Hi,
I just upgraded my e-trex Legend for a GPSmap76S.
I took a couple of known coordinates that I had mapped in my e-trex as well as on ExpertGPS. The coordinates showed up on both the e-trex basemap and ExpertGPS in the "exact" right spot.
I entered the same points into the GPSmap76 and the points that showed up on its internal basemap were to the south and to the east of where they should be.
Can the basemap be off? Is there a way to fix it?
Any help would be appreciated :-)

Thanks Wizard, but doesn't the Vista give an option to use it without connecting to the satelites? The Legend does. Which leads me to believe that it was meant to be on even though it can't get a signal.
I'm still thinking it's a problem. I've had it for less than 30 days so I'm gonna exchange it.
Should I keep the Legend or upgrade to the Vista?

Hi,
I have an e-Trex Legend and sometimes I'll set it down on the dashboard or on the seat next to me in the car and when I pick it up, it's off - within a few minutes. It's not the batteries since I have new ones and they show fully charged on the unit.
I don't think is supposed to do that. Has anyone else had that problem?

Very interesting.
I'm gonna have to think about this one!
But what if you don't have a compass and it's cloudy? :-)

I'm new to this and I was thinking, ...
What happens if someone takes a nasty picture or two with your camera and you go to your local film developer to have the pictures printed.
Other than being embarassed , can you get in any trouble for any pictures that you have developed?

Hi,
I'm new to this and just posted my first hide.
The system assigned it a waypoint. On the page describing the hide, it says "Use waypoint: GC9921."
How and when would I use this name for the waypoint. It seems that if I have the coordinates that I wouldn't need a name.
Thanks for your help!
