  1. All done - you should all have your mailing addresses to send to now. I'm glad I limited this to 10 Hope you like your mystery trades - come back here and tell everyone what you got. Happy Caching
  2. That's all ten - thanks folks. There will be a slight delay in emailing out addresses - since not everyone sent their address. Once I get all the info will send you details. Thanks for participating.
  3. Brilliant - 7 entries so far, only three to go and you can start addressing those envelopes
  4. I've had requests to state No Micros - so no Micros please. Thanks
  5. I am participating in at least one other, but this one was intended to be quick and snappy. As soon as I have ten participants they will get their trading partner details. I think I have to wait until Nov 17th for my secret santa mission.
  6. Since I am receiving details of the coins offered in trade, I could appear to have an unfair advantage, the pairing will be done at random.
  7. First entry received, thank you.
  8. Ok just for the fun of it - and because it has started snowing. Post a reply to confirm you're up for it. PM me with your name, address and the coin you are offering First 10 responses only will count - I can't sit here all day, even though it's snowing. I will pair at random and send you details of who to send your coin to, they will not know what coin you are sending until it arrives, likewise you will not know what coin to expect. You must be willing to mail your coin anywhere, it must be trackable, unactivated and in good condition. It would also be nice if someone took this on again - so I could participate Edited to add - no micros please, thank you.
  9. To alleviate any communications problems with either your ISP or via PM on this forum/Groundspeak or your geocaching account, try opening up a publicly held company email account such as Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo. You will find you can receive email from any of them barring a server crash. ~J Thank you CinemaBoxers - already done. Just trying to publicise the fact that I my not have received some posted messages in the hope that this will be viewed and the senders concerned might pm me again.
  10. I have not been getting any emails, although I do get log entries for caches and TBs, and the weekly notification email of new caches. Contacted Groundspeak who responded very promptly and advised it was possibly a problem with my ISP. Since they are closed until tomorrow morning I decided to change my account email address to a googlemail account. So in short - if anyone has been sending me messages regarding my coin trades and coin adoptions and and I've appeared to ignore you, I am truly sorry. Please try sending me a message again. Thank you.
  11. Sorry, we could not find your Nick name from our shipping record. Please kindly let us know your first name, the city of your shipping address and the date of you Paypal payment. We will trace it again upon receipt of the above information immediately. Thank you! Haima (the father of sssooocool family) Sincere apologies for the time it has taken me to respond to this. I have been confused by the email messages received from Paypal. It appeared to me that payment had been made, but on looking again today it listed as 'reversed'. So I used the request for payment that came from Chu-Yang Huang - and the payment should now be made properly. Please let me know if you require any more information, thank you. We have received your paypal payment and will ship out your order today. Due to Johnny (Chu-Yang Huang) has just changed to a new department of the computer company he is working; he has to work late each night. In order to give him more time to rest and date, I, Haima (his father) and Dorothy (his sister) will handle the correspondence and shipping for him. Haima Thanks for the update - but I am a little concerned now that I have paid twice - paypal shows a payment made on 29th October - which has been taken from my bank account, now there is a second payment dated November 7th. If you need any more information from me please let me know. Thank you.
  12. Very nicely put TokenCollector, perhaps Groundspeak could review their guidelines on the timeframe, this might help to lower the expectations of a less experienced cacher.

  15. Life turns on a dime. Monday someone may very well have had all the time in the world. Monday night at 5:23 PM the police call about an accident and everthing has changed including how much time you have for caching related actitivies. That was my point. Every situation is different. In some, they may very well have the 2 min you want. Point taken - I completely understand your point of view, however - if logs are still regularly being made for finds etc - doesn't that tell you they can spare 2 minutes ?

  17. Provided you are checking your email, and even if you are, are not tied up with other evenets that have you put caching related items on the back burner. It is good manners to do what you can. It's also good manners to afford others some patience if they need it. If someones life is so busy they can't spare 2 minutes to send a quick email to someone - then they shouldn't be lifting TB out of caches in the first place (and if they have time to do that - they can make time to send an email), otherwise it's inconsiderate - in my opinion. It's also outwith the guidelines of the game. The greatest thing about this game is that we can all play it the way we want to, but we should respect the guidelines and our fellow players so that it remains an enjoyable experience for everyone. Edited to keep this post on topic. The joy of this game is that we can all play it the way we want to, and that means offending some people because their perception of what is fair and right may be different to our own. I made copies of some of my coins intending to release them as copies, but having discovered real coins in caches and enjoying that experience, discovering a copy of a coin and not particularly enjoying that experience, I decided only to release the original coins and I have kept the 'copies' I made at home. I see far more real coins out in the wild, in fact I have only ever seen one copy, so I don't believe it is becoming a more common practice.
  18. QUOTE Eartha Two or three months isn't really that long for someone to hold a bug. Maybe there aren't that many caches near them, maybe they have a life outside of caching, maybe something happened. END QUOTE gc.com highlights inventory items together with a reminder to you to let the owner know as a matter of courtesy when no action has been taken after two weeks - I consider 2 - 3 months without any such contact to be inconsiderate - however much a life one has outside of caching - it doesn't take two minutes to send a short email with an update, even if it's to say I broke my leg and I won't be out caching till Christmas - its just good manners. In my opinion.

  20. Thanks BlueDeuce, a very considered response which I now happen to agree with.
  21. I had considered offering to send a duplicate coin, unactivated, but could see from his profile he already has one. Even if I got a response to your suggestion of offering to send a pre-paid envelope - surely the most minimal effort would be a quick email - even if it only said go away. This is not a case of my coin being stolen - its a case of the game not being played the way it should, and when trying to ascertain why getting no response. Other cachers have contacted me via gc.com so I don't believe there is a problem with my emails.
  22. And what should we do if that doesn't work? I have someone that has had one of my coins since April, but I dont get a response when I email them, so if I were to offer to send a pre-paid envelope, I'd just get ignored on that too... I'd just be happy to get a response, even if it was just saying "Oh, sorry, I lost it." or whatever happened... ANY response! Having looked to see the mission you set for this coin I really feel for you. I hope you feel able to release another with the same mission and that it only ever meets conscientious cachers along the way who will enable it to complete its mission. I agree with you about response - anything other than silence would be appreciated.
  23. I don't want the coin back - it was promised to someone else. I didn't want to get into a slanging match either. I would like an explanation. But the main purpose of the original post is as I stated - if there are accessible records on geocaching.com for all to see, why should cachers receive the protection of anonymity on forums. Keeping someones coin for 6 months without keeping the owner updated isn't allowed by gc.com guidlines either. Plus one email after six months is hardly harassing - I have emailed since and kept it polite all but the last time when I ended it 'what is your problem' - but I dont think that to be rude, at least it wasn't intended to be.
  24. I would be interested to hear any version !! Seems he "chooses" not to respond at all now. I've had one email - saying coin would be moved on the next day - I've heard nothing since and no replies to emails I've sent since asking why my coin wasn't moved on as promised. I wonder what 'other' version there is?
  25. I only got a reply to my email (sent to his profile contact address via geocaching.com) after a 'gentle reminder' from geocaching.com was sent - I was told my email had gone into a spam folder - so what address pray did geocaching.com use ? And yes - I saw cacher concerned enter the forums this evening. It would be nice if they could offer an explanation.
