  3. I have a Garmin 60c and I am trying to set it up with Delorme Street Atlas 2004 Plus USA for tracking. I am using a usb cable to my lap top. After connecting the gps to the laptop, I start Street Atlas. When I click on Start Tracking. I receive a error message that say: Delorme GPS Error - Can't open specified usb port. I have tried changing my setting on the Map program and on my gps device. Anyone have the right combination or settings to make this work. I can use the GPS on Mapsource and it works fine on my laptop. I just wanted to compare the two. To see which is best. Thank you very much. sOulbAit
  4. I was having the same problem since your upgrades. From the command prompt, I typed: tracert www.geocaching.com and it would come up with the old IP address. Example: C:\>tracert www.geocaching.com Tracing route to www.geocaching.com [63.251.163.181] As you can see the tracert came up with an old IP. First I want to thank Michael, Ed and everyone at Groundspeak for helping me work on this problem. They were fantastic. They took the time to show me what was wrong and what I had to do to fix the problem. I called my service provider and lead them thru this process and they understood they had a problem. I just finally got on today. I did another tracert and now this is what is says: C:\>tracert www.geocaching.com Tracing route to www.geocaching.com [66.150.167.149] Now you can see my service provider corrected there problem and it now has the correct IP for www.geocaching.com Thanks again for all the help on getting this problem straigned out. Happy Geocaching .......legna and sOulbAit
  5. Wow this is so cool how people think alike. I have not been on since (Welcome back; your last visit was on Jun 18 2004, 12:27 AM ) and just posted a Morse Code Cache like the ones being talked about here. "History of Morse Code" Use waypoint: GCK4CD. My dad use to be a ham operator "W4DRZ" and he was really good at it. I have to use the internet to do the translations. I had a friend tell me about this forum and I just had to check it out. Also working a new one with Braille for the cache cords. Will have to see if there are any more out there. Happy Geocaching. legna and sOulbAit
  6. Thanks Team DEMP: Not shure what is going on. I did everything in the above post. Now get this. I got a new gpx file this morning and tried it and it works fine. Tried yesterdays again and did not work. The gpx file from the day before yesterday worked fine. It seems like any file I downloaded on 6-17-04 did not work. This is very strange. I am glad it is working now as I am leaving from Florida to Savannah Ga. this afternoon and now I can load the latest caches. Thank you so much Team DEMP for all the help. I thought I was loosing my mind over this one. I guess it was just a bad day for geocaching on my end. Hehehehe Thanks again. Jim --- (legna and sOulbAit)
  7. Gave that a try and still does not work. I download a loc file from a search page and it does not work either. It says it sends but there is not a list of waypoints on the gps. I found and old loc file and tried it with gsak and easygps and the old file works fine from both programs and shows the waypoint list on the gps. Also tired an old gpx file and it works fine. Neither loc or gpx file from today will work. Hmmmmmm, Tried just one loc waypoint from today and it does not work either. All files from yesterday and before (loc and gpx) work fine and everyone one from today doesn't work. Strange. HELPPPPPPPP Thanks Jim
  8. I have been using GSAK to send pocket queries to Mapsource and then send that to my Garmin 60C. I have also used easy gps to send to the same unit. When I received my pocket queries for today, neither program would send to the Garmin. I tried a querie from yesterday and it worked find. Anyone one know why todays queries do not work or is anyone having the same problem I am having? The queries seem to work on my Magellian. Thanks legna and sOulbAit
  9. Here is an idea that may help or maybe it is already there and I don't now that it is. When using Geocaching.com maps I see there is a check box for premium members to show there caches with a check mark next to the caches shown. It would be nice to have another option to not show the caches that the person has already found as to see only the caches need to be found, it would clear up the clutter on the map and make it a lot easier to view. Also vise versa and to only show the ones found by the person. Any ideas on this. I see it as a great improvement for the Geocaching.com map. Thankyou very much.
  10. This map is also a good way to plan your trip. This map numbers them and then when you print them out you can number them on the order that you want to go find them. Downloading the waypoints from this page and printing the map and cache info would make it so much easier for your planed trip.
