Hi Ethan and Lennie,
I don't think many NI cachers come on to the forums. You will get an answer quicker if you go to the FB page, The Emerald Isle Cachers
I can't really suggest anything for you, though I split my time between Dublin and Belfast. I'm sure you'll find lots of advice there

It's up again.
Thank you!

It seems to be gone again. I'm getting the same error as above. Who do I need to contact to get it jump started?

Sorry for the delay in posting, but I received my mission on Friday, and LOVE LOVE LOVE the coin! And I am a big chocolate lover, so you sure made the right choices! Nice to "know" a cacher in Ireland, sarahmur. We like to visit Ireland, so hope to meet you someday! Thanks very much for the wonderful mission!
Thanks, also, to Geocharmer81 for hosting the mission!
Hope the one I sent makes it on time for Easter. I mailed it the same day I sent a package to The Netherlands, and that one arrived last week. Here's hoping!
Thanks again, sarahmur!
Was getting worried that the package hadn't arrived , glad you like it!!
Thanks to Geocharmer81 for hosting, looking forward to the next one!

This is the chocolate biscuit cake I make for my CITO events. After much practice, the icing is easy enough to cut out now

I was trying to wait until V-Day to open mine but I couldn't wait any longer when I saw others opening theirs!! I'm delighted with my goodies, thanks so much Laval K-9!!
So happy too, that Maine Guy enjoyed his package!!

Just out of curiosity, who lives in Ireland? We have a cache that we hid in Ireland!
That would be me. Were you looking for someone to do maintenance?
Not right now, but I may take you up on the offer someday! We went to Ireland in November for four years in a row, but the cost has become an issue since we retired. You should check it out someday! http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC21G8R_putting-on-the-ritz?guid=976c260c-ef3d-423b-9461-3ba4dd6554bf
I've already found this, it's literally a few miles from my house. No problem to do maintenance, I understand Hezekiah was looking after this one for you, and I'm sure you probably know, he sadly passed away late last year.
Oh, no, we did not know that. How sad. Windsocker was originally who was going to take care of it for us, but he suggested Hezekiah when he couldn't do it for a while. Would it be okay if we put your name on the cache page as the one who will do maintenance if we need it? At this time, we are pretty sure there are two caches there because Windsocker replaced the cache once, and then somebody found the original. Thanks very much. Let me know if it's okay to put your name on the page. The cache has lasted a pretty long time!
No problem, put my name down. I'll investigate the two cache container issue next time I'm up there and let you know.

I suppose that only Northern Ireland is part of the UK and Ireland is not?

If I'm not mistaken, they are all in Prague, Czech Republic. All of which I have found.
I just did a quick search on Project-GC and the top two are indeed in Prague, but the third one appears to be the Lego cache in Berlin: GC13Y2Y

Hi thingthing,
there is a cache in Dublin called R2-D2 but it's a difficulty 5 puzzle : GC2NEGF
That's the only cache I know of in Dublin that has any link to Star Wars.

Hi, I am a muggle really as you guys have confounded me. I tried to find the Caches in Bray, Ireland at the Town Hall and at Christ church. I have read all the text but find myself scratching at knots on trees as I have not held one of these things in my hands so I don't know how to look. (Also my fellow Muggles were starting to stare so I hightailed it out-of-there). I know the one at the townhall is there coz, madningly, someone found it the day after I looked.. Is there a really easy one in Bray to find??? Does anybody meet in Bray? M
I live in Bray . I've found both those caches and they are absolutely tiny - smaller than you could probably imagine right now. They're nanos (google nano geocache). I'd recommend you look for something bigger to start off with. There are plenty of larger container caches in or around Bray Head. Try GC3BNRE, GC3P89R or GC43 to start with.
Also, I am hosting a CITO event next weekend in Bray, if you want to meet some fellow geocachers: GC58T2J

Offline Functionality
in User Insights
Posted
My thoughts on offline functionality - firstly, i would be lost without it as I cache across borders regularly and data roaming fees are not my friend!! Also useful when in the woods/mountains with absolutely zero phone signal .
What information is critical for you to access while caching offline?
Description, hint, maps
basic content (description, hint) - Absolutely essential
map tiles - not essential, but nice to have
logs - at least the last 5 -10 logs is useful in case of DNFs or comments about terrain or a multitude of other possibilities
cache photos - photos on cache description, no but photos uploaded by owner to the gallery (as in spoilers) very useful as they're usually only uploaded if absolutely necessary
log photos - not essential but nice to have if stuck
waypoints - definitely essential for multis and parking, trailheads etc
Of all the current information available offline, what do you never use? I can't think of anything I absolutely never use
What information do you wish you had access to, but don’t currently, while caching offline? N/A
How would you do things differently than the current offline functionality on the Paid Geocaching App? N/A
MAP TILES
How large of an area do you usually save for offline caching? (10 miles/km, 100 miles/km)
Usually about 10 miles, but it depends on the trip
Do you favor high resolution map tiles that take more space to store and longer to download OR lower resolution map tiles that take less space to store and are quicker to download?
No preference
Do you read logs while caching offline? If having issues finding the cache, absolutely yes
How many logs do you read? Last 5 - 10 logs
Would an ability to customize the amount of logs you have access to help? (Ex: 5 or 10 most recent logs, the first and last few logs on the cache, only Found or DNF logs)
IMAGES
Do you save images when you cache offline? How important are images while caching offline? If going abroad, yes absolutely. If you are having trouble and in a country with a language you don't understand, photos are the only hints you might have
How many images do you usually save? I didn't think there was an option to limit the number of photos so if i download 50 caches, i'll just choose to download the images. So my answer is: whatever the default option is.
Which images are more important? Cache owner images or cache log images? Cache owner images essential as there could be a deliberately uploaded spoiler.
