  1. Here's their response to my email:

Thank you for contacting Garmin Product Support.

I am happy to help you with this.

I recommend , verifying the map-setup is set to "lock on road". I also

suggest we auto -locate the device. From the satellite page, press the

    menu

button , select new location and automatic. The unit then needs to be

outside in open sky view 20 min un-interrupted.

Beyond that it depends on acquisition ? It matters if you are

    matching

someone's predetermined lat/long , is it set the same as their position

    format?

It may then prove best to call support if it is still a problem.

If you have any additional comments or questions, please do not

    hesitate to

contact us via email or at the number listed below.

Please include all previous e-mail correspondence.

    Sincerely,

    xxxxxxxxx

  2. Instead of geocaches, I tried locating a geodetic survey marker. My Venture CX put me about 60 feet away from the target. This is way worse than the specified 10-16 feet accuracy.

If you are going to do such a test, make sure the benchmark is adjusted, not scaled.

I have a print out of the NGS Data Sheet. The coordinates are scaled! What does that mean???

I think Garmin will have to do something, because the product is not performing as advertised.
