  1. I searched for a cache in New Mexico, Santa Fe Trail NM-01, that was listed as needing maintenance back in February. It appears to still be in the same condition as it was back then - remnants of a plastic container with no lid, no log book, nothing to identify it as a Geocache site.

It's a great location and worthy of a cache, but I feel it either needs to be temporarily unavailable until it is brought up to standard by the owner, adopted or archived.

To whom does this get reported and how?

Log a Needs Maintenance note, in most cases.

This one sounds like it's been down a while so I would log a Should Be Archived note and ask the Reviewer to deal with it.

Thanks, Ed - I went ahead and logged an SBA.

  3. I have read all guidlines on geocaching.com for placing caches, but I still have a question: As the owner of a cache, I am responsible for its maintenance; if I have someone not interested in actively finding caches, but anxious to be responsible for maintaining the physical cache, is this acceptable? The only way I saw to have this question answered would be to submit it in the online form; however, I don't want to go through setting up and placing the cache if this is not even remotely possible. Any help from seasoned cachers/reviewers/etc?
