I am having problems with connecting my explorist 210 with my pc. I have done so in the past and never had a problem. when I hook the usb cable up, the unit goes into usb mode, but my pc does not see it . I thought it was my cable as it was pulling apart in the middle, but i cut it in half and respliced it together and its still doing the same thing.
...I looked for my original install cd for the magellan software in case I needed a new driver or something, but cannot find it. Tried to look for any drivers for XP to perhaps reinstall to see if that was the prob..but no luck on finding a driver...Any suggestions

a local middle school in the area did a class on geocaching. I created a number of geocaching pages but did not publish them. I then printed off the pages for the kids to use, this way I would be able to control the content of what they saw and could place some temporary caches anywhere I wanted. After they were done with my temp cache hides, I just took the pages down. Again, i created the pages, just never oficially published them

Well i got my Nuvi last night... Guess what its nuvi 270. The only diffrence is that i got more maps on it. Very easy to use. But same time its as basic as they come.. I think my 60cx can do more except talk. Does anyone knows how to remove found addresses??? Im still playing with it.. For the price its a great unit. If i had to pay for it I would pay alittle more and get one even better... Now im also going to try it for paperless geocaching..

I noticed on the mygpsoffer site the other day that they have upped it to the nuvi 270 now instead of the nuvi 200

The nuvi 200 came today...its charging as we speak....too me a few minutes to figure out how to charge it thru my usb port...seems to be working fine....tomorrow i cut up my discover card!!! I love free stuff!!
-
So I check my email today and was notified that the billing info was submitted for shipping via ups for the nuvi....I will advise when the nuvi arrives in the next few days!!!
-
I signed up last week, got my card today and activated it. while on the phone with discover, their customer service person confirmed its a valid office.....looks like i will be buying something for 1.00 tomorrow!!
customer service said when the first purchase is made, they notify the mygpsoffer people and that whole process of 6-8 weeks starts......I am looking forward to my nuvi!!!

A picture can only be uploaded to the gallery of a cache in two ways: uploaded in a log, or uploaded to the cache page by the owner, using the link in the upper right hand of the cache page, "Upload Images".
If it's been uploaded to the cache page, you'll be able to see the link on the cache page. Look down at the bottom left of the cache description, directly above where it says, "Logged Visits". There, you should see a little square icon and a link with the title of your picture. There is also a little link that says "edit".
Thanks!!!! That did it for me and I was able to remove it!!!
Have a great day Ambrosia!

No its not part of a cache page layout, it was just uploaded into the gallery.
-
Go to the log for the image you want. View it on a separate page. Then you should be able to edit the picture. At the top is a trashcan. Click on that to delete.
Its actually one of my cache hides that I did this to. I wasn't paying attention to what tab I was on and clicked to upload the photo to the gallery, and it went to my wrong hide, so there is not a log with associated with it.

How does one remove an image from a gallery? I uploaded an image for one of my caches....and did it to the wrong one! I trolled the geocaching site and could not find how to remove an image.

Does anyone know if geocaching.com would have plans to allow downloading to magellan units the way you can to a garmin? I trolled the forum and did not see anything that answers this.

AWESOME power point!! You hit all the topics I was thinking of and some extra ones besides! Thanks for making this powerpoint available to all, it will be used for a class of middle schoolers where I will be helping the teacher talk about gps and geocaching.
Again, AWESOME!

read some of the threads about upgrading to the more current firmware for the 210. I did mine the other day and it added some great new screens and seems more responsive and accurate.

And if it's a new laptop, you may be better off trying VantagePoint than the original software anyway. Check it out, it's a free download, also on the MagellanGPS site.
mjporter is right, vantagepoint would likely be a better fit for newer laptop, download is here: vantagepoint
I did install it sometime ago...I may have hit a snag as I recall in installing it and had to do some surfing on the forums to find a work around on the install. Works fine for me. I even found a free imi map of the us that i was able to install on it for the detailed streets.....wish i could figure out a way to edit that map so I could load it on my exploarist 210

What type of software are you looking for? If you are looking for mapsend lite, its a free download you can find here: Mapsend Lite download

I found an imi file of wisconsin, but its just slightly too big for my available memory on the 210. This link below will take you to the great site i found it on, geared toward snowmobiling. File size is 29.2 mb, and I only have 28mb of avail memory.
There are also a few other formats and states at this site.

any one know where to get a wisconsin detail map for an explorist 210? I don't need the whole country...just wisconsin so i can load it on my 210. In looking at different posts here and there, looks like they need to be an imi file format...any suggestions would be appreciated.

I just did the upgrade and it worked like a charm. I had saved the us basemap and then just switched em. I did save the eu basemap...never know when i might need it. Actually did 3 weeks ago as I loaned my 210 to a friend who took it to greece and london....bummer i didn't have the base map for them there. Now to figure out how to get a detail map of wisconsin in an explorist format
