you i'll have to kill you" and a bunch of other crap. dont pay any attention. Yeah, what Arndtwe said. No such thing. Just a bunch of Hooey. Really!

  5. i bought three of those nano's from sbell. they work really nice! thanks sbell.
  6. A whlie back i was reading about differents "tricks" you can do with Garmins. And I saw that one thing you can do is put it into diagnostic mode. Well I did what ot siad to do and i never got it to work, can the 76 do it? If so, how did you do it? Please explain in detail for me so i can try it. Thanks for any help in advance!
  7. overall i geuss that if you count all the stuff i have from past years that use for caching, it's about $300 or so. i'm not really sure, it could be only $220 or it could be something else.
  8. there is already a thread about this in the geocachinng topics fforum, named cool cache containers (ccc's). you try this there are smany pages on cool containers.
  9. as long as you have permission it's ok to put a cache anywhere. the guidelines are so you dont get your self in trouble. they say you cant place in national parks and places like these. this sipmly not true, you place a cache on property such with, like i siad, permission. i would be careful what you get into though, you might find your self worse off than before. oh, and this should be in the illinois forum.
  10. here are some pics. it's to new to have real pictures.
  11. hmmmmmm, ive never seen that before. there really isnt a "typical" hiding spot. so i'm looking forward to seeing other posts.
  12. well, the new grand canyon glass overlook finally opened. it's a glass "horseshoe" that suspends from the edge of the grand canyon, a 3/4 of a mile drop to the bottom. the overlook has a glass floor that you walk on and it has no supports from below. the project cost 30 million dollars, someone really needs to place a cache here. the hint could be dont drop me, it's a looooooooooong way down .
  13. i think there a good idea, you can make a pamphlet or download them at geocaching-u.com. i cant remember the site but you could buy some geocaching permit card, mostly for kicks and grins, but might be useful to show to cops.
  14. well lets see, i crossed a creak today that was about 6 inches wide........ so i guess you can draw your own conclusion. on the other hand, there was a cache that i got a week ago today where soposedly you can make it long/easy or short/hard. well, we had a storm awhile ago and a tree fell across the creak making it short easy. it was uneventful, but i did almost the excact same thing as in the pic.
  15. March 12 by FAKERS(194 found) Talked to OWNER at tonights cachers meeting, he confirmed that the cache has been muggled again. I explained the spots that we have looked and the fact that we would have found it had it not been muggled, so we received permission to log this cache. TFTH - several times.
  16. might i suggest the the garmin 76? if you buy from certian places it is only $190 shipped! it is fairly well detailed and has quiet good reputation.
  17. sounds cool but, $650 . i mean geewiz, you could get the same thing somewhere else for about $200. or you could spend $20 on a tracfone and make your own.
  18. I’ve named a waterfall after myself, a creek after a friend’s dog, and a lake after that same friend, so it’s all good. You think I'm kidding? Snickers Creek, named after TotemLake's late great dog Snickers TotemLake Lake, named after...well...TotemLake and Criminal Falls. sweet!!!

  20. Chilling out has nothing to do with it. If he doesn't know it's bad ettiquette then someone needs to tell him. He's probably used to using uppercase with the dtty system and didn't realize it's bad form in the forums. So get off my back unless there are OSHA required hand rails attached. sorry about that. didnt realize you trying to help . i'll be more careful in the future .
