Did anyone else notice that Garmin is giving away t-shirts on their blog for testimonials:

We need to get some geocaching stories out there!

There are tons of examples on Garmin's blog -- www.garmin.blogs.com

This newby needs some help. I think I agree with Joe. "If I can HOLD the cache but cannot open it for some reason I think that is a find." But, I'm really, really new to geocaching and have never found a cache that was locked. Are there lots like that out there?

I've never been bitten, but it's been close. FYI, Garmin has a t-shirt contest on their blog, http://garmin.blogs.com/my_weblog/2006/06/...e_winners_.html.
If your testimonial is really cool, you should send it to them so you can get a shirt to go along with that bite.

There's an interesting article/testimonial on Garmin's blog about Ham radio operators -- http://garmin.blogs.com/my_weblog/2006/06/...e_winners_.html. I'm guessing it was someone on this forum that won the t-shirt. Was it a good one?

I agree. Should've gotten a 60csx or 60cx because of the new GPS receiver.

I noticed that Garmin has info on geocaching and education too. Here's one of the items from their blog site site

I have done a number of GPS training/activity sessions for adults in the organization I work for, however I've normally had a few hours available to me. This time is different.
Basically, I've agreed to do a session with 20-25 inexperienced adults in a 1.5 hour time slot. I will be providing them with Garmin 72 and 76 units. I figure that I will spend 45 minutes or so teaching the basics (brief on how GPS works, moving between screens and menus, how to change datum and location format, marking-entering-navigating to waypoints, and creating track logs). I would have 1-3 assistant trainers who could help me break into smaller groups so I am not inundated with questions.
This part isn't really the problem. The problem is figuring out what kind of activity can I set up without a lot of prep time (I'll have some, but not a lot, of time at the mostly forested and secluded site prior to the session) that would give students a chance to use at least some of their new skills, would take 30-40 minutes beginning to end, and if possible, be fun? Any ideas would be welcome.
Milestone Congratulations
