  1. I ran across some proposed language that I have fashioned into a Reviewers Note. I will be using this for any caches that appear to be in residential neighborhoods: Hello, I am a volunteer for Geocaching.com and I have just reviewed your new cache submission. I am temporarily placing your cache “on hold” in the review queue while we address a problem with the cache. I see your cache is in a residential neighborhood. While not against the guidelines, caches of this sort have caused problems in the past. Residents often do not appreciate an influx of strangers prowling their neighborhood and often remove, or report these caches to the police. If this is your own neighborhood, be sure to let your neighbors know about it. If this is not your neighborhood, consider how you would feel if you noticed strangers visiting your street at all hours and please reconsider using this location. Please respond to this issue by either posting a Reviewer Note to this page or sending me an e-mail at markoramius.ro@gmail.com. If you send an e-mail, please don’t forget to include the GCxxxx code for the cache. Unless I hear from you in the next couple days, I will archive this listing to remove it from the queue. But don’t worry, I can always un-archive it once the issues have been addressed. Thank you for your understanding and your contribution to geocaching. Marko Ramius Volunteer Cache Reviewer Thanks for addressing this concern in such a conciliatory fashion. There will be times when cachers still wander off onto private property while they search for a cache, but by limitting those occurances we can avoid creating some bad impressions for those not playing the game.
  2. I knew Victoria Bitter...she had a pretty face but a rather sour disposition... I think I hear a new cache series about to start, one named after "John Beers". Do you suppose the light beers will be micro's and the imports will be in foreign languages?
  3. ThanksTrailgators, that was trully awesome.
  4. Cat and I willbe going down just for the day (CITO & Caching). We have room for 2 or 3 if someone needs a ride. Leaving east from Lemon Grove.
  5. I thought this was funny, Cat didn't see any humor here
  6. [ Next year, maybe more notice can be given or, with the increased interest generated this year, more notice will be taken of the announcements that are made. Either way, it would probably be more productive to look at ways to make communication better in the future. Or simply rename the awards the Best of LA-Temecula awards
  7. If you know of someone looking for an entry level GPS check out http://www.stootsi.com/ Offer is only valid today.
  8. Congrats to you two on an unbelievable 365 days consecutive cache finds, I think I saw John's picture in the dictionary under “obsession”. I can’t wait to see what you challenge yourself with next.
  9. We are out for tonight, maybe next time, thanks
  10. Cat and I would also be cautiously interested in this adventure. Cautious because DAK girls caches tend to test both body and mind, you are never quite the same after one.
  11. Congratulations you two, your total is as impressive as your consequtive days number.
  12. Some of the artists of the 60's are revising their music hits with new lyrics to accommodate baby boomers this time in their golden years. They include: Herman's Hermits -------- Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Walker The Bee Gees ------------ How Can You Mend a Broken Hip. Bobby Darin -------------- Splish, Splash, I Was Havin' a Flash. Ringo Starr --------------- I Get By With a Little Help From Depends. Roberta Flack ------------ The First Time Ever I Forgot Your Face. Johnny Nash -------------- I Can't See Clearly Now. Paul Simon ---------------- Fifty Ways to Lose Your Liver The Commodores -------- Once, Twice, Three Times to the Bathroom. Marvin Gaye -------------- Heard It Through the Grape Nuts. Leo Sayer ----------------- You Make Me Feel Like Napping. Tony Orlando ------------- Knock 3 Times On The Ceiling If You Hear Me Fall. Helen Reddy -------------- I Am Woman, Hear Me Snore. Willie Nelson -------------- On the Commode Again!!!
  13. Thanks to all the SDCET group for letting us tag along, what a great group of cachers, it made 200 even more special.Hope the next hundred are easier than some of those cowboy caches.
  14. Now tell the rest of the story. The yellow jeep driver had been drinking the water at the cache and was most likely delirious. I know this for a fact since the next place she parked was on the side of a hill, with no road for support, and then ran away laughing from the jeep leaving her mom trapped there. And you were parked right next to her, I suspect she was not the only water-drinker in our group. I didn't get a picture, but I know others did and can validate this log.
  15. Count us for in for breakfast also. Quantity: 2 If someone brings a ladder, will be the jeep.. Otherwise, I can drive the truck and bring a ladder, towels, etc. I have a ladder in my truck already, see you at Denny's
  16. Count us in! Where and what time to meet? How about Denny's @ 7:00 or HERE @ 8:00. Let me know if that works for everyone. Robyn & Kathy We are good for Denny's! Thanks for setting it up Looks like I'll be able to make this one. Where is the Dennys you are going to ? I have an 8ft ladder I can bring. Will that be tall enough Originally the ladder had to be twelve feet tall. Of course a few athletic finders scored the cache without a ladder but I can't recommend that approach. After a high wind destroyed the first placement we repositioned the container and it became a bit easier to reach with a shorter ladder. With an eight-foot ladder you'll probably have to do a balancing act. Robyn is the perfect candidate for a balancing act ... you'll understand why from the photo below. Think about it ... y'all don't need no stinkin' ladder. I love that picture, Harmon! I have it at my desk at work. I can't tell you how many people ask me how I got up there. Breakfast on Saturday morning is at the Denny's off of Los Coches next to Blockbuster. If you have 4WD, you can cut across the parking lot (Gene, you rock!) Robyn There will be 3 of us for breakfast, see you there. ( We have a ladder with us)
  17. Aw shucks, I have a for-teen-footer I kin brung fur numer "A", an I ain't brag'in.
  18. Count us in! Where and what time to meet? How about Denny's @ 7:00 or HERE @ 8:00. Let me know if that works for everyone. Robyn & Kathy We are good for Denny's! Thanks for setting it up Count us in also, I think we are clear, but we just got back from Ocotillo, so will have to double-check with the boss.
  19. [Congratulations to Lostguy on hitting 800 during our trip around the Bear Valley Loop
  20. M2 you did a great job on the PHOTO site , looking forward to following it. Some day may even get a camera to post some pictures. Really a neat site, you out did yourself. Thanks for the comments The first photos for the 19 Nov 2006 version of the San Diego Cache Event Team are posted! The unoffical title of the event was "Jeeps just want to have fun". Beta testers, start your engines! These photos are great M2, thanks for all your time taking them and posting them. This was an awsome caching trip but I guess I will have to start logging in the finds now. Thanks again from both of us.
  21. Be looking for that little yellow Jeep! I just mentioned last week that I really wanted to do this trail. Thanks for the get-together! See you at 9:00 at the Blockbuster. Robyn & Kathy of Team Reid Cat and I would like to tag along. This will be our first time"team caching" . We have been to the area before, but took the eastern loop, and we do have 4-wheel drive.
  22. I am sure you have heard this idea many times before, but maybe discussing it in forum will help mature the idea. A new set of cards using the best caches list. The "photos" could include cache owner and landmark terrain features, the description could include colorful quotes from various logs about the cache. As an added bonus I would suggest including an additional hint at the cache if the owner is willing to provide one, it would make the cards even more valuable.
  23. Rigged, OK, I admit it we paid the chili judges to pick ours, sure they were cheap, especailly Fatboy, but the $1,000 seamed like a small price to pay for such an honor.... Oh, wait a minute, they're saying you cheated, well never mind my previous comments. I thought your attitude was great, not many (including whoever wrote the email) would have donated back all the winnings from the Poker Run. This is another example of someone just trying to rattle cages, those who met you understand your character and will not listen to this kind of useless chatter.
