I am in the area for a little while and I am looking for suggestions for people's favorite or must do caches for the Philadelphia area. All suggestions are greatly appreciated!

[Tips on discrete searching?]

Fake cell phone calls work great. People pay no attention to you. You can idly be picking things up or poking through things and it is just that you are restless on the phone. Until of course it rings while you are talking to yourself

[whats your "standard" gear?]

I use a Nalgene backpack that has a water bladder in it. Convenient to have the water at hand all the time. It isn't too big and holds everything i need...gps, pda, journal, flashlight, etc.

[How many Caches within 50 miles?]

I have 3850 within 50 miles. That is with water to the west.

I don't have a suggestion, but I would be up for the hike assuming I can get free whenever it is.

While searching for my 3rd cache ever I was approached by a veteran cacher. We looked for 2 caches together and then parted ways. Watching him cache helped me a great deal in showing me what to look for.

I am new to the Seattle area. I am out here for the summer and I am looking for ideas for a place to go for a weekend of some good camping andcaching. I really enjoy hiking/backpacking and I am in continuous awe of having mountains all around since coming here from Ohio.

 

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reminder. My premium membership dues are up this week. I'd hate to lose out on the first-dibs...

 

A real premium member would have let the noob have the bug, after he/she explained how the travel bug/geocoin logging process worked, and made the noob sign a release stating that on their honor, he/she would release the TB within two weeks...

 

This recently happened to me playing the role of the non-premium member. I have been caching for 3 weeks tops. This premium member not only explained the process but took a TB out of his backpack and gave it to me to move along. Glad I had a good experience with this. Premium member furthering the game.

 

But just in case I am wrong about all this, I need to get my check written and start posting like crazy to people's topics to cement my caching status.

Someone else who is new! Although I assume there are many of us. I too am awaiting my GPSr to be delivered. Although mine is supposed to be here in time to let me start frustrating myself with caches this weekend. Good luck!
