Cool...not sure I understand though...your profile says you live in Australia and your lo makes it sound like you work there as well. I met a couple at the CREW event here in Waterloo tonight that had an FTF in New Zealand after a 45km hike in! Apparently they are still the only finders. I think they wer eliving here at the time so that has to be some sort of record!! wow and I thought my 179 km was a good distance.. and there are still several caches nearby without a find mostly hidden by Pushkin in Nova Scotia... come and get em

Well from my old army surveying days and using Gyroscopic orientation tools Geodetic azimuth was a term used for a TRUE Bearing. Geodetic North it the true north as referenced by Longitude lines It is the main reference for other bearings(Grid, Magnetic) to measure from. Kerry

Agreed, why noy let Canadians get in on this too, not like he information is going to be used maliciously, after all if you drive by and see a benchmark all you have to do is mark it and then you have the coordinates, not accurate but good for navigation. NRFCan could send the info in a slightly less accurate format if needed,, i was planning to use survey control points as caches ,,, more to follow Kerry
