  1. You do know our local caching club here in Maryland (MGS) has it's own organization tag... I got mine a few weeks ago, They look pretty nice.
  2. I agree 100% with the folks who found the posted photo completely tasteless so I have removed it. This type of garbage has no place here and will not be tolerated.
  3. This is now on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...MESSE%3AIT&rd=1
  4. Magellan Meridian Plat for sale. The unit is in excellent shape and I'll include all of the following: Data Cable and Original CD Streets & Destinations Software 256 Meg SD card. I'll let it all go for $250.00 (firm) Works great I just don't need it since I'm not caching much these days and when I do go out I use my Legend. Email me if interested.
  5. I'll try and restore the mirror site tomorow. As for cachegear.com there just hasn't been enough interest to keep the site going. With the lack of trafic and my intrests drifting else where I've decided to make different use of the webspace.
  6. Actually I think that cache is on Smith Island. I did a double take when I originally approved it until I remembered smith island. An email to the cache owner at that time confirmed thats where it was. http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=smith+isl...-t&cop=mss&tab=
  7. I'll be there and plan to post regular reports to cachegear.com while I'm out there. http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"

  9. This sounds like a very likely scenario to me. Garmin certainly wouldn't want to hurt their xmas sales of the existing models at this point. I too am hoping they're shown at CES. If they are I'll do what I can to bring back some pics! --------------------------------------------- Garmin starts offering rebates on all eTrex models at the end of October or mid-November. They sell out remaining stock of eTrex units during the Christmas season allowing their dealers to reduce stock. They then introduce the GPS 60 line at CES in January. At least this is what I'm hoping for ------------------- John - ardfarkle@d30.info [This message was edited by ardfarkle on October 17, 2003 at 03:26 AM.] http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  10. You may have beter luck getting a hand with your problem over in the GPS Units and Software forum. quote:Originally posted by Doc-Dean:I am trying to use Plucker to setup a PDA version of the great locationless page set up by BeachBuddies http://members.aol.com/GeocacherBB/locationless.html. I have configured Plucker to download that webpage and set my depth to 2 links. It took 2-3 hours for Plucker to download all the information and in the end it did not save it anywhere (I could find). The configuration is identical to the one I use for gpx files converted to html via GPXSpinner and I triple checked all the settings. The output file is supposed to go to my memory stick on my sony pda. This is the first time I have tried to use Plucker for anything but GPX converted files. What am I missing?? Has anyone else been able to download straight html files directly off the internet? 11. Great cause! I'll be sending my donation in soon! In the meantime I have posted info on both the Maryland Geocaching Society Homepage and www.cachegear.com. http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  12. Anyone else notice that the package deals with the software bundled in are listed as in stock? http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  13. Same problem on my end. http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  14. I have to admit I've been wondering if these aren't just photoshop edits. I even scoured the FCC website to see if I could find anything regarding the new units but didn't come up with anything. Might be worth a call to Garmin to get verification one way or another. http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  15. This weekend I really used GPXSonar a great deal and really put it through it's paces. I still think it's the best cache ino app out right now! I do have one small sugestion This past weekend I really used the field notes feature alot. i was away from home and my pc so I relied on this to keep my notes. Problem is when I got home to start logging it was kinda cumebrsome to read the notes on the ppc and log all the finds. Would it be possible to add a feature that dumped all the notes to some type of text file? That would make cutting and pasting log entries possible and really cut down on my time spent logging my caches. http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  16. Done. I just unarchived it for you but left it disabled. In the future you might want to drop an email to your local approver who can handle these types of requests for you. http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  17. I have heard there is a version of expert gps in the works for the pocket pc. But currently to the best of my knowledge there isn't a waypoint management program for the ppc that will read and transfer gpx files. The closet thing I've found thus far is g7toce. The problem is this app won't handle gpx files. What I've taken to doing is uploading the gpx file to my gps and then downloading it to the ppc with g7toce. It's a pain but it's functional. I have some info on g7toce at http://www.cachegear.com/modules.php?name=PocketCaching http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  18. I'll be at CES this year so I hope you're right! quote:Originally posted by pecka:Hello, My friend just told me that there will be a new gpsr from Garmin called GPS60 soon. He told me that the dealers alredy received some pomotion materials and it says that it comes with world base-map (no more atlantic and euro versions) and 50MB for maps, there will also be a colorscreen verison. It should be on the market just before XMas. So it only can mean that the official announcement will be at CES. My question is if there is someone who has more information about the unit? Anyone w/ pictures? http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  19. Sounds like a cool idea. Do you have any pics? http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  20. Haven't tried this yet. Were you using the latest version of Mapopolis? You should email your results to the Mapopolis folks to see what they have to say http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  21. Email me if you're having a problem. In theory it should be working but my Pocket PC is in the shop for repairs so I can't do much testing At least I've had plenty of time to work on the site. http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  22. I use thunderhawke on my pocket pc and love it. Having better handheld access to gc.com was a major reason I bought it. http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"

  24. Thanks for the positive feedback and support! Yes Mr. Kablooey has become a partner in crime of sorts for this project. My eventual goal is to get a team of geocachers with varied fields of expertise contrubuting reviews and info. http://www.cachegear.com Technical News And Reviews Relating To Geocaching "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
  25. A better solution might be to just get a serial to usb converter. I use one from radio shack with my pda. I'm currently not aware of any handheld units that have a usb / firewire interface. "Law pain i reviar mistar aen"
