The Haves And The Have Nots
Jumpin' Jack Cache replied to Minimike2's topic in General geocaching topics
Count your blessings. 2 pages (40 caches) from my home coordinates gets everything within 10 miles, 15 are mine. -
Did you read the post immediately preceding yours? As a Premium Member (which your little title thingy says you are), you can easily do so. (Not trying to be snarky, honest.)

Requiring photos to log an Earthcache
Jumpin' Jack Cache replied to firennice's topic in EarthCaches
Who are you and what have you done to Chuck? (I suspect I know the answers and I think it's pretty low of you if I am right.) This is where it belongs (and another thread or 2 here). Not a comment on the topic(s). I actually agree with the sentiment(s), for the most part, just not the tactics. I know mtmanva2 and know for a fact that those comments were not written by him, I've read enough of his cache pages to be sure of that. What I am not sure of is whether he knows that they are being made by someone signed in under his account... Dirty pool is dirty pool. -

No offense, but why should I bother to read your point of view when all you ever do is post links to your own website? Afraid to post it here or just fishing for traffic? -
Could it be too much coffee
Jumpin' Jack Cache replied to JohnnyVegas's topic in General geocaching topics
Well, there ya go. "chill out time". Have a brew or two. Lay off the coffee, I hear it causes gas (and angst). -
One version.

Maybe I didn't make it clear enough in my post that AZCachemeister's so-called "solution" does not work. I'll tell you what. KBI had a good idea. Here is the cache page. Go to the gallery and right-click to get to the image, and then come back and tell me how that worked for you. Mmmkay? This image? Edit: Firefox 3.5.5, right click gallery thumbnail & View image. Also had the option to "save image as"

Strange, I set up a similar PQ for my caches and it returned 0 caches. I have had NM logs in the past.
-
Re the bolded part, have you logged "Owner Maintenance" logs on those caches?
-
.... But I thought we had to get them all... Nope, this ain't Pokemon.

how about a section where we can recommend routes?
Jumpin' Jack Cache replied to smstext's topic in General geocaching topics
Bookmark lists could do this nicely. -
The-dog-who-feels-that-he-must-mark-every-thread confused me a bit, too. I have never heard the Geo part any other way than as in Geography (JEE, not GHEE).

Ideas for geo-themed halloween costumes?
Jumpin' Jack Cache replied to Sol seaker's topic in General geocaching topics
I like this one! Simple, sexy & elegant 'course one of those clear Fuji film cans that Clan Riffster prefers would be more interesting... -

Black dress + gray beret = film canister micro. -
To avoid that, the secret is to eat them back-end first. <image snipped> That's the best way to avoid having "stuff" squirt out and making a mess on your shirt, too.

I've heard a few people say cashay and thought it was pretty funny. Not long after I heard it that way for the first time I noticed that some reporters were pronouncing it the same way, as in "a cache of weapons". I still thought it was pretty funny.

That'd be my kind of micro.

Sounds like it's a bison tube. Maybe one of the big ones?

3, the one mentioned in this thread is the 2008 version. 4th version is in the works. -
Never heard of that one. Link? Now I'm curious.

Garmin Rino, perhaps? They're a combination GPSr and 2-way radio.

My 60Cx is blind.
Jumpin' Jack Cache replied to GOF and Bacall's topic in GPS technology and devices
Web Updater wouldn't do it for me when it happened to mine, either. As I recall, the latest on the site that I linked to didn't work either and I ended up installing the next-to-newest from there and then running Web Updater after that to get it back to the latest version. It's been a while since I did it, could be the latest from the other site is fine now... -

Check your chipset software version Setup>System>Menu>Software Version> GPS Software Version If it is 0.00 there are threads which deal with this problem but I can't find them at the moment. Best that I recall, running Web Updater several times sometimes fixes it, otherwise there is a handy link to another site where you can find it (which I can't find at the moment, either). Edit: Hah, found it. http://www.gawisp.com/perry/chipset_firmware/Type_G/
