  1. what? So...a Nelson is a four-thirds Ron??? I still have no idea what this line of talk was all about... Then what would a Full Nelson be? Sorry...I meant that to be a four-thirds Ron...does that help with the full Nelson???
  2. what? So...a Nelson is a four-thirds Lindsay??? I still have no idea what this line of talk was all about...
  3. I would assume they recieved special permission for publishing...considering it seems to be the local geocaching association account...
  4. Well the link is suppose to take you to a story about the Chile Earthquake moving whole town by 10 feet to the west but (apparently) doesn't seem to work for everybody - (does for me). It opened both stories for me...weird...
  5. Psst...come closer..."Posting a DNF does not count against anything...nor does it make you less of a geocacher" Either use a DNF...since, in reality, you really "Did Not Find" the cache...or, if you don't want that...the option is already there in the form of "Post Note"... My vote would be no...
  6. Seven days in a week...$20 per day...um...that is $140...not $99 365 Days...$7300...52 Weeks...$13,000...12 Months...$6,000...$26,300 Total...needing 265.6...so 266 members... My vote would still be no...sorry...
  7. Way to spoil the surprise and tell yourself that you have a gift coming!!! Sheesh...
  8. That would make it a 1/5 or 2/5. As Briansnat pointed out... Difficult to Find and Difficult to get to the Area are two different things...just becuase one is a 5, does not mean the other is automatically...
  9. My Guess is no...as you have no way to maintain the cache yourself on a timely basis... However, if you can contact a local cacher and ask that they assist you with upkeep of the cache...you may be able to get is published... The best person to actually ask would be the local reviewer up in that area...
  10. {Groan}...that was just too ruff...
  11. For #1 and #2...those would come from Groundspeak...the reviewer wasn't going about looking for random logs...orders were given by Groundspeak...if you have issues with anyone here it would be them and not Nomex... For #3...that would depend on the log/description involved (ie...how offensive it is)...and Groundspeak's directive... Besides...when one questions a reviewer's actions in a public forum...one better expect to see the reviewer show up eventually...seriously, expecting someone to stay out of a forum thread that is centered around them (at least in part)...
  12. I am simply amazed that the cacher (of the log in question) is offened that someone was offended by his/her log... Sure, Nomex does admit to not sending an email as promtly as possible, but I think it has been explained to the point that is needed in the forums...the party(ies) involved can take care of the rest in private... Simple line of events... Cacher found cache...had an experince with someone at the cache...words were exchanged...words were stated in log (regardless of correct or incorrect quote)...someone read the log...said reader was offended...contacted Groundspeak...Groundspeak contacted reviewer...told reviewer to delete log...reviewer did so...posted note on page...note was deleted by cache owner...thread was opened (by what seems to be a friend of the cacher whose log was deleted)...discussion took place...are we all caught up now??? Just relog the cache and be done with it...
  13. The Paypal thing works on this end...at least the pull-down option...I would say it is something weird going on at your end...sorry...
  14. Wait a second here. Why am I paying for pocket queries then? Easy...you made the choice to become a paying member...the free option is still there...your idea takes the free option out of the picture... Do I think some of my caches are worth a buck...yes... Do I think the idea is worth a buck...no...
  15. I understood it as was meant...if someone wants to discuss the matter...than at least take it to the forums and leave the cache page for actual logs...
  16. As others have stated... Making something hard just to make it hard is not likely to be well received...please rethink you line of thinking...
  17. Psst...periods and basic punctuation are free on this forum... Sort of a hard to read post... Before you get too involved in something enventually...you may want to consider running your idea past your local reviewer...may have some concerns/insights about the cache... All though I understand the above is just listing of ideas...the guidelines have the following statement in them that may/may not run against some of your ideas above...your local reviewer would be best able to clear that up for you... GPS usage is an essential element of geocaching. Therefore, although it is possible to find a cache without a GPS, the option of using accurate GPS coordinates as an integral part of the cache hunt must be demonstrated for all physical cache submissions.
  18. Ok...first...I would recommend a change in mindset... Hard/Hardest-->No Fun Challenging, but Doable-->Fun
  19. Relevant to what...the OP is asking about a log being deleted...the fact that Nomex asked the the cache page not turn into a forum is just a friendly reminder to leave the logs to logs...and not to a dicussion about the deletion of a log... The forums are for "dicussions"...as is taking place here...
  20. For the sake of all things frog...just relog the find and be done with it...
  21. Also answered by Keystone... Otherwise...another way tp write GermanSailor's answer...use your mouse to "hover" the pointer over your name in the forums...at the bottom of the screen it will show your number...
  22. Regarding one...afterall...it does say "First" to Find...really, one cannot claim to be first is someone else was there before...seems only natural... Regarding two...I would disagree...maybe if the location is changed and hide style is relatively different...but just a simple replacement of a container...no...no need to relist the cache...I have had pleanty of hides that change container and size...but I don't relist them becuase of that... Regarding three...just never take it personally...
  23. Some friends of mine once told me about a "fake rock" hide of their that went wrong... Used a real rock and drilled a hole in it big enough for a Bison Tube...hide the cache and waited for finders...all was going about average for a real rock among rocks in a wooded area...had a friend of theirs in town for a day and took him out caching...they watched and heckled at he searched. As he came to the rock, they waited in anticipation of his reaction...only, instead of a find (by lifting the rock and turning it over) he threw the rock into the river...bye-bye cache!!! They all had a laugh and the cache was replaced the next day...
