You probably have to drop the TB off once the cache is open. Not 100% sure, I'm fairly new myself Also, a lot of people suggest finding a bunch of caches and becoming more experienced in geocaching before placing a cache. But it's really up to each individual to follow that suggestion or not.

Same with me. I remember finding it and thinking "oh my god, these things move?". Not I tug, pull and lift everything when looking because I just don't know what moves and what doesn't anymore lol

I agree about using the map, I use it all the time to figure out where I want to go. Not sure if you use a smartphone to cache or not. But with my android I use the actual geocaching.com app and I can open up a map view, move to the area I want to check and search the area on the map on my phone as well.

I've found that to be true in a lot of caches. I think the issue is that not everyone trades even or up, so the good items get traded out for not so good. And eventually COs just don't bother putting in good items anymore to begin with. I don't really know how to fix that. I tend not to trade either, but I just like finding the cache

Pretty sure you gotta pay separately. Not everyone uses a smart phone to geocache.

You can go to your friend's profile and see what caches they have found. I'll use my profile as an example: http://www.geocaching.com/profile/ See at the top portion there is a geocaches tab? If you click it then it will show you the finds and hides. From what I gather the trade even or better rule isn't applied to trackables. The point is to help them on their journey, isn't it? What people are supposed to do is log finding/taking it though so that people don't make a fruitless trip of trying to get a trackable.

Is there a way to suggest archiving a cache if it's clearly unmaintained? There are a few around me that the COs have not been active for a year or more. In one case the only info on a CO's profile states that the cache in question is their only cache and they have no finds :/

I had a similar thinking pattern. I don't strive for perfection, just the best that I can. I figure making up for a frowny by finding it later is a better achievement because of the previous DNF log lol

So questions like this make me realize that I have sssoooo much that I can still learn :/ Anyway, the question is regarding logging. Today I went to find a cache and I could not find it. I was positive that I was looking in the right place but no cache so I logged a did not find. After messaging the CO, he went to check and sure enough it was muggled Currently I have my log edited to reflect that it was muggled. My question is should I change my log to a note, delete the log entirely, etc? Or just leave it as is? I'm going to get that cache after the CO enables it again, so I don't think it matters right?

What is the etiquette about replacing a log when the old log and the new log cannot fit in the container, such as with micros and/or nanos? Is it acceptable to replace the log, take the old one and contact the CO? What happens if the CO does not get in touch with you to get the old log?

So I've seen reviewers mentioned a few times and I understand what they do. But is there a way to know who a reviewer in a specific area is? How do people become reviewers? When placing a cache do you contact them directly? Just trying to clarify things before I even think of attempting to place a cache lol

God knows I don't remember any of it now though, the things you forget when you don't use 'em

I'm still a newbie, first cache was found on May 15, 2013. But even being new I try to learn as much as possible. I found a TB and didn't know what to do with it. So you know what I did? Left it in the cache where I found it and researched it. I don't know why anyone can claim being new as an excuse for making the kind of mistakes people complain about.
