Thanks for all the interest, I have sold this unit. Happy caching!

Hi Liberty,
Yes, I am in Rapid City, SD. How did you know?
I used the eTrex Legend on about 30 geo-caches. I downloaded directly to it
as a Premium Member, it worked great. It's a two step process, the
Geo-caching.com site downloads the caches to a file on your computer, then I
used Easy GPS (a free download program you can get at
http://www.easygps.com/) and it downloads to your GPS. Sure beats having to
enter manually and it holds up to 500 waypoints.
As for the wooded areas question...yes, I did a lot of caches up in the
Black Hills. It worked fine unless it was really dense coverage and even
then moving 10 feet one way or the other re-established the signal. I often
go caching with friends who have the Garmin 60CSX model and the eTrex Legend
did almost as well as the expensive one. The main difference we noticed is
that the Legend took longer to boot up and find the satellites the first
time, but after they were found for the first time it kept up with the
expensive model. As for holding the signal while driving it never failed. I
had also downloaded MapSource maps and used it while traveling. It did what
I needed it to do. It comes with basic maps installed.
It really is an excellent little unit. When I purchased it I had done a lot
of research and found a survey of all geo-cachers and it was the first
choice in the under $200 price range for any brand/model of GPS unit.
Other than not having the plastic turtle shell packaging you wouldn't know
it's not a brand new unit. I always took very good care of it. I'm sure you
would be happy with it. If you decide to purchase it you can pay via PayPal
by signing in and clicking on the "Send Money" tab. Enter my email address
and the amount. I would send the unit after receiving payment. I will be
traveling tomorrow and Thursday and may not be able to check my emails until
Friday. Hopefully there will be time, but I don't want you to think I'm
ignoring your responses.
If there's any other questions I can answer, please let me know. Thanks for
the inquiry.

I have Garmin eTrex Legend, in the blue case, for sale.
It is in excellent condition, no scratches or marks. I am selling this one because I received a 60Cx for Mother's Day. I have everything that came in the box (GPS unit, Quick Start Guide, Owner's Manual, Wrist Strap, PC Interface Cable and basic maps already installed). There are 17 additional maps you can purchase and download to this unit. You can check out all the details at Garmin eTrex Legend. This GPS is less than a year old. I've used it for some geo-caching and on the road a few times, it works great. I was totally happy with it.

Hi, I have a Garmin etrex Legend, the one in the bright blue housing, for sale.
You can check out all the spec's on this unit at Garmin eTrex Legend.
I've had this GPS since last August, it's been a fantastic unit. I've done some geo-caching with it and used it on the road a few times. Simple to use, easy to carry. It is in perfectly new condition, I can't even find a scratch on it. I have everything that came in the box: the GPS unit, Quick Start Guide, Owner's Manual, PC Interface Cable, and the Wrist Strap.
It came with all the basic maps installed but you can purchase and download 17 additional maps for this unit.
For Mother's Day I received a Garmin 60Cx which is I why I'm selling this one. I've been very pleased with the eTrex Legend and would still be using it if I hadn't been surprised with the 60Cx. The eTrex Legend is one of the most popular entry level GPS units used by geo-cachers.
I'll sell this unit with everything (including shipping) for $100.

Garmin 60Cx or the Garmin etrex Vista Cx

I also considered the same two units. The deciding factor for me was the antenna on the 60Cx, it definitely makes a difference, especially if you geocache under heavy tree cover. If you plan on using it around trees I would seriously recommend spending the extra and going with the 60Cx. I did and am glad I did.
