  1. Good for those folks at Groundspeak, not so good for those of us that like activities that not everyone knows about or does. I'm not sure I see the logic in this type of thinking although I respect others opinions. I.M.H.O. the more people that join the sport the better it will get. Back in the day like 2002 we had to travel 25 miles to get to an area that had caches. As a matter of fact our first cache GCEAA1 that we put out in 2003 was the very first cache in the entire area. My point is that the more folks that are into Geocaching will probably put out at least one cache in their home area thus expanding the number of caches in possibly an area where there are none. It would be my hope that family's will try the sport and their children will be introduced into the outdoors and see things off the beaten path that we all know you would never see without going caching to some very unique areas. With the proliferation of caches this will open up more opportunities for folks to find caches and not have to travel longer distances. I think that the more cachers there are they will be good caches that will CITO and this is all good for the environment. Of course there will be some bad eggs that will come into the sport, but those types will fizzle out with the lack of effort or will not want to hike a distance to find a cache. Also with new folks maybe some will purchase premium memberships and this is good income for Groundspeak they are trying to run a business which provides some excellent services to us all. This is a very interesting topic and one that will be discussed at length I'm sure. Jeff of barefoot One & Wench
  2. Some people only know rude, but it won't get them very far in life . For sure it won't give them a good reputation in our community.

  4. I tried to edit the price in the original thread posting, but the edit button disappeared as it did in the second thread. I would have deleted the other posts, but that option is not available. Sorry for the duplicate threads.

  10. I have City Navigator North America in my 60CSx and yes it also works the way you have described. I guess it's up to the individual which way they choose to locate the Cache, I have found Caches using both methods. Although I do tend to use the compass page more often to locate the Cache. 11. 1. Where do I find the menu to choose "off-road"? Cherokee Bill, Very simple, here ya go. 1. Press the find button. 2. Select the cache you want to go to and press enter. 3. The Cache page you selected comes up, scroll over to the "go to" window and press enter. 4. Now you have the follow road or off road window. Now just scroll to your choice say off road and press the button now you have your course of travel highlighted leading you to the Cache. 5. If you want to stop navigation press menu and you will have the choice at the top of the list to stop navigation by just pressing the enter button. I hope this helps, just play around with the 60CSx you can't hurt it . Barefoot One & Wench

Take a look. http://www.city-data.com/city/East-Brady-Pennsylvania.html Happy trails to you, Jeff of barefoot One & Wench

  15. I maybe wrong, but once you make up your desired map set and store it to memory in your computer you can put it in another GPSr. I had the same impression about the unlock deal for an additional GPSr, but this is what the Garmin Tech Guru told me. When I spoke to Garmin about the 1 unlock crap and they told me this is what Navteq who makes the maps has enforced on them. I may stand corrected on this . Barefoot One & Wench
  16. Hi Cherokee Bill, When I bought my 60CSx, 2 GB SD card and City Navigator North America maps I loaded the maps from the CD into my puter. Then loaded my map set I made up into the 60CSx and onto the SD card. I love my 60 CSx , I hope you do to. Good luck to you & happy caching, Barefoot One & Wench
  17. Take a look at this dry bag, I think this would do it for you. http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___34402
  18. Hey The Tool, I know what you mean, since I also own a GPS V. Now for the heads up . I recently bought a 60CSx and I just love it . How many ways could I tell you why, well the first biggie to me is the sensitivity of 60CSx it makes the GPS V look like a Neanderthal maybe like going from a model T to a GTO. Transition when moving the pointer on the screen to adjacent maps is very fast and smooth. The 60 CSx works very well in my car for traveling. I really like the color screen I could go on and on, but I won't. Believe me treat yourself to a new GPS like the 60CSx if you can, you gonna like it. Good luck, Jeff of Barefoot One & Wench

  21. I just had a similar problem with my GPS V. After the unit was on for 5-10 minutes my screen went blank with a narrow line going across the whole width of the screen and the screen was still back lit. I called Garmin and they said that they had had reports of some GPS units displaying the same screen symptoms. Garmin told me that since two new birds had been very recently put into orbit that these problems started to appear. Garmin advised me to turn the WAAS off and see if it helped, I turned the WAAS off and the problem was solved. So maybe you are experiencing the same problem with your 60CS. I also have a 60CSx, but Garmin told me it wasn't affected by the WAAS signal. I hope this solves your problem and good luck.
