Here's a huge one.

Wow. CCCA has been the worldwide leader since I've been caching (2002). It's weird to see somebody else on top. Congrats to both.

Deadhead - funny log and that's one of the 4 NY caches I found. Now I know where it all went down.

Post this over at http://www.floridacaching.com/ in the Brevard county section and you'll get more response. -

Magellan Customer Support These Days
CacheMonkeez replied to embra's topic in GPS technology and devices
I've contacted Magellan twice about my SporTrak Pro. Both times it was not working due to my own negligence. Both times Magellan replaced it with a brand new unit. Both times it was beyond the warantee period. Both time they also threw in some freebies. Obviously I'm happy with their customer service. -
Turns out it was just another cacher being goofy.

Arkon Gps/pda Vehicle Mount And Mapopolis
CacheMonkeez replied to CacheMonkeez's topic in GPS technology and devices
No help at GPSpassion so I called Arkon and they sent me a new cable. Worked fine after that...problem solved. I also had to set the baud rate at 19.2 for COM1. -
This image is the largest I've ever seen on gc.com: 1563 x 1587 pixels.

Arkon Gps/pda Vehicle Mount And Mapopolis
CacheMonkeez replied to CacheMonkeez's topic in GPS technology and devices
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried them...didn't work. So I'll check out gpspassion.com. Thanks -
Does anybody have this setup: Arkon GPS-equipped PDA vehicle mount using Mapopolis on PocketPC PDA? The Mapopolis GPS software says it is searching the COM ports, but can't find anything. The PDA also gets bogged down and runs so slowly that it's hard to tell if it's locked up or just running slowly. Anybody have experience with this?

Not really.
-
www.floridacaching.com has a webpage dedicated to rest stop caches
-
Yea, I think if it's < 125 K, it doesn't matter if it's over 600 pixels wide - the image will not be resized by gc.com.
-
This one is 1024x768, way beyond 600 wide.

Anyone Done A Science Fair Exhibit
CacheMonkeez replied to cad-guy's topic in General geocaching topics
My son did one on the accuracy of a GPS for his 4th grade science project. I mounted the GPS in the car overnight and uploaded the track the next morrning. My GPS moved over 100' overnight while inside my parked car! -
I spend a lot of time resizing photos before they're uploaded. I'm just wondering if that is a waste of time or not.
-
Curious...me too. That's why I axed the question. So it's either a bug or not working as designed?
-
These pictures match what the site is supposed to be doing perfectly. Here's how it works (and how it should continue to work): If your picture size < 125K, it is left unchanged. If your picture size > 125K and the width < 600, the image is recompressed without changing the dimensions. If your picture size > 125K and the width > 600, the image is recompressed with a width of 600. Please don't change this algorithm. Pictures look lousy at 600 pixels wide, so I always take care to transcode my images to be under the size limit. hmmm, then how come it didn't recompress the photo above?

OK. Here's an image that is 245K and 1240x958. Why wasn't it resized? From University Park
