  1. Wow, nice wallpaper! Good job.
  2. AlsidPrime, I found the link to the page. As I said, it's a Members Only cache so I'm not sure if you can view it. The link is: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...73-c66ec6233917 GC Code: GCG4VT Not sure if it would be okay for me to post the coords here for you to get an idea of the area it's in as it's MO. I think contact Canadazuuk for the details. RobertM
  3. Hi AlsidPrime, I may be mistaken but I think Canadazuuk had a cache up at a hot spring somewhere around that area. Not sure if you are able to see it as it may be a Members Only cache. RobertM
  4. Hi CO_Admin, Thanks. :-) It's downloaded. Now just to find the time to install it. If I have any questions I'll check out the IRC chat/channel. I don't think I've been there yet. Maybe once, but long ago. Thank you RobertM
  5. I suppose this gives a whole new meaning to the term Logging A Cache. ;-)
  6. I never knew about Clayjar's Watcher program. I'm downloading it now. The screenshots look pretty good!
  7. I'd be keen into going to Blood Beach / Spy Glass with you and perhaps a group of others. I have not done any of them and hear it's a good hike in.
  8. A question to the forum moderators and Groundspeak administrators. Does the Warn% ever go down or does it remain at the level and always ever only go up? Thank you RobertM
  9. Hi tlg, No offence meant by my post. :-) I was just mentioning someone's opinion compared to mine and that AlsidPrime might enjoy the hike. RobertM
  10. You know what feature would be REALLY cool? Bluetooth or an Infrared port for beaming waypoints to an GPS or between GPSes. Now that'd be cool! Mark coords on my palm, or "write" them in and BT or IR them to the GPS. No more click-click-click. :-)
  11. Forgot to mention. If you are looking for an interesting, not too difficult, hike to a really great scenic spot then you should try Jomarac5 and my cache at Lindeman Lake. Jomarac5's is called Looking Down Lindeman and mine is called Looking Across Lindeman. Not sure if you've ever been to Lindeman Lake. It's an awesome spot. The hike in is not too difficult, but you'll work up a sweat I'm sure as it's uphill all the way in. Coming out is a breeze as it's downhill all the way.
  12. Alsid Prime, We'll be looking forward to doing your new adventure cache. If it wasn't for work I'd have gone for your new one already. :-) If you are looking for some really interesting, challenging, exciting and excellent caches that have a similar feel, look for caches placed by AlleyKatz. The cache is called A Deactived Adventure. It's an EXCELLENT hike in and out with amazing views. It's close to Hope (or just South West of it) if I recall correctly. Definitely worth the trip! Another good one by AlleyKatz that ends up on a beatiful lake is called Old Tales Of A Lumberjack. Someone recently complained about the walk in that's on an old logging road. I found it interesting, especially the signs in along the way. Can't remember what it was about, but something to do with rejuvinating the forest or something like that. It's a cool spot! If you go now, make sure you head out early enough as you don't want to get caught coming out of there in the dark. RobertM
  13. One of the first caches (probably within the first 10) I did was in a cemetary. Great spot! One of my caches (a puzzle type) is hidden on the border of a cemetary. Nothing wrong with it, but that's my opinion (as long as the cachers show some respect and don't disturb things). Makes for great night caching too. ;-)

    WAAS in Canada

You would need a separate beacon receiver linked to your GPSr to take advantage of the differential corrections transmitted by the coast guard in Canada. I pick it up on my GPS V and the accuracy increases. I don't need any special things to make it work. The GPS says it's receiving a 3D differential signal.

    WAAS in Canada

I may be wrong, but I think a lot of people confuse WAAS with the Differential signal. In Richmond near the Vancouver airport they transmit a "fixed/adjusted" signal. If you pick up this signal your accuracy will improve. A lot of people think they are getting a WAAS signal near the airport when infact it's an adjusted differential signal. (You can do a search on the internet government of Canada websites to determine where these signals are transmitted from.) To check if you are receiving WAAS check which satellites you are picking up. I can't remember the exact numbers off-hand, but I'm sure someone knows them. Only if you are picking up one of the WAAS satellites will you be getting a WAAS signal. With a Differential signal you can get very good accuracy. In Victoria I got 2m accuracy on the south point (not sure what the area is called), that was with a Garmin Legend (patch antenna). Out caching in Port Coquitlam once with my GPS V I picked up a differential signal from Richmond and was getting 4m accuracy (with a quad helix antenna). My 2c. ;-)
  16. I believe one is allowed to use the logo on things you create if you make less of a certain amount and it is not for commercial use. There's a section on the website that defines exactly how the logo may and may not be used. I haven't read the full page, but this may help you: Logo Usage
  17. Am I not entitled to my opinion just as you are yours? I have reported your post as it is not in accordance with the guidelines.
  18. Well for the record then, I do want an off-topic area.
  19. Since I'm new at this, is it normal for the folks who find it not to put it back the waythey found it? I have placed my first one and went to check it today and found it way out in the open, not hidden at all like the way I left it. So I had to put it back the way I originally hid it. That unfortunately happens all the time. :-( Some people have their kids find and replace the cache. Others have their own idea where they think it should be hidden. We had a cache that was moved by a local cacher to the other side of a railway track several meters away from its original location. Why? Heaven only knows. :-(
  20. To quote the forum guidelines at the top left corner of the page, this "is an open forum sponsored by Groundspeak Inc. for discussing all aspects of Geocaching, Benchmark hunting, GPS Usage and Groundspeak related GPS Gaming." So, the General Forum is for posting topics about Geocaching, Benchmark hunting, GPS Usage and Groundspeak related GPS Gaming that do not fit the themes of the other specific forums. May I highlight it a bit more? Hope you don't mind. ;-) "is an open forum sponsored by Groundspeak Inc. for discussing all aspects of Geocaching, Benchmark hunting, GPS Usage and Groundspeak related GPS Gaming."
  21. To quote the subtitle under heading "General": If you have a topic that doesn't quite fit anywhere else, post it here.
  22. Bingo. But if I say what it is I'll get myself banned. :-(
  23. Some are probably even lurking here as we speak, uh, I mean type.
