  1. I have not relooked at it lately as I have been a bit busy.

    I just wondered which part of it do I need to change so that it can be played as a Wherigo in my hometown and then be able to give coordinates to find a cache?

  2.

    I am slowly working on an open source Wherigo by the very talented

     Ranger Fox.... but.....

    I want this Wherigo to be locationless but it looks like it has a location in it.   (Please see bold parts of this new thread)
    zoneCenter = Wherigo.Zone(cartBattleship)
    zoneCenter.Id="ac5f193b-578e-4e51-ab2b-08a14e59f625"
    zoneCenter.Name="Center"
    zoneCenter.Description=[[This is the center of the game board.  Same technique as in Whack-A-Lackey.]]
    zoneCenter.Visible=false
    zoneCenter.DistanceRange = Distance(-1, "feet")
    zoneCenter.ShowObjects="OnEnter"
    zoneCenter.ProximityRange = Distance(200, "feet")
    zoneCenter.AllowSetPositionTo=false
    zoneCenter.Active=false
    zoneCenter.Points = {
      ZonePoint(36.07888,-79.79488,0),
      ZonePoint(36.07888,-79.79476,0),
      ZonePoint(36.07878,-79.79476,0),
      ZonePoint(36.07878,-79.79488,0)
    }

    zoneCenter.OriginalPoint = ZonePoint(36.0788333336512,-79.7948166529338,0)
    zoneCenter.DistanceRangeUOM = "Feet"
    zoneCenter.ProximityRangeUOM = "Feet"
    zoneCenter.OutOfRangeName = ""
    zoneCenter.InRangeName = ""

  3. I am trying to access my account and can't.  My email provider that I originally used has shut down so I can no longer change my password.  Please help.

  4. The point is that Geocaching.com seems to randomly and continuously make changes to its API which in turn affects all the other apps and programmes that use it.  Project Geocaching supplies the most comprehensive stats that appeals to a large portion of geocachers that have been geocaching for more than 5 years.  This information helps me and other geocachers that have been geocaching for longer than 5 years keep motivated.  The latest change they have made has affected Project GCs ability to record stats about travel bugs and geocoins.
    It would be fantastic if Geocaching.com worked alongside programmes and apps that deliver information in a better way than their products rather than against them.

  5. For what it's worth, I haven't seen a newsletter in several (2 or 3) weeks. Last time this happened, your email server's reputation with Comcast was so bad that they were throttling the heck out of your mail with only a few squeaking through every hour, and most expiring as a result. You switched mail servers for the newsletter so as to produce a new IP address to Comcast, but in the end, it appears that this band-aid approach may have reached the end of its usefulness. The reputation problem was being caused by far too many messages to invalid email accounts. May well have been a 550 error -- it's been a while and I would need to search for the original thread where I took the time to contact Comcast's security folks to determine the problem from my end (why gc.com wasn't able to do so is still a mystery to me).

    Again, if you can't get your mailing list cleaned up, I would suggest that SOMEONE write a simple script that can be run nightly to review your server logs so that you can know when an ISP is refusing your mail, and perhaps respond to the problem early enough to come to terms with Comcast. As was the case before, Comcast is providing a clear flag in its return messaging indicating to you why it's refusing your mail.

    Better yet, clean up the list so that this isn't an ongoing problem.

  6. Thanks. I sent a request for help at the help centre. I also suggested to my Facebook friends who have the same problem that they need to report this problem too. Now I just wait and see what happens next.

  7. The last 2 weeks myself and several other people have not been receiving a newsletter.

    It is not in a spam folder. I have checked

    I can see the newsletter via website but you don't receive notifications of Megas, local events and new caches in your area on that newsletter.

    I am sorry that I have posted this in lots of places. I have had no response from geocaching.com... This was suggested by someone else as the place to post this problem. :anicute::unsure:

    I've checked and there's not been a question submitted to our Help Center from anyone with your email address. (No one else from New Zealand has emailed us about the newsletter either.) I wish I could help directly here, but I'm not involved with the newsletter.

    If you've submitted the question, and I missed it, you should have a ticket number. PM it to me and I'll check to see what's going on with it.

    If you've not submitted the question yet, go here and categorize your question as 01. My Account.

  9. Since you've already posted in the existing thread in this forum:

    http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=332921

    wondering if you meant to post this new thread in the Website forum:

    Bug Reports and Feature Discussions - Website

    http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showforum=139

    You can ask a moderator to move this new thread there by clicking on the "report" button at the bottom of your post.

    B.

    When I pushed that button it said it was only for objectionable material. Not for getting in contact with reviewers.

    Sorry I keep repeating the problem. There has been no reply, no newsletter and no help.

    The saying is the squeaky wheel gets oiled.

    I thought I had put it on the website discussion forum?

    Thanks for trying to help

  10. I have not received my newsletter for two weeks. There are several other people in New Zealand who have the same problem. I know this through our local Facebook page. There are also several other people around the world who have experienced this problem. (This is on an earlier thread, it has not been addressed yet).

    We all know how to get the newsletter through the website. The issue is that we receive information about Megas, local events and newly published caches.

    It is not in my spam folder and I still have newsletter via email check marked on my page.

    Please help

    Nellie

  11. This week's newsletter had a subject line of "The Geocaching Road Trip ‘15 Begins Friday!" Mine arrived fine in gmail.

    Check your spam folder, etc. -- you likely know the drill since you mentioned Comcast.

    You can read about the Geocaching Road Trip at the Geocaching Blog.

    There are loads of people with the same problem. It's not in their spam folder and they want to see the information about Megas, events near them and new caches.

    thanks

  13. There are a large number of people in New Zealand who have not been receiving their newsletter for two weeks or just this last newsletter . I can easily find the newsletter on the geocaching page but it doesn't have Megas, events and caches just published.

    I have looked through this discussion and have not seen any suggestions.

    I have checked my spam folder and made sure that I still have a check mark next to - receive newsletters via email .

    Please help

    Thanks Nellie

  14. I am hoping I can find a way to make my Urwigo work. I have created the zones, items, characters.

    I have tested it in the field twice. Once myself on my smartphone and once a friend tested it on a Garmin after I modified it. Both times it had faults.

    I really want it so that when you collect all the items you get the answer, the coordinates.

    I got the maps, zones and tasks and managed to collect some items but others didn't work.

    (I used the move to player option)

    But I couldn't make it dependant on actions.

    So I tried a different method. The map did not show on the Garmin. So it was impossible to test as the map didn't show.

    Please help

    Nellie

  15. I have hit a brick wall trying to create a Wherigo using urwigo. :blink: It works fine in the emulator and then when I test it on my android phone or others have tested it tested by friends on their garmins it doesn't work. So I am hoping I can get help here.

    I can't find any help regarding Urwigo so I wondered if I could use Earwigo instead. :D

    Thanks

  17. I will be staying in The Borders, St Boswells to be precise from the 14th to 27th December 2014 and am keen to cache and or host or attend an event. My not so keen cacher husband does understand that I wish to cache. (After all I am spending time with my mother in law) so I am sure he will be accommodating to my wishes. It would be fun to meet up and cache with other cachers. I am visiting the UK from New Zealand. :grin:

  18. Thanks :grin: I had a wee look when I scrolled on Canada. It had lots of Street names and looked like what I use now. So I probably don't need to buy any maps. I was worried I might need to spend mega bucks on a new gps.

    Now I just need to do more research on geocaches that I can do with my family who really don't like geocaching :blink:

    It would be cool if I could manage to find at least one cache in each country.

  19. We are planning an overseas trip to LA, The Netherlands, Scotland and Vancouver. My family are not geocachers but I hope to find a geocache or 2 in each country. I have only used my GPS in NZ. It is a Magellan Explorer. Do I need to purchase maps or will it automatically work in any country I go to?
