You should keep the contest in a controlled area that will allow everyone to walk/run between caches. http://home.attbi.com/~wander_lost/smile02.gif If ignorance is bliss, why aren't there more happy people?? Yes, it would be like a mad dash, however this would also eliminate the possibility that the cachers would be on each others heels to get to the same caches. Team Shuey Riverview, Florida
  2. Note: We have even looked into the situation of: What if we give everyone a copy of the cache list, and they have other people that are not in the contest help them by finding others at the same time? Answer: We came up with an idea that we hold the list, and have them call in after each find. This would make the contest go faster, because we would then be able to justify, and make it so we do not send them to caches that have already been found. Team Shuey Riverview, Florida
  3. I own a business, and have several other businesses interested in sponsoring an event for geocaching here in central Florida. The problem is what type of contest could we do that would make it evenly fair for each contestant. Below is our idea, and if you have any other ideas let us know. We really want to stay away from virtual caches. Here is our idea: 1.) We would hide lets say 50 caches within 50 miles. The contents of the cache would consist of only a key, or combination. 2.) We would then let every registered participate for the event have a copy of all the cordinates to each of these caches. 3.) The object of this would be of course to get as many keys/combinations as they can, and return back to the base. 4.) At the base everyone will then try their keys/combinations that they retrieved from the caches on a safe that has the prizes inside to see if they are the lucky winner. We feel that this will be able to make it even, because no one will have a clue what cache actually has the winning key/combination. Note: We have even looked into the situation of: My question is, Has anyone ever run a contest of this sort, and if so did everything run smoothly? Team Shuey Riverview, Florida

I'd say most everyone could use an extra first aid kit. I just want to know where you find caches big enough to put that in? Most of our caches here seem to be smaller than that box. http://home.attbi.com/~wander_lost/smile02.gif If ignorance is bliss, why aren't there more happy people?? Here is a picture of the smaller size first-aid-kit. The one that is pictured doesn't show my company logo. Team Shuey Riverview, Florida
  5. I am the owner of a safety suplly company, which supplies safety related items to the construction industry. I have become very interested in geocaching over the last couple of months, and well lets just say that I am HOOKED! The problem is that some of my personal friends that have gotten me involved with geocaching are telling me that the items that I leave are questionable because they advertise my business. Here is the problem: After doing several caches I thought it would be a great idea if I were to leave a first-aid-kits in each cache that I found. I figured that this is a great item considering the type of sport that this is, and cachers getting scraps, and bruises on their adventures. However, my friend has brought it to my attention that my company logo is imprinted on each one. I told him that I feel it is fine, because there is other items in the caches such as Johnson&Johnson bandages, and M&M's, and no one has a clue who Reliance Ind. Sales is. Also, just to let everyone know. I never leave a businesscard, or any form of advertisement that would provoke a sale of items in which I carry. This is just an item that I can purchase under $10, and thought it would be a practical item that may be useful to some cacher someday. I also hide a cache in one of the kits. He also said that it is questionable, but I used the container because it is waterproof. Here is the container in question. What do you think? Should I stop using this type of item for exchanges? Should I not hide caches in these types of containers? Please let me know what you think. --Team SHUEY Team Shuey Riverview, Florida
  6. I enjoy it so much that I dedicate at least six hours on the weekend to do my adventure. The problem is that my wife also enjoys the trips. Now for the problems.. 1.) On bike trips my 4 year old really enjoys because he is on the back of my bike, but my 7 year old can't handle the trips that are over a mile or so. (This gets me upset because she can ride her bike for HOURS & HOURS, and cry when it is time to come in at home.) 2.) When we go on a walking trip my seven year old can just about out walk us, but then we have the problem with the 4 year old. He starts to cry withing the first .10 of a mile. (He also gets me made when we are at home because he runs, jumps, climbs, runs, runs, runs, etc.) This is something I am sure you will all get a kick out of! My wife, and I always took the kids to one of their Grand Parents so we could have some "INTIMATE TIME" . Now we take them there so we can go "GEOCACHING" ! --Team SHUEY Team Shuey Riverview, Florida

  10. I added a new cache to the site today, and the picture that shows up next to my description (at the top of the page) is showing "PHOENIX", when in fact it should be showing "FLORIDA". I can't seem to get rid of that. what can I do to correct this? Here is a link to my cache, and waypoint. -------------------------------- WAYPOINT - GC7C40 "WORTHAM" TO FIND! -------------------------------- --SHUEY Shuey Riverview, Florida
