  1. Yeppers, I saw and read this article in the Parade that was in The Pueblo Chieftain (Pueblo, Colorado) today. It was a good article. I say just be careful now that every gadget in the world will be "Geo-Cache Certified" and for sale. P.S.-Why do I keep seeing Jeremy's picture in all the unsold wallets as standard form pictures? Is this really him we see?
  2. Need Pics? http://hometown.aol.com/sameoldkeypersn/
  3. Anything that is sturdy and durable enough to survive all the elements will work. I just found another birdhouse off of its mount today while geocaching. I wonder where it will show up? HMMMMMMMM.
  4. 1. No I never said our event was any better than anybody elses. Because we are all the same, peel off our skin and we are all the same underneath it. 2. "Local Giving Budget" could vary anywhere from: none, some, much. All dependant upon size of company. And NONE are expected at all, only asked for out of the goodness of their heart. 3. How many requests do local stores recieve from "worthy" groups? I am sure anywhere from zero to many each month and dependant upon how it is presented to each store/individual I have seen decisions made either negative or positive. 4. The company I work for give donations to everybody that asks for them? No, I am lucky I get a paycheck every two weeks from them. Although they are known all over the world. Each individual and companies show their greed simply in how much they care for their employees after they hire them. Here in Colorado I gladly frequent Galyans before any Dave Cook, Gart Sports, or R-eally E-xpensive I-tems store. The price differences on the same items are an amazingly huge difference. Have a nice day.
  5. www.bisondesigns.com and www.sissy-n-cr.com were very polite in donating to our upcoming September 26 event so I would highly recommend folks patronize them and order much. Very neato stuffs from them. Thanks again peoples.
  6. Mine is a hole in the side of the mesa where my Y ME cache is placed. I crawled into it and took the picture looking out of it towards Monument, Colorado. Neat little spot that has an open top, open front, and one open side but still enclosed. Kinda like an room built into the mesa with three windows.
  7. yes gps city has good prices, and yes indeed it is a great way to clean house and desktops of clutter.
  8. www.bisondesigns.com www.bisonbelts.com Very neato stuff for caches (caribeners, micro containers, waterbottles) I mention them only because they were fantastically great enough to donate to our September Picnic with items to raffle, etc. So please purchase from them and spread the word about them. Thanks everybody.
  9. Do it, Do it, Do it. Hike all year long. I never did and used to flop through the winter. When JJasks told me it waas even more beautiful I went and tried it and Yeeha! Eureka! it is dynamite. You wont feel the blahs anymore-and man o man is it beautiful in the snow!
  10. I hate L.ow-light E.mitting D.iode headlamps. Somebody please direct me to an area where I can find a real headlamp to wear for night caching please.
  11. Hey now, after I am done picking everything of mine that I own I have to go somewhere to find something to pick on.
  12. Not until know have I ever thought about stuffing a fireman that's about 5'7" tall into a cache container and seeing how long it would take him to be found. (Please God let him be working the day of the Cache picnic, I hate running from people)
  13. Welcome back from the dead, lol. Now I know why I have a ccw as well. Actually thats not the reason but I am an Ex-Police Officer, Corrections Technician, Locksmith also. Mnay people here in Colorado Springs have commented on the fact that I should not kill the rattlesnakes I run across in my geocaching ventures, but you know what? I live because they don't. I also live because I killed that rattler that might of bitten your 10 year old son that may be hiking after me tomorrow, to a cache. Very few think of that. And I will continue to kill them suckers when I find them. I have found them smack dab in the middle of the trail in Garden of the Gods here also. It was actually pretty funny because I was watching a gentleman hiker come up the trai lbehind me when I saw that rattler and after the THIRD time I hollered to him to go around the trails side he asked me why; then I showedd him the rattler that was under my next step and waiting for him. Here sure appreciated me after that. At the time I did think about watching him get bit, this scenario I have never witnessed as a life lesson ( I wouldnt do it so get real people). Remember some of us have already seen or lived a certain scenario and are SIMPLY offering a better way for you to learn from it and not have to go through its hardship. As for other snakes I honestly came across about ten common variety snakes today while hiking on private property open to the public and watched them all slither away from me-they never attempted to harm me so I did let them go about their business. As for drunk drivers all I will say is that I used to work with a police officer whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver and I do know that he has no mercy for drunk drivers. Especially now that he is the sheriff of Las Animas County in Colorado. more power to you Jim, go get em all. As for the owner of this topic anytime you re in Colorado Springs and need a caching partner feel free to email me and we will go have fun.
  14. Who cares, go out and enjoy the fun and beauty that they are helping you participate in.
  15. Where's the Yeti? And no Coors cans allowed. Would be real cool to have our own coin though. Just make me a few Silver Lesher Dollars please while you are at the foundry. Play Dough? Might want to take a tour of the American Numismatic Museum website, or museum, if you are in Colorado Springs for ideas. Good Luck.
  16. Mainly at work. It's nice to get paid to read forums.
  17. Anybody know of anywhere I can find super small fake ammo containers? such as would be small as a cassette tape case. Thanks.
  18. Old caches? I do know where the outer walls and foundation of an 1800's stage stop is still standing--aint no way I am telling where it is or placing a cache there. As for straw thatch roofs you might look at the "Foxfire" series of books I believe from the elders living in the Appalachians. Some very interesting stuff there.
  19. Take a printout of the cache with you and be sure you ahve your gps with you also.
  20. My name evolved from the fact that I spent four years locksmithing and never had very little time to do anything but be on call and work. I know its not a bad thing but after four years of being on call and not having a life it was time for a change. I have worked n the corporate security field, loss prevention, police department and community corrections. So when anybody has a problem or wants to bitch, compalin, or whine who do they go to? The KEYPERSN. It was so nice to discover Geocaching and be able to go out and enjoy all that God has made for us and get away from all the above. Thank You Jeremy.
  21. Positive press is quite good for oneselves profit. Try getting a donation from them for an event is another story. I have personally taken the time to solicit donations from 200+ companies for our upcoming 2nd Annual Geocaching event in Colorado and to introduce product, and those that have donated will be greatly acknowledged and appreciated. I will come back and list the donors that I have in my files when I am not at work reading forums. Keep on caching!!
  22. Just a hint. If metal cans are wrapped completely in camouflaged duct tape they very seldom rust.
