You do ... something to me ....
I got my eye on you, pal! I do like the detail on the jeans. Hey, are those spuds or cow patties?
Concho-girl, where y' been? O yeah, Oregon and parts
in between haven't y'? Missed y' babe.
Those conchos I tacked to your riding breeches are
from an Internet western-wear.
As to th' flyin' horse-apples, they were contributed
by ol' Happy, my Sandy Creek Cowboy mount that not
so long ago became infirm and had t' be put down.
My years at Sandy Creek Ranch were deeply enriched
by Happy and by Ricky D. Goose, both gone to where
th' good critters go.
I'm sure that you will treasure the honor of being the
only cowgirl, or perhaps mulegirl ever honored with
flyin' Happy horse-apples. Maybe I can find a shot of
Ricky D. Goose to spruce up another BlondHiLites photo.
Say, remember th' day we hid those doggone dawg-caches?
I'm still lame from a bruised heel that was aggravated
by the paved and cobbled streets and closes of Scotland
and the two Irelands. Ouch!
Kiss-kiss,
Sweet ol' Harmon
So,I'm surrounded by Quacks I see.
Denise,
You're thinking of ducks girl. That shot was supposed
to get a "Honk" remark from James. Ricky D. Goose was
my pal at Sandy Creek Ranch. And you a country gal.
By the way, are you o.k., sick in bed, depressed, or
what? Whenever I see a Geocaching Forum post I worry
about the health of th' posting party.
Kiss-kiss,
Sweet ol' Harmon
Note to Self: Well, o.k., I suppose I have been pickin' on her just a tad.

That thing will probably DNF! BTW is that Martian Leopard Skin cammo?
Doug 7rxc
Actually Martian Cheatah Cammo'. Martian Cheatahs are know
for their agility what with being able to leap forward by fifty
yards in a single bound.
Once Mars has been terraformed and civilized it's the right
place to put all of our elder-care facilities so's th' ol' timers
can get up after they fall.
By the way, the URL for that rover image was taken from a
related Geocache.

Doug,
How does one run in circles when there are so many
trees in your neck of the woods?
Being dead is not a problem but not living on is
a tragedy.
Poor ol' Harmon
Hi Harmon. Well to tell the truth we cheat a little. Stand them up on end and support them on axles. Google, Images, for 'Human Hamster Wheels' you'll get the picture(s).
I might just post a 'restoration' or two for fun. Both I did for cache sites, one was accepted and one a dry no thanks and deleted the images. I think he was more interested his 'sign' Waymark than what it represented. The cache is going strong these days, Texans like their (and our) heritage.
Got to find time to finish a few things up as well, but I want to get some caching done!
Doug 7rxc
Doug,
"Human hampster wheels," gotta love it. Fits in with my belief
that anything one might imagine will already have a following
somewhere in the world.
Your experience with offering an image and having it rejected
hits home with me. I went through an early stage of image and
video editing wherein I expected that others might appreciate
my efforts. Didn't take long to realize that people in general
have a very short attention span for, dare I say, for anything.
So it goes,
Poor ol' Harmon

Gosh, how do y' think I feel?
When I check Google+ accounts of local Geocachers what do you suppose I see
in most cases?
A message saying that the Geocacher "Hasn't shared anything with you."
Fine, y'all go ahead and share thangs with one onother, don't worry about me.
I'll be o.k., I'll just read another old book and die as soon as I'm called.
Poor ol' Harmon
Note to Self: It ain't like it costs anythang t' share with an ol' man.
Note two Self: 'Fraid I'll mess with their photos I'll wager.
Note three Self: When have I ever messed with their photos anyway?
-
Hey look ...
They did apply our San Diego Geocachers decal to Curiosity
Rover as promised.
Seems to me that the search for life on Mars is a bit misguided. Why not just
haul a bucket of water up there to set out ... no time at all you would have a
bucket full of Martian mosquitos to study.
Better yet, send a couple of tick-magnet gals up there to find life as we know
it. Sure as heck worked in the wilderness of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, not
naming any names of course.
Note to Self: Gotta learn them JPL photographers to frame their shots with a level horizon.

Thanks for that! Of course 'retouching' is one thing, 'restoring' is another, and having fun 'altering' images is another isn't it?
I've never done any commercially, but have fun and practice doing 'worthy' pictures for friends and family to save 'history' as it were. Playing with images allows one to build the skill needed to do so and to do something worthwhile at the same time.
You are right when you say "retouching is a good thang!".
Doug 7rxc, still running in circles up here.
Doug,
How does one run in circles when there are so many
trees in your neck of the woods?
Quite right about retouching and restoring, both
activities are amongst my great pleasures. At my age
it feels grand to know that some old things can be put
into new-like condition. Maybe instead of Photoshop
some brilliant medical genius should contrive a
Peopleshop machine. If that happens I'll be first in
line for treatment.
One in four people in the U.S., over age, 60 now have
a surgical replacement.
Altering images is also one of my passions as might be
obvious from posted images on this Forum thread. In
the extreme it is a challenge to fabricate image content
as can be seen in the image above wherein James seems
to have a bagpiper serenade. In that image the right
half is constructed from tiny tidbits taken from the
left half of the image in the fashion explained in the
"tsunami retouching" video though, in this case, not
done with professional care. I suppose this approach is
just a digital version of what painters of the realism ilk
achieve with canvas, brushes, and oils.
Being dead is not a problem but not living on is
a tragedy.
Poor ol' Harmon
Note to Self: Hmm, one day I must apologize to my Facebook friends for using complete sentences and paragraphs.
Note two Self: Maybe not.

Say, I see that several of my Geocaching pals are quietly
showing up on Google+; though not yet sharing anything.
Delighted to see this trend.
It's really important to appreciate the difference betwen
Facebook and Google+.
Facebook is merely alternate form of email used to keep in
touch with family members and close friends. Don't expect
this sort of thing with Google+.
Google+ is a place to follow your passionate interests
with like-minded people that will be, for the most part,
strangers to you. No matter what your interest is just
use the Google+ search-box to discover others of like
interest and then "follow" them. Good example for James
would be a Google+ search for "Tall Ships."
In my own case I follow a large circle of professional
photographers, a circle of Photoshop professionals, a
circle of 3D imaging experts, a circle of encryption
innovators, and more. Result is a steady flow of content
that encompasses my passionate interests.
Once you have found people that can encourage and enhance
your interests do add them to a Google+ Circle so that you
can be aware of their posts. Show a presence amongst those
you follow by offering informative and useful comments about
their posts. Interesting and useful comments made regularly
is the best way to become a recognized member of any given
discussion Circle.
Coming from Facebook or Twitter you might be surprised by
the contrasting fact that Google+ regulars write complete
sentences and paragraphs, often pages full of them.
For my own family and close friends email serves my needs
and avoids that silly Like button thingy.
Simple ... Facebook for people, Google+ for content.
Sweet ol' Harmon
James looks good steering!!
How embarrassing! ... they stenciled "Californian"
upside-down and off-center on the steering thingy.

Boy howdy, I can explain this one ... in the last few weeks:
A. My sweet bride got a new iPad.
B. My sweet bride got a new Galaxy S-111 cell phone.
C. I got a new Nexus 7 Tablet.
D. My sweet bride and I converted our home-phone to Verizon Wireless.
E. My sweet bride returned from a family reunion in Iowa with an hour
of video footage.
F. I have been solidifying my Google+ account by joining a number of
rewarding Circles that pertain to my main interests.
I've been buried up to my lower-lip in tech-support. Big part of it was
to support my sweet bride while she produced a video-DVD with the
iPad footage she shot of relatives in Dickey-Bibs running an ol' timey
sawmill that's located out in the open at the edge of an Iowa cornfield.
I see that six or seven local Geocachers have taken the plunge with a
Google+ account but haven't made much use of their account as yet.
To mention it again Google+ is a service that allows you to interact on
a worldwide basis with people that share interests. Google+ is not in
any way a Facebook experience and so calls for a different set of skills
in order to enjoy the benefits.
So far I see very little participation from Geocachers. I'm working up
a scheme to make a Geocaching Circle that is both interesting and
rewarding. At the outset I spent a day organizing the Yrium-card
collection so that I could and did share it with an existing Geocaching
Circle. So far BlondHiLites has been the only one to show an interest
in viewing and the Yrium-card image galleries.
As far as this Geocaching Forum thread is concerned I can only guess
that there is some interest because there's very nearly no evidence
at all to show that it serves a need.
So it goes,
Poor ol' Harmon
All the farm buildings built from White Oak milled on
this old sawmill.
